Unethical Practice – Charged Me Twice for One Stay
I had a very disappointing experience with Astoria Hotel Thessaloniki.
I initially tried to book the hotel through Booking.com, but my credit card was declined. The system showed “Action required,” and the reservation was not confirmed. I then updated my payment details and successfully made a second reservation just a few minutes later.
To my surprise, the hotel charged me for both reservations, even though the first one was not valid and clearly marked as failed in the system. I contacted the hotel with screenshots and bank statements as proof, but they refused to refund the duplicate charge. Their response was simply, “You made two bookings.”
This is unethical and unacceptable. The hotel charged me for a service that was never confirmed and never delivered.
Be careful before booking here – they do not respect basic consumer rights.
