I called Ronnie of Michael Lyon solicitors in my hour of need. He really knows his stuff as well as being kind and calm. He took so much pressure of me when I was climbing the walls just by being lovely man who knows his stuff. If you feel sick with worry over a car matter this is your man.

got caught speeding at 96mph in Dumfries Galloway, was really worried about getting points or loosing my licence as it was my first time getting points and also due to work commitments, went to one lawyer wasn't really getting much hope plus was expecting 6 points Atleast, so after doing alot of research reading reviews came across Michael Lyons firm I then contacted them and got through to Ronnie who was so helpful, I explained him the full situation from there onwards he took on my case and then the end results were really good only got 3 points. There are lawyers out there that give you advise and make you fall for them but this firm was so honest and upfront Michael Lyons firms knows what they're doing in what they do best very highly recommended cannot explain how much of good service they provided me plus on top Ronnie Simpson even saved me going to court at all they dealt with everything. I was charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving following an accident near Ullapool in August 2016 (the police had only charged me with careless driving at the time).

I have lived in France for 23 years and inadvertently drove away from a lay-by on the right-hand side of the road in my left-hand drive French-registered car. On going round a right-hand bend about 100 metres from the lay-by I collided with a car coming the other way. In court Martin Black did an excellent job in getting the Crown to accept the much reduced charge of careless driving following the evidence of only one police witness. So, instead of facing a minimum two year ban and the extended driving test at the end, I only received a six month ban.

Michael Lyon Solicitors were clear from the beginning that they didn't think the original charge was appropriate and kept me abreast of developments in the months before the trial. Their service is thoroughly professional and I would recommend them without hesitation.

It was a recommendation that led me to contacting Michael Lyon after feeling unhappy with the solicitors I had originally discussed my case with. My first meeting was with Martin who had a professional & matter of fact manner. He instilled confidence in the legal expertise within the team & I elected to move. I then met with Ronnie who has an empathetic yet focused approach in which I was thankful for as I was more than scared of the consequences of a guilty verdict. I felt listened to and that was important to me as I had been charged with drink driving but arrested a couple of hours after the event. A toxicologist report was prepared which demonstrated my integrity as it corroborated my version of events. Ronnie had also prepared another, second defence & on the eve of the trial, anxious as I was, I felt comfortable & confident I had a lawyer I trusted to do the right thing. He had fought the fiscal on their request to ask the toxicologist to attend court (at my cost which was expensive). I would have gladly paid the fee but it gave me even more trust that he was fighting on my behalf - not just trying to generate fees for the firm. I'm almost disappointed I didn't get to see him in action on the day of the (much adjourned) trial. But the relief I felt when he called at 5.30pm on the evening before to say the PF was no longer calling to court was the best result I could have hoped for. I cannot thank you or the rest of the team enough! It was a long 18 months & I've given a little detail away about my case to hopefully help others who face a similar predicimant to mine. I cannot recommend this team highly enough - they are more expensive than competitors but you are paying for a high level of expertise & a true client focus.

I know first hand now, why they are. Everyone I met at the firm are great and very professional. They make you feel at ease and take charge of everything from the start. On the day of the trial Ronnie showed up, spoke to the Procurator fiscal convinced them that the charge had no public interest and it was dropped after speaking to the other driver. I walked away happy and most of all with a clean license. Thanks again Ronnie and good work. I can't recommend them enough.

I was charged with Careless Driving as the result of a crash. A woman was parked at a bus stop, she pulled out and I swerved to avoid her, however as a result of that I crashed into another vehicle head on. I contacted Michael Lyon Solicitors and Ronnie Simpson represented me. At court having spoke to Ronnie, I initially thought I would be found guilty, however having listened to Ronnie question the witnesses, I thought what a great job he is doing. After having advice to contact a Solicitor I found Michael's number online for a free consultation. He advised that my guilty plea to dangerous driving had being tendered incorrectly which I previously thought was only a speeding offence. He was truthful and honest with myself rather than telling me what I wanted to hear. Michael, Ronnie and Martin all took a view into my case which meant great deal rather than just being passed over as I had with other solicitors' in the area before calling Michael. The court correctly reduced this to a careless driving charge after reviewing the footage from the police car which left me with 5 points and a £540 fine rather than the initial outcome of being banned for 12 months!

On being accused of dangerous driving which holds a minimum ban of 12 months, I was referred to Michael Lyon Solicitors by a family friend. I was immediately impressed by the knowledge and professionalism of Michael himself followed by everyone at the firm. They handled everything on my behalf keeping me suitably informed at all times. On the day of the trial I personally didn’t have much hope for keeping my license especially as I already had 3 points, however my representative on the day, Martin Black worked what can only be described as ‘his magic’ and my charge was reduced to careless driving allowing me to keep my license albeit receiving 8 points. I was over the moon with the outcome and in all honesty did not see it coming. I would highly recommend the firm to anyone in a similar position.

I received highly skilled, accurate guidance and advice from the minute I started dealing with Michael Lyons firm. From speaking to Michael personally in the first instance, to appearing in court with Ronnie Simpson representing me. I was four and a half times over the limit when breathalised and could have been facing 24 months, a sizeable fine and possibly forfeiture of my vehicle. I cannot put in to words my feelings of relief when Ronnie turned this around to 9 months disqualification and a £300 fine. As i need my licence for my job i was terrified of losing my licence. I was refered to Michael Lyon Solicitors via a family friend. Ronnie advised me i would not have to attend court as I live over three house away.
