We had a Brecon Valley Oak floor fitted in our new kitchen. The floor was rescreeded before being professionally fitted. After about 2 years we noticed parts of the flooring had started to bow and to fail on the joints. Some of the upper layer of laminate also started to peel. I contacted the shop where we originally bought it (originally with a view to buying extra) and they informed me there were reported issues with this particular flooring and that it had been withdrawn. Contacted Woodpecker who agreed to send someone out. They claimed the floor had been laid with insufficient allowance for expansion and contraction and the materials weren't at fault (their remit from the outset was always going to be to find a reason other than to blame the floor?).
As we had a couple of spare boxes we decided to go down the 'replace route' only to find different boxes of the same flooring weren't compatible - they wouldn't click together.
We're doubly disappointed with Woodpecker and based on our experience we wouldn't recommend their flooring.

Woodpecker Brecon LVP flooring is beautiful, but BEWARE. Their flooring is manufactured in the UK, and in our case, a few boxes of the flooring that arrived from the UK apparently got wet in shipment. Consequently, after installation in our dining room (in 2022), the long edges of 40 LVP planks ended up curling and peeling slowly over time (2-3 years). They do not honor their 25 year warranty, as they refused to replace the 80 sqft of damaged flooring, saying that the installer did not leave sufficient gaps at the wall for expansion. After removing the molding, I found that isn’t the case. Now some of the planks are a trip hazard. They also said they don’t make that style anymore. I feel stuck, and I may have to replace the entire flooring downstairs due to their lapse in quality and customer service, at my cost. The BBB has been notified, and they leave me no choice but to take this up with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to get this resolved.

Kyros and Rachel have been so helpful when I managed to scratch my solid wood flooring between them they advised a product that would help repair the scratch. Thw item they recommended was out of stock and Kyros managed to get aome made up for me to order and get despatched straight away. There both a credit to the team and both full of lots of knowledge about the woodpecker flooring I cant thank them enough

Like many of the other users I used an experienced joiner to fit my flooring throughout my ground floor at a cost of over £7000.
The first six months were great and then the boards started to move and then more boards started to move and then came the peeling at the corners and then the chips. The peeling actually happened in areas with very little traffic, I would get up in the morning and sharp corners of the board would be sticking up.
My Joiner came out a couple of times to address the issues but the issues continued to grow arms and legs and he suggested it was the flooring which was correct.
It was the Breacon flooring used and as you can see it was not cheap.
It’s quite disgusting what manufactures get away with offering worthless guarantees.
Please do not buy this flooring it is lovely when laid but within six months the issues will start and finally after about four years of trying to disguise chips and glue down corners I could not stand it any more.
It is being lifted as I write this and the joiner is horrified at the quality of the click mechanism.
DAYLIGHT ROBBERY.

Hello
We have woodpecker Brecon flooring in the kitchen.
It looks lovely but the issue I am having is it always looks marked
It leaves marks when you walk on it. Even when we hae cleaned it they are still showing
Other than levitating across it I am unsure what else I can do
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Thanks
Since the reply from woodpecker…..
I am really disappointed with this, I really do not want to get into communicating this way! This is purely an answer from you to protect your product. I simply want to see if any other customers are having issues with marks being left on the floor.
As advised by yourself have literally washed my floor once a day for five weeks with water only and we are still having the same issues. This is now not about the cleaning product as water leaves no residue!
We have a floor that can’t be walked on so as a customer we fail to see how that’s fit for its purpose
Very disappointing for. Sure

I am extremely disappointed with this flooring. It was advertised as waterproof and came with a 10-year warranty, but within a short time the boards started cracking, lifting, and peeling apart under normal household use.
When I contacted the company, I was told it was my fault because I used underlay. However, underlay is a standard part of flooring installation, and at no point was it made clear that this would cause the product to fail or void the warranty. A waterproof, durable floor should not crack and peel so easily.
What is even more concerning is that many other customers here are reporting the exact same problems — broken boards, peeling surfaces, and poor durability. This suggests a product quality issue rather than individual user error.
I expected a reliable product and proper customer service, especially with a 10-year warranty. Instead, I have been left with damaged flooring and no meaningful resolution.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend this product.

