Shocked and sorely disappointed when I went to renew my annual policy. Price last year was a reasonable $1450-ish. Quote this year (with only 1 minor change to medical qualifiers) was over $14,000. Totally untrained and incapable representative on the phone, who could answer no questions and said 'the system generated it, the system is working, there's no one you can talk to to question it'. Suffice it to say, I've gone elsewhere.

CoverMore has asked me for all the following details, only because I wanted to be covered for a trip to Malaysia rather than Vietnam, despite it being in the same region. I just purchased a new policy because this is so much to handle while I'm away. Am I meant to find a Justice of the Peace to witness me signing a statutory declaration?
Here's a portion of the email they sent me:
"You will need to answer the following mandatory questions in full statements:
• Have you already booked your new journey? If yes, please provide the new travel dates.
• Please confirm that there are no claims pending for any amendment or cancellation costs.
You will also need to provide one of the following documents as proof of no travel (the document must indicate the original departure date):
• An invoice showing the correct travel dates (if the policy was issued with incorrect dates)
• An amended invoice showing the updated dates (if the travel agent forgot to make the change)
• A statutory declaration
• A "No Show" confirmation from your transport provider on the intended departure date
• A receipt confirming cancellation of travel plans"

Poor policies written in favour of the company- It has taken many hours out of my already delayed holiday to deal with emails between myself and cover more- they wanted to disregard the fact I had hired and paid a whole house and invited a friend to stay in order to reduce the payout sum. Pathetic!

I am impressed the way Cover-More handles claims. The online claim is very simple, and types of claims are very well categorized.
The system gives ample time to upload evidence of events and relevant invoices.
Cover-More was recommended to me by a friend and in turn I have no hesitation to recommend to more users.

I would definitely purchase travel insurance from Cover More when I travel in the future. I was careful to fully declare my health issues which definitely increased the premium. However I felt reassured when I became unwell on my cruise and I have been fortunate to receive back money to cover the medical expenses

I had to change my flights after an event organiser moved the dates. One airline charged a change fee, and the other made me rebook entirely, meaning I lost the original fare. Covermore covered both the amendment fee and the cost of the cancelled flight.
The online claims process was straightforward. After submitting a bit of extra info, I received a refund within days. Super impressed with how smooth and fast it all was—highly recommend! A+++

Do not use this company for Domestic Travel insurance. The claim form is 15 pages long and is designed to be so complicated as to ensure it is not worth the effort of completing it.
Cancellation due to feeling unwell requires a medical certificate. I was also advised by Virgin airline that I could not cancel the flight by them and Instead had notify the insurance company that flight was being cancelled.

I get travel insurance free through my credit card with covermore and the experience has been so frustrating I have paid for travel insurance with another company for my next trip. Communication is terrible you have to constantly follow up with them, you can't speak to your claims officer unless they call you and mine was rude and hung up on me during our first conversation. I am now unhappy with the outcome called the speak to a supervisor and they wouldn't escalate the call. I had made an error in the form that made it unclear but this could of been resolved when the claims officer called if they hadn't hung up. Very frustrating experience, lots of phone calls with lovely customer service officers that are unsupported by managers and claims officers that show zero compassion or patience. Do not use, the claim process is slow and a terrible experience.

As we are an elderly couple, we found the claim paperwork daunting. However the Cover more consultant was extremely helpful and so patient with me,in my confused state. We have had one claim approved and still waiting on one more. So far great outcome.

I have had a Cover more annual domestic multi-trip cover for a year and only find out after delving into it YOU HAVE TO BIY THE VERY EXPENSIVE COMPREHENSIVE RENTAL CAR COMPANY INSURANCE to be covered for the excess, of which there would obviously be none of you took this out. In other words, there is absolutely no point in having this. I was not told this, it only says it in the fine print - so I have been driving unknowingly uninsured for a year.

I was on a cruise in Europe and had episode of food poisoning on board. Visited the medical centre on ship for treatment and was given a staggering medical bill. I was concerned that my insurance wouldn’t allow this amount for one day of treatment but there was no issue and money was sent to me within one week of claim. So glad I added cruise cover. Thank you Covermore !

The claim originated for having to cancel a booked and paid for trip to Japan and then cruising through Alaska. I was diagnosed with DVT about 10 days prior to flying out of Australia which was distressing after waiting so many months for this trip. I submitted my claim around 12/5/25 with all the necessary documentation. The only disappointment with the processing of this claim was that Cover-More never kept me informed on matters as indicated in their initial acknowledgement email which was promised within 10 business days. I had to contact them on three occasions to ascertain what was going on. The positive thing is that the Claims officer did contact me a couple of times to tell me that they did need some more documentation and they eventually met the claim in full. I found the online claim straightforward enough but it took about 30 business days to get an outcome. Communication needed to improve on this occasion but happy to use Cover-More again for my travel needs.

I have been a policyholder for many years but have made my first claim following a motor vehicle incident in the US. Claim processing was very efficient and I was pleased with the prompt settlement of my claim.

I was hospitalized in South Africa. I put my claim into Covermore last week and just received an email to say it had been accepted and the money would be in my nominated account within 3 days. Such speedy service. I always use Covermore when travelling as they are reliable and keep you informed.

This company is an absolute scam. A legal scam. I purchased travel insurance for Mexico on the 8th of may, and all was okay until I was called a day later by a representative telling me that I needed a further medical review, and the process involved refunding my $531 into a credit voucher which I would then be required to use to purchase a new policy. I did that, and received the new policy, but then I decided after reading so many shocking reviews online, and also after finding much cheaper insurance elsewhere, that I would exercise my right to cancel the policy and receive a refund in 48 hours. That’s where the trouble begins. The rep failed to inform me that by receiving a credit note (which I never wanted) I was forfeiting my right to that refund timeframe. I was now on an 8 week refund policy. So they’ll keep my money for 8 weeks until returning it.
I fought with Racheal, another rep, (I never get the same one), who after hours of arguments agreed to expedite my refund and have it back in less than 5 business days, most probably 2. She actually gave me her word, her literal word, which I recorded on my iPhone because I had a feeling she was telling me porkies.
And of course, 13 days later, they still have my $531, earning interest for a company that doesn’t even pay out on claims. I’ve spent all morning on the phone with them, never getting the same person twice. They just pass you around and I can hear them laughing in the background. They believe it quite funny to be putting people through this kind of stress. This company is a legal fraud and I will be passing all of my recordings and information to a journalist for a prominent Sydney-based news program that reports on scams. Who in Sydney would ever trust them again? And so they shouldn’t be trusted. Travel insurance should be trustworthy and there when you need them, not these fraudsters.

I paid $2000 for travel insurance but when I lost all of my possessions in the Jasper bushfires, I wasn’t entitled to anything? It’s actually disgusting that they can call themselves travel insurance. I called them the day that I found out about my house and I was told over the phone that yes I would be covered for the fires. I spent months going through everything I lost, finding receipts, combing through bank statements and for nothing.
