Lifetime subscriptions have been cancelled. Just received a mail, that the service was cancelled. Without refund. Just an information to a new service “fridayplays.com”. Really bad.

Ubercrate is a journey of discovery, where you can uncover hundreds of great games, all for a fraction of the retail price. All games are entirely randomly selected, and everyone gets a different mystery crate each month – Meaning that you could get the latest triple A blockbuster, or some mind bending indie game that you would have never have stumbled upon before. Unlike other subscription boxes, ubercrate is different – We send out your games digitally every month, direct to your inbox. So there’s no waiting around for something to eventually show up at your house – That also means steamcrate is available worldwide, without any country or border restrictions! We’re not ones to tie you in to a lengthy contract – You can cancel at anytime you choose, and the games you’ve already received are yours to keep forever!

This company is dishonest, apathetic to its customers and lacks basic customer service

I bought a 3 month trial for this company at a discounted rate from stackexchange. I think it was $50CAD or ~30EUR. Anyways, the first month passes, no game codes were sent to me. Second month, same things, and finally on the third month I receive games from them. All of these games were poorly reviewed or were under $2CAD, or were previously free, or were currently free. The value of this bundle was ~$5CAD.

Being frustrated at the awful service I had received, I contacted (or tried to contact) customer service to cancel my subscription. However, I got no reply, and today I was charged $120CAD for a 3 month renewal of this subscription. Again, I've tried to contact customer service and have gotten no response. They are taking my money, preventing me from cancelling, and not delivering what they said they would. This is dishonest and perhaps bordering on illicit, and I'm going to file a report with the FTC. I've also filed to be reimbursed by my credit card company, and to block further payments.

Furthermore, It is interesting that UberCrate are so active on these review pages to do damage control, but can't answer private emails to cancel accounts or provide service. Interesting choice for use of resources.

In short, save your money, buy games you like. Because you will definitely not like any of the games you receive from them, and if you do, they're probable free, or $2. I recommend anyone who has been mistreated by them to file a complaint with the FTC.

EDIT: Moments after writing this review I got a refund for the most recent payment. However, I still did not receive two months worth of games, so I still got money lifted. This refund doesn't change the review. Stay away from this company.

Second Update: They reported my review for containing so-called defamatory content (even though, by law, defamatory content is only defamatory if it isn't true -- which in this case, it is true). They are constantly trying to muzzle people who speak out against their company (as you can probably see with all of their reported reviews). This should speak volumes to you as a consumer, and demonstrate to you that you should spend your money elsewhere. They are focusing their efforts towards reporting honest customer reviews instead of simply making their business better. and to Ubercrate: report this review again and I'll just keep updating it. You're only harming your own reputation; fix your business model (or lack thereof), and I might even consider returning.

Third update: They reported my review again and even claimed that they didn't recognize me as a customer. Anything they can do to try to hide and invalidate my review. I had to send documents to Trustpilot to prove I was a customer to get my review back up. I'm going through this hassle so that you future potential buyers know not to subscribe to Ubercrate.

Further reading: You'll notice that they say that they don't give refunds, but myself and another reviewer got refunds. The only difference in the cases (as far as I can see) was mention of reporting their conduct to regulatory bodies. Consider this when leaving a review, and follow through if you believe you have a case.

Don't do it!

Don't do it!

If you expect to get good games or triple a games don't ever do this.
It seems their team is very lazy too, i mean i pressed unsub and explained it was too expensive.. weeks later i'm still subscribed. I pressed it again and hopefully they unsub me this time.

Basically what you get are those games that are like played by no one and on steam sale that will cost like 10 cent each. Those are the games you can expect to get.

The crate is abnormally expensive for the games they give you could get other triple a titles for way cheaper.

So what we have here is a company that basically charges you a lot of money for titles they probably get for like 10 cent or lower. Those titles are obtained by distributors which possibly sell those keys for incredibly low prices. There might be an triple a game in there somewhere for one guy maybe not even because everyone I've seen use this crate has only received cheap titles and copies of those cheap titles. Yeah saw someone receive the same crappy game one after another.

This is what they call "Random" I don't remember random meaning all the unknown steam games.

So I've used this for 2 months which equals to 20 games and all those games were those cheap puzzle games. If you wish for cheap puzzle games then this crate is perfect for you.

Poor games, difficult to unsubscribe

Tried it for 3 months, never had a decent game, all were poor indie games. Way to expansive and also trying to unsubscribe is nearly impossible. Wrote to these guys twice but never received an answer, stay away from this site.

They promise you great game...

...But in fact don't trust the main page, were you can see "previous crate"

All game are sent randomly, to have such good price, it work like that. Good game cost a lot, and they're only few key, all others key are really bad indie game (game that are often offered for free on site like indiegala). So great game is just for very very small number of people. And generally you got only bad game that nobody's want. (the worst is that they don't look over game you already have, and you got a lot of double, and they're a worst thing, in some case you can have the same game twice during the same month).

Don't subscribe to this, prefer humblebundle monthly, no surprise and really interesting game.

I thought i've done a good work by getting the annual 65% OFF, but even at this price, game don't deserve this amount of money. And you can't cancel or get a refund.

Worst game dealer ever !!! don't give us your money.

PS : Few days ago they've changed their name to "ubercrate", to many people complain about "steamcrate", so like that they go back to the beginning and only few people can know that the same website ... that show how professional are those guy

PS June 2017 : I never got my last month game, they have canceled my subscription and keep 60 euros ... now my account is banned without any mail or explanation...

This website is just a SCAM, WORST STEAM DEALER EVER !!!
