On the 20th, I placed an online order for a 2.25m x 50m roll of Drivetex non-woven geotextile membrane, including delivery. After placing the order, I received no proper confirmation and had to chase the online department myself. I was eventually told that the order was confirmed and that delivery would be on the 24th, which worked with my project schedule.
Unfortunately, on the 22nd I was contacted by the Chelmsford branch and told the product was actually out of stock and my order would be delayed by around a week. I explained that this wouldn't work with my project timeline and was told someone would get back to me, but they never did.
I called again on the 23rd and, to their credit, the online team worked with the Chelmsford branch to find an alternative so I could keep my project moving. However, the alternative supplied was 2 x 25m rolls of Draintex rather than the Drivetex I had ordered. The Draintex was 80gsm rather than 90gsm and, more importantly, I received 50m instead of the 62.5m I had originally ordered.
I contacted the branch regarding the difference and was told that, as a goodwill gesture, I would be refunded the difference in cost, including the delivery charge. I accepted this, but received no confirmation afterwards.
I've since made several calls chasing the refund and have repeatedly been told my details have been noted, but nobody has followed up. It's now been over a week and I'm still waiting.
I appreciate that stock issues happen, and I was willing to accept the alternative product because I needed to keep my project moving. What has really disappointed me is the lack of communication and having to repeatedly chase a resolution that had already been agreed.
I checked the reviews before ordering, particularly given the cost of the product, and unfortunately my experience has been far from the five-star service I was expecting.

Asked for a price for a RSJ lady said she would phone and let me know but never received it . But on the other hand went to pick up all the timber for a roof and the guys were really helpful.

However, he is often let down by the delivery status which is currently 48 hrs, at best.

I placed an order on 1 July. After the original delivery didn't turn up, the driver eventually arrived three days later — only to discover that the items I'd ordered weren't actually on the lorry.

Nearly three months later, I still don't have the goods and haven't received a refund.

I've repeatedly contacted Lawsons customer service and have been told on numerous occasions that the issue has been escalated directly to Mark, the manager at the New Malden branch, and that he will get it sorted and contact me.

Unfortunately, despite weeks of these assurances, nothing actually happens. Nobody from the branch contacts me, the order isn't delivered and my money isn't refunded.

Mistakes with deliveries happen and I would have had no issue if this had simply been corrected. What I can't understand is how a branch manager can apparently be made aware of an unresolved customer order repeatedly over a period of months without anyone actually resolving it.

I've now formally cancelled the order and requested a full refund. After nearly three months of chasing, I really shouldn't still have to be asking Lawsons to return my money.

I'll update this review if and when the New Malden branch finally resolves it.
