I am one amongst many who has been put…

I am one amongst many who has been put out of pocket for $950.00 plus a convenience fee. Used this company that was recommended by a IRS rep back in July of 2021 made the payment got a confirmation email assuming all was well. To find out via the IRS my payment was not received so I am told send in the evidence to prove I made a payment did all that with the confirmation from PayUsaTax and my bank statement which totally proves payment was made and taken from my bank. So one year later I get an IRS letter giving me instructions to get back with PayUsaTax with a number to call which is a toll number to pay tax only. So for anyone else out there wanting to pay taxes with this portal I would have to say don't do it. Because you will be just left in limbo.

This is a scam

This is a scam. I paid $1867.00 and a convenience fee of $36.59 on March 31, 2021. The IRS sent me a CP14 failure to pay notice a few months later saying I still owed exactly $1867.00 of my total ax payment (I had paid the rest of it using a different website). I have tried countless times to contact Value Payment Systems and PayTaxUSA and have been s=disconnected after a while of sitting on hold being told "our call volume is larger than normal". Do NOT use this website unless you want to be out a lot of money and have the IRS telling you didn't pay your taxes.

Theft at it Finest

I had a small issue on my taxes from 2018, was notified in 2021, got online and paid the $1,607 and another $211. Was notified late last year that the $1607 was never received by IRS. Been fighting with this company and the IRS since that time. I can prove from my accounts that the payment was made, but the IRS doesn't care. How can a company with an F rating even be considered to take payments for IRS. SO FRUSTRATED.....

Investigate This Company ASAP

Value Payment Systems, LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company doing business as PayUSATax is a recommended third-party credit card processing provider for the IRS. They are stealing MILLIONS of dollars from US Citizens and action needs to be taken against them IMMEDIATELY. This is not a conspiracy theory. I am an Arizona Certified Public Accountant and tax preparer, and this is a known issue affecting our industry.

Users of IRS.gov are redirected to PayUSATax to make estimated tax payments, tax balances owed, etc. The tax payments are not posted to the users' IRS accounts. The money remains in an unknown status, with no recourse of getting it back.

I personally made a 2021 estimated tax payment (1040-ES) for $500 using PayUSATax on 11/12/2021. The payment never posted to my IRS account. I have sent countless e-mails, calls, and there is no response on the other end. I have had to extend my tax filing over this issue, and am still unable to get a hold of anyone and will likely have to take the loss.

The IRS recommends reaching out to Value Payment Systems, LLC to resolve the issue. Value Payment Systems does not have a valid phone system. You can be on hold all day and then will be disconnected. No one responds to numerous e-mails after 8 months. My credit card company won't submit a dispute as it is past 90 days, and I tried to resolve this with the merchant directly, to no avail.

Fortunately, I have only been robbed of $500 and a $9.80 convenience fee. Many others are not so lucky, including seniors on a fixed income. There are HUNDREDS of complaints against this company, and the IRS has taken NO action to remove them from their website.

I am appalled and frustrated at the treatment of our own constituents by the IRS and their recommended payment provider. I have submitted a complaint to the FBI twice, and nothing has been done to stop this crooked company. It's possible that they are just "behind" by a year or more - but it's a time sensitive issue. Their business practices are hurting innocent Americans.

You can see similar complaints on BBB and news stories.

Like everybody else

Like everybody else, I paid through this site and my payment never reached the IRS. They do not answer calls or emails. I cannot believe with this happening so much that they are still approved by IRS for payments.

2021 federal taxes paid via payusatax.com, never got to IRS

I paided my 2021 federal taxes through this website in the amount of 3666.00 back in April. I just got notice from IRS that I need to make payment or set up a payment plan, payment was never received. I called the IRS and gave them the info and confirmation number I got from Payusatax.com and they said I need to take up the dispute from them. I have spent hours on hold with no responce and no responce via email. Thankfully, I paid with my Paypal card so I can dispute it and get my money back but from what I have read from other reviews, many are not that fortunate. I'm more disgusted by the fact that the IRS referred me to this site.

I have been waiting on the line for over 2 hours each day for over a week and no one has ever answers the phone. I don't understand why IRS are still using this company and have them listed on their website. They are scaming people and the IRS.

SCAMMERS 101

Unfortunately, i'm one of them who got scammed. Paid last April about $2,900 and now just got a letter from the IRS stating I still owe them money. Cross my finger that i'm still covered through PayPal policy of 180 days to file for refund and investigation. My tax preparer even suggest this company and thinking it was legit since seal of IRS are present at their website. Hope this ends well...

TrustPilot Saved Us Grief

My wife tried paying our quarterly estimated taxes this morning. Our CPA had told us to use 1040paytax.com website.

1) Opened 1040paytax.com in Brave web browser on a MacBook Pro.
2) It redirected to payUSAtax.com.
3) Entered SSN, complete credit card info, home address, phone number, email address, and tax payment amount.
4) Clicked submit button.
5) It went to a non-existent web page (URL).