I had the Brecon flooring fitted in 2023 and it is now lifting, chipping and cracking. I can not afford to replace the flooring. Woodpecker blamed the fitter, the fitter blamed Woodpecker. I have read since that many problems have occurred with this product and some state a faulty batch. I also read that the product has been changed since I purchased it. I am left with a dangerous floor. I have contacted Woodpecker again and will update.
Update. Woodpecker have blamed the fitter and I am left with a dangerous floor which I cannot afford to replace. Absolutely heartbroken as we saved for years to afford new flooring. Do not touch with a barge pole.

I have been arguing with this company for nearly a year.
Same issues as everyone else.
Flooring lifting, scratching, moving, bad qualify.
Company using all the excuses in the book after the mandatory facetime call, not fitted properly, uneven floor, thresholds!!!! in an open plan kitchen. They will not take responsibility for the poor qualify / batch of flooring.

The professionalism demonstrated by your team was exceptional, and communication was consistently clear and efficient.
My pre-order inquiry received a prompt and informative response. The product was delivered with remarkable speed. Furthermore, the post-sale support was incredibly responsive and effective. Definitely recommend your services.

We had our woodpecker Brecon herringbone vintage LVT oak fitted by a reputable fitter in November 2022, we noticed the issue in oct 2023, the corners are lifting and causing painful trip hazards. We purchased 53.28 sq meters to go into our hall through to the kitchen and on into our orangery without any door bars (wanted the flow through effect) we have contacted woodpecker several times only to be offered a FaceTime appraisal, after which it was decided that we should have had door bars fitted for expansion!! We have learned that woodpecker have discontinued our ranged of flooring so not sure if we can even replace our damaged boards as they are not accepting any responsibility for the issues. We have to do something about the lifting corners (the wood effect part of 1 board tore back off the under board when I was hoovering the floor) we can’t live with this dangerous and totally devastating situation. Don’t know where to go from here. Would NEVER recommend Woodpecker.

Seriously, avoid at all costs. All those saying the flooring is wonderful the company is wonderful have JUST had the floor fitted please look at the 1 star reviews of flooring that’s been laid and all the issues following this, we all have flooring peeling, splitting, lifting, coming apart wish I was alone in this problem!
We had flooring fitted in 2021 as part of a whole house renovation the kitchen, dining utility 66 sqm to be precise. Self levelled, no underlay ect, floor was self levelled kitchen was put in then the flooring put down with appropriate gaps and fitting instructions followed- after all our trusted fitter does work closely with MKM where we purchased this flooring.
Filled out a form filled with questions that no doubt that they will blame you for this happening or your trusted fitter responses were really timely until answered all the questions given a case number 7706 and now silence, if you look at all the other 1 star reviews it’s consistently the same woodpecker blaming others for the flooring issues or refusing to send replacement flooring (not that you’d want the same breacon flooring seeing it’s had all these issues- I see it’s in the outlet now being discontinued, clearly not fit for purpose) and not responding to emails when it comes to fixing issues, apparently there was a bad batch of breacon flooring and looking at how many of us are having issues from 2021 that seems accurate on top of the fact the flooring it’s self is clearly poor.
Really avoid at all costs. Look at other company reviews no where near as bad as this.
The cost of having 66smq of flooring replaced will be heartbreaking considering we just installed 4 years ago imagine having to replace flooring every 4 years also the 25 year warranty is clearly nonsense too.
Update- this is the most laughable response yet- Indira blamed the joiners the fact we have no thresholds the house is open plan set up for sliding doors just like their beacon fitting book which shows a sliding door with no thresholds!! Open plan houses & sliding doors do not have thresholds!! Also tried to say we’ve no expansion gaps we do have them and photographic evidence now for our case!
Hilarious- our joiners have worked closely with MKM for years and very experienced this flooring is dreadful please do not waste your hard earned money- we have an infant in our house it’s beyond dangerous when constantly peeling for her feet as well. Actually unbelievable- the warranty is utter lies and false advertisement.
Please go to citizens advice and report to trading standards it’s really easy to do you have rights for up to 6 years after purchase under consumer laws & the fact they are ignoring warranty repairs alongside the product not being fit for purpose!!

Great service and quality product.

