Very helpful and understanding
I initially insured my Audi A6 Avant in…
I initially insured my Audi A6 Avant in March 2025 for a reasonable price, not the cheapest, I recently purchased a second hand approved used Audi from a dealership and had a drive away insurance, I immediately contacted Vavista via the portal where it said to contact them directly, I did this and was told it had to referred to the underwriters and could take up to 14 days for a reply, I rang again the next day and they hadn’t heard from the underwriters I asked if they could contact them urgently as my drive away insurance was about to run out, so they did this, then got back to me saying the underwriter hadn’t even looked at it.
I then said I would have to have an answer on that day, they said I could ring back later, I’m a shift worker and unable to have my phone on site, so I said the the policy would have to be cancelled, the operator then said there was a £75 fee for this after much arguing they agreed to waiver the fee, I was then told that it could take up to 28 days for the money owed to me to come back to my account although it came back into my account a lot quicker.
I have also lost 5 months of no claims.
If you are thinking of using this insurance company make sure you are not going to change your vehicle before your expiry date YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

Ok prices to start ... then ADMIN FEES!!!
Absolutely awful company ... completely driven to charge, charge,charge.... £50 to just change number plate? .... £112 to cancel policy? ... £34 per month and had for 99 days due to bereavement... these jokers have charged more than having my 30k car insured for a year?? ... ridiculous fees .. will NEVER use again!

Avoid at All Costs
My experience with Vavista Car Insurance was absolutely awful. I had to cancel my policy as my car broke down and had to be scrapped, I was paying over £215 a month to insure my tiny Peugeot, they still went ahead and charged me after cancellation with zero explanation. I was chasing them for 13 days straight, trying to get answers – emails, phone calls – and got nowhere. No one could tell me what was going on, and the lack of communication was beyond frustrating.
I’ve never dealt with a company so unhelpful. It felt like I was being completely ignored, while they continued to take money from me without any justification. Extremely unprofessional and frankly, unacceptable.
Avoid Vavista if you value your time, money, or sanity.

Terrible, do not go near. Always always read the fine prints before agreeing to the car insurance.
You're not covered to drive another car but it's written right at the bottom of page three of the insurance certificate where no one will see and it is not included in the main body.
Others make it very clear but they did not.

You cannot administer your account…£££ costly
You cannot administer your account online, as the company suggest, so you get hit with an admin charge every time you need to do any changes to your policy. Cheap if you simply want a cover note, £104.08 to cancel a £350 policy, so beware, if you think you might be changing your car or anything in next 12 months, don;t buy their cover. FYI complaint raised, but they are not even FCA regulated in the UK

This is a top car insurer. Excellent quote and ease of use when moving to them. I wish to change my vehicle but the change was very efficiently declined online as the replacement vehicle is too old.
I phoned in as requested and an uber-efficient gentleman by the name of Steve (from Durban) could not have been more helpful.
Age is a bit unfair on the old girl as she's actually a classic 1999 A3 Auto SE hatchback, 50K on the clock and I am the 2nd owner & knew the first. Only a handful were sold in the UK to that specification and colour way, right down to "mussel" coloured seat belts!
I therefore have with regret had to cancel my Vavista policy. In theory a £75 fee is due but this was "dealt with" amicably as the refusal not exactly of my doing.
I will be going back there with a further vehicle for sure. Found initially on Go Compare that I find consistently better than its close namesake. From there Vavisita offered an online bespoke approach and a phenomenal deal de-duplicating breakdown cover etc.
Go for it!

Total incompetence demonstrated from the start of my quote to the sorry end! Overseas call centre , very noisy in the background, could not hear clearly or understand the accent. On average took about 30 minutes before i got answered . Recieved conflicting information from different advisors. Cheap is not the best value here , this lot are amateurs . Had to request a refund of my payment , they had the audacity to charge me £25.00 cancellation fee even though the policy was not live for another week. Absolute Disgrace. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS OR BE PREPARED FOR INEFFICIENCY AND A SHAMBOLIC CHAOS!!!!

Easy process to follow, and good price car insurance it had everything built in that I required.
What 14 day cooling off period?
I tried to cancel my insurance immediately after buying it (28 days before it was due to come into force). They charged a £25 cancellation fee despite UK law giving the consumer a 14 day cooling off period. They claim (I disagree) that this is justified by their T&C's. Let the buyer beware.

This company are not transparent at all. They hide their cons in the small print. Be very careful! The final amount I was given when I changed my car seemed fine at first but when my direct debit came out charging me double I called asking them to explain (by this time its too late to do anything). I was informed the amount I was given was ON TOP of what I was already paying! It didnt tell me this anywhere just gave me the new amount (which looks normal as it was about the same as what I was paying for the new car). Turns out its hidden in the small print and its worded very confusing making you think you will just continue paying by finance. So its up to you as the buyer to work out what your final monthly payments will be. Very clever scam! AVOID this company! Not transparent and not how to ethically run a business!!

I cant believe how rude the advisor was…
I cant believe how rude the advisor was when I called to set up a policy, huffing down the phone because I was asking questions about a quote like I was putting her out I asked for a manager and she totally ignored my request didn't even acknowledge what I said. Not helpful at all - clearly in the wrong job. Sounded like they were having a party in the back ground - maybe I was spoiling her fun by calling. Must be losing a lot of business by sending your call centres abroad - shocking service.