That set off alarms in our heads. I immediately found my way to these TrustPilot reports. Then I called our credit card anti-fraud department. While on the line, the charge did not come through. She gave me the option to let the charge stand to see if/when it came through to open a case on it, or to cancel the credit card. We opted to cancel. Considering what I read on TrustPilot, that was the best decision even if the IRS considers the website legit. Even if it is legit, it’s function is incredibly inept and incompetent.

Contacting other CPAs, they said to do payments via the IRS.gov website. “.gov” is a fairly well-protected URL extension, but “.com” is pretty much open to the whole world, businesses, scammers, and fraudsters alike.

We sent our concerns to our CPA. After he reviewed the TrustPilot reports, he’s changed his tune and will tell his clients to use the official IRS.gov website.

Subsequent research …

I’ve done more investigation. The company that operates 1040paytax.com and payUSAtax.com website is very likely legit. The company’s name is Drake Software. TrustPilot has 25+ reviews about payUSAtax.com, all very negative. Given that the IRS refers taxpayers to Drake’s website, I suspect 100,000s or millions of taxpayer would have used Drake’s website. 25 complaints is minuscule compared to total probable uses of Drake’s website.

But 25 people have fallen through the cracks, cracks that Drake (probably with cooperation of the IRS) needs to close. Those 25 people have a high level frustration, helplessness, anger, and hurt having to pay taxes twice. They need help. Drake’s customer service is abominable. Phones are answered, times on hold are hours and end in a hang up on Drake’s, and emails yield no responses.

The IRS either points their finger at Drake saying it’s Drake’s problem or the IRS does a poor job on followup on open cases.

If Drake and the IRS worked together on these 25 complaints, I’d bet they could be cleared up in fairly short order.

I think the IRS needs to take more responsibility for their referrals to third parties. That means vetting third party companies like Drake needs improvement, and the IRS needs to monitor third party performance more closely.

SCAM - DO NOT PAY VIA THIS PLATFORM

I am appalled that this company has been noted as a legible platform by the IRS to pay your federal tax bill as the payment was never processed and reflected on my account. On contacting the company, you are never going to get to speak to any representatives as the phone line are never answered, neither are attempts at emailing them.

This company is beginning to sound like a scam and I am surprised the IRS is still promoting the services of this company despite many complaints.

I thought I was pretty good at spotting scams but this one is a doozy! I have been paying my taxes through this company and they never paid them to the IRS. I had to pay the IRS $8000. I am just sick! I try to contact them and there is no way to do that! I am going to hire a tax attorney to get some of my money back if that's even possible. Where is the money is what I'd like to know. I'm trying so hard not to use a cuss word right now!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed that I can get some of my money back!

FRAUDSTERS! They kept my payment to the IRS, and when I tried calling their customer service, I was on hold for over an hour TWICE, before the hold music going silent, the clock still ticking, and TOTAL SILENCE. This is how they avoid talking to you! Shut these criminals down ASAP!! How many people have to get ripped off before the authorities do something???? Fortunately, I have a screenshot of the amount I paid with their confirmation number, as well as records through PayPal. But as far as the IRS is concerned, I NEVER PAID! These people are disgusting bottom feeders. I can't believe the IRS recommends them!!!

HORRIBLE AUTOMATED SYSTEM!!

It took 20 minutes to add my personal information to the automated system. The system asked for some type of info that wasn't on the tax return (even though they said it was). While looking over the tax return to find the info, the automation so that they were sorry that I couldn't make my payment, then hung up. I guess this was a blessing in disguise since reading the reviews. Dodged that expensive bullet, but not feeling super comfortable that they have my personal info.