Purchased the flooring through Wren kitchens in 2021. Chose it through recommendation by Wren and it’s 25yr warranty. Earlier this year, corners started lifting and edges splitting away. Contacted Wren only to be informed they no longer deal with Woodpecker but advised to email them direct with all of the answers to 12 questions which I did. Received email from Woodpecker instantly with a list of scenarios and fixes. Complained to them that this was unacceptable and was asked to send photos along with photos of damp meter readings and spirit level (told ‘this was all I had to do’) which I did. Received another email from them requesting answers to more questions which I sought from our ‘professional’ fitter. I’ve been chasing a response now for 3 weeks and have just now been asked if we would ‘prefer’ for a video consultation to assess the flooring?. Well the answer is simple….NO! This could have been offered back in Oct when I requested a visit (but was advised it would be at a cost of £200), rather than all of this hassle to get nowhere. I am SO angry right now and will be taking this matter further. I’ll now be seeking advice from Trading Standards as clearly the 25yr warranty is being ‘mis sold’. PLEASE DON’T TOUCH WOODPECKER FLOORING! We spent all of our savings on our kitchen and downstairs flooring 4yrs ago and I’m utterly devastated.

We went for Brecon River Oak Flooring because of the 25 year Warranty. It is now splitting and peeling, purchased through Wrens Kitchen. The flooring was put down professionally, got in touch with Woodpecker they just insist it's been put down wrong, the floors must be uneven, in no way could it be the bad product. DON'T TOUCH IT TERRIBLE PRODUCT AND COMPANY!!!!!!

We purchased Woodpecker Seashell Oak Herringbone for a kitchen floor. Within 10 months, corners of boards started to lift and gaps began to form. It was replaced by Woodpecker as a ‘gesture of goodwill’ - apparently nothing to do with their 25 year guarantee. They advised that they had had problems with the flooring joins and had therefore increased thickness of boards by 1mm, and had altered the joins to make them stronger. Our carpenter couldn’t see any difference when comparing two boards side by side.
Less than 12 months later, the same thing happened again. This time they eventually sent a surveyor to assess. Apparently because one end of our kitchen was 3mm higher than the other, this caused the entire floor to fail. Our carpenter (who was blamed for poor installation in the surveyor’s report) is disgusted and said that most floors will not be 100% level unless they have had a levelling compound used. He added that he has had no issues with other brands of similar types of flooring over the years, and will be steering clear of Woodpecker in future.
The flooring is not fit for purpose. I can see others have had the same problem and wish I had read these reviews first.
Interestingly, the surveyor that attended was leaving the company and we understood from his comments that we’d have no luck with Woodpecker customer service, no matter what we do, as they are so poor to deal with.
The after sales customer service is dire. The local (not linked to Woodpecker) store we purchased the flooring through were ignored by the Woodpecker rep for months, and only when a manager from the store escalated the issue higher with Woodpecker did they deign to respond.
What a diabolical company to deal with.

We bought Chepstow Washed Oak Engineer Wood RWA-001 £225 apprx per box from Woodpecker. The product comes with a 100 years WARRANTY. Apprx over 3 years has passed and the engineer wood has started to crack from the middle and side edges. The product has failed and has a fault. I had contacted the woodpecker and as requested by simon have send all photos of the issues raised. I have been passed from one person to another , one department to another. Its feels that i going through an intense investigation for a faulty product and the customer service quality is very very poor.
The company keeps on asking more & more questions after questions, the reason behind this is because they do NOT want to honor the product WARRANTY. Perhaps blame it on consumer neglects, blame it on installers, blame it on any third party, exclusion etc to AVOID ANY company liability. Even after addressing the issues many times again and again the member of staff Indira feel that i have raised my voice against her but the reality is cannot understand how frustrated customer can become when inconvienced and material distress is caused and do not help.THIS COMPANY DOES NOT CARE! The products has fails and the manufacturer Woodpecker flooring beleive that its nothing to do with them. I am so upset and disappointed that i purchased a high end product run by a 4 or limited people owned company that does not care about their consumer. Its almost been a week now and i am still waiting to hear for a decision about my issue raised. Its been passed to the HEAD of Quality who is busy in Scotland dealing with other important customers than me.So when they available they will look into the situation. I will not recommend or repurchased from such a company ever again. Stay Away from purchasing any product from this Company! Avoid! Complaint Ref 7536. Total Disappointed
