It was quick and easy. The exiting medical 3 year or over criteria was somewhat confusing. I assume if you have had an existing medical condition, say blood pressure for over three years, then you don't have to list it?

I was overseas and had to have an emergency operation. The most amazing response from this company. From the get go they were there to help and made everything smooth and less stressful. They were always on the front foot ahead of the situation so I did not have to concern myself with the details but on my operation and recovery. Not only did they consult with the doctors and hospitals but would check in on me and ask how I was doing and if I needed anything. They were always professional and helpful and made it feel as if I had someone in my corner as I was in a foreign country this was extremely comforting. They made the whole process of my incident to the operation, recovery and was there with me all along the way until I could safely return home. I would highly recommend this company for anyone who is looking to purchase travel insurance.

Despite my claim being processed in a swift manner, I was dumbfounded by the settlement I received. For context, whilst holidaying in NZ I sadly received news that my father had passed away. I had to make my way back to Perth in a speedy manner to organise the funeral etc. all in all I was out of pocket about $2000 for the unfortunate experience.
Fast forward a month, I had all my documents and receipts in order which I sent off. About a week later I received a settlement of $455. My excess was $200 and the cost for the insurance cover was $100. So Fast Cover paid $255 into my account. After the cost of the insurance I am left with $155.
The following is what I received in a letter regarding the settlement:
"As your father resides in a nursing home, he did not meet the criteria of the close relative condition. Therefore, the maximum amount we will pay is 25% of the claimed expenses."
Let that sink in.
Because of my fathers living conditions they refused to pay the full amount. Travel insurance is there to help people in situations which are out of their control. I would consider a parent passing away (despite their living conditions) a significant life event and one that is entirely out of ones control. Untimely is untimely and a persons worth is not based on whether they live at home or in a nursing home.
I am utterly disgusted with Fast Cover's lack of moral compass and will be taking this matter up with consumer affairs.

Used FastCover to ensure I was protected whilst overseas recently, unfortunately had an unforeseen incident that required me to contact them.
They took over a month to come back to me to say it was my fault and I had shown "lack of care" therefore they will not pay. I disputed on the basis that it was completely out of my control, the circumstance was not a common one and yet they declined after another month and a half, even though they clearly say it will be resolved in 10business days.
They have wasted 2+ months of me following up for nothing, they do not care and I would not recommend going with them, as no matter the scenario, they will advise you are at fault to avoid paying.
Will never purchase with them again.