PAYUSATAX KEPT MY INSTALLMENT PAYMENT,NEVER SENT IT TO IRS

PAYUSATAX.COM (Owned by WORLDPAY) kept my 2nd installment payment for my 2019 Federal Business Taxes, of almost $600 that I paid on 6/4/21 with my debit card, and were due in full on 7/1/21!My initial 2019 taxes were done by a tax preparer that I hired, because 2019 was my first year working as a Sole Proprietor. He messed them up so badly( forgot healthcare forms, No deductions, and put a a couple numbers in the wrong place.)After E-Filing them to IRS and getting through all the closures due to COVID, They finally review Ed them and sent me a notice to send them my 1095A & 8962 and they would fix them accordingly. So I didn’t get my stimulus and got turned down for most much needed government as they weren’t officially in the system correctly. So ASAP in February/2021 I had my 2020 taxes done by some else, filed for stimulus rebates, and was finally allowed to set up an installment plan that had already accrued a year of penalties and interest! I paid $1,000 initially and had until 7/1/21 to pay the remainder. On top of going through Identity theft from the EquifaxData Breach of 2017, yet didn’t find out until 2019, I felt more comfortable making 2nd payment on my debit card instead of just my bank account. So I called the number on the last IRS notice I received and she gave me a phone number to pay it “automatically”..So I made the payment, got a confirmation #, and thought I was done. BUT on 10/25/21 I got another IRS notice that they never received my 2nd payment-that was supposed to be turned over to the IRS within 5-7 business days! I called my bank immediately and she sent me a pdf that my $600 was taken out of my account on 6/5/21 and paid with my debit card to the”U.S. Treasury Tax Payment”. To make a very long story shorter, that was not good enough for the IRS. They said they stil don’t know where my money went.So after explaining my story to about 15 different extensions ( because nobody knew of this number), which was actually just 1 of 3 numbers I was given that day….*(844)-729-8298-make a payment number. *(844)-825-8729-for questions & confirmations and (855)-508-0159-for “LIVE”Operator. Come to find out ALL these numbers belonged to PAYUSATAX WHICH IS ACTUALLY A MAIN FEDERAL PAYMENT RECEIVER ON THE IRS2GO MOBILE APP!!! Soooo, YES I CAN -AUTOMATICALLY, confirm my payment on6/4/21 with my confirm # and my ssn! But the IRS Had 1 response to whoever I talked to…”CALL THEM AND JUST HAVE THE SEND OVER THE PAYMENT!”..🤬KICKER‼️-THERE IS NO,0,ZILCH- “LIVE”OPERATOR!!! I figured that after leaving my cell phone on speaker, plugged in from 7am -7pm, That just repeats the same message of how busy they are.UGHHH! So as I am still accruing more interest, penalties and have been trying for 2 yrs. to get a Small Business Loan, I have done EVERYTHING I CAN. I went to my bank and the manager put together a whole portfolio for me of exact proof of both my payments.Even the 2.55 debit card fee!.I have been to my local IRS TWICE in the ast 2 months whom the First Lady made copies of everything I had and I even replayed her my “Automated” confirmation. She said they have to get their “ internal team on it, because since I used my debit card, reasoning I thought it was safer going through Identity theft, that it has No tracer number because it went through as point of sale! After not hearing back from her I went back and that IRS-GOVERNMENT WORKER, told me that my 2 choices are to #1-Pay it AGAIN🤯 or #2-Keep calling Payusatax. 😵‍💫So I just made a complaint ( after seeing ALL the same exact reviews on TRUSTPILOT) with the CFPB and am contacting Florida’s State Representatives,Mayor,Governor,etc..How could the IRS actually put a company on THEIR OFFICIAL MOBILE APP THAT is so SEVERELY HORRIBLE, IRRESPONSIBLE,And FRAUDULENT.THIS COMPANY HAS CAUSED SO MANY PEOPLE HORRIBLE PROBLEMS AND THEY WERE CONTACTED BY OUR OWN GOVERNMENT AGENCY! THIS HAS TO END-I thought that I’m just an Unlucky person but this is happening over and over, after a pandemic that we are all still trying to recover from. And FYI-I have left many, many emails on their app.Not 1 has been answered. But someone at the IRS knows about them because they “affiliated” them-However the IRS claims they are NOT affiliated!I want to cry for the person that sent them almost $20,000!! I’ve also sent messages to the Owners/CEO’s of PayUSAtax.com and Worldpay on Linkden. If anyone that has any helpful feedback or advice,I would love to hear it.These companies need to be sued or something!! Thank you for reading this whole complaint…Sincerely, K.T., your fellow American!…Who has to get my 2021 taxes done soon and if I do get any money back, it will all go to my “NON” Payment!🤮🙏😭😠😤And Shame on the IRS TOO!!

They kept my $900+ payment to IRS

I paid my 2020 taxes in one full payment thru payusatax.com and the IRS has no record of me having even filed. I only used them because it was an option on the IRS website.
I realized the taxes weren't completed when I tried to find my AGI for this yr's taxes. I sent them an email detailing my issue; hopefully there will be a resolve at no further cost to myself.

Pay USA Tax Sucks

1/31/23NEW UPDATE -I recently got a call from “payUSA “ new owners looking to resolve Mis placed payments.
Steve Ostroff l Executive Vice President, Payments General Manager
M: 646.522.4102
catalisgov.com I've used and recommended Pay USA tax for years. IRS recommended them to make tax payments using a debit or credit card. Recently I received a Certified letter from IRS stating in missed 2 payments. This was NOT true becuase I've made all my payments on time via Pay USA tax. Luckily I made all my payments through paypal. I filed a claim with pay pal and got all my money back. Also filed a complaint with Attorney General in CA.

IRS did not receive my payment and dinged me with a penalty

It's really sad that PayUSAtax is listed on the IRS website. So many well meaning and honest tax payers are being misled by PayUSAtax and its false advertising. I paid my tax payment well before my due date. PayUSAtax claims that it takes 5-7 days to process payment. IRS did not receive the payment and charged me a penalty. How is this allowed to happen?
