Lack of transparency

As a landlord, I cannot recommend Haart’s rent guarantee insurance.

The policy lacks transparency, and the claims process is inconsistent. In my experience, a confirmed payment was later denied, with unclear explanations. Communication was slow and often unhelpful.

If you are a landlord, I strongly suggest arranging your own insurance separately and not relying on Haart’s scheme.

I had several viewings booked to look…

I had several viewings booked to look at different properties around Doncaster. (Armthorpe, Bessacarr Lakeside specifically) I arrived at the first property and waited for the estate agent for 15 minutes before calling to check if everything was ok and to see if she was stuck in traffic.

The person who answered said they would call me back within 10 minutes. When they eventually called back, they told me that all of my viewings had been cancelled.

I received no communication beforehand, no phone call, email, or text message — to inform me of the cancellations. I was only told after I had already arrived and waited.

This was a complete waste of time and extremely unprofessional. I had booked a day off work specifically to attend these viewings.

Absolutely awful. Cold calling and sending friends to viewings. Also “old car’ policy for staff. Absolutely useless bunch.

Do they actually want to sell properties

My partner and I had an initial phone call with Ben over a new build shared ownership property advertised. Which went very well, told we meet all qualifications for the property. After phone call we went for look around the area the property was was fully aware it is still in construction. Whilst we we there, we decided to pop into another estate agents show home to see if they had any more information for us that we could use to decide if we wanted the property only to be advised that Haart have no properties on the estate. Since this My partner has emailed twice and called 5 times to be told everytime that ben is on a call and will call her back, this call back is yet to happen as is a response to the emails and I have also emailed once and called 3 times again to be told ben is on a call and will call back, guess what no call back received and no reply to my email. Do you actually want to sell the properties you have available? Because you're not going to if you don't come back to your customers.

I had a really great experience with…

I had a really great experience with Haart estate agents in Lincoln when I was looking to buy a house. I put down a deposit for new house however had to withdraw and Victoria Blore was very brilliant, she chased and made sure I was able to get my deposit back & gave me lots of support and updates. Victoria deserved lots of praise for the great customer service she gave me & I would really recommend Haart estate agents in the future and particularly Victoria. I felt very looked after & even through I could not go through with the sale she still made me feel like a valued customer. I was very satisfied as a customer.

Aggressive marketing NOT appreciated

I’m selling with another, unaffiliated agent, and just received a call on my mobile from a Haart agent in the next town, who’ve I’ve but been in touch with, and if I ever have it would have been years ago. No idea how they got my number! Surely not GDPR compliant? And frankly none of their business how my sale is progressing it if I’ve found another home. Please go away.

Awful service

Awful customer service.
My dad has been letting out a property with Haart Coventry. They did not response to emails or return calls.
When I took over to elevate his stress. It took multiple calls and emails, I even had other branches contact them on my behalf and still no response. Eventually after about 6 weeks of trying I requested the checked the property. I was told on two occasions it would be done, as was the tenant and the agent failed to turn up and didn’t not communicate this with either party.
I raised a complaint. I was told that communication would improve. Sadly this was not the case.
I emailed question which were ignored and instead of answering I would be asked questions about something else.
We have now sold the property with another agent as they left such a bitter taste and my dad could no longer face letting his property.

My experience with Haart Ipswich

My experience with Haart Ipswich has been disappointing at best.

The team’s behaviour was unprofessional and, at times, borderline bullying. I informed Haart that I wished to come off the market during my two-week cooling-off period. When I did this, Matthew (who was full of charm during the valuation) reacted immaturely and defensively. He later called to tell me I couldn’t withdraw because of a clause in the contract that allegedly waived the cooling-off period if signed in store — despite me being clearly told at the point of signing that I did have a two-week cooling-off period.

After several back-and-forth conversations, I escalated the issue to the area manager. I reluctantly agreed to reduce the contract term purely because I wanted my property sold and wanted the situation resolved.

I then reduced the asking price to help generate interest, but the service remained poor. They managed to secure only two viewings, both of which were handled badly. On the first, Ashley arrived 30 minutes early with the potential buyer, having never been to my property before — meaning she was effectively viewing it for the first time alongside the buyer. On the second viewing, Alex arrived late and missed it entirely, leaving me to show the buyer around myself.

There was a potential third viewing, but I needed to rearrange the time. I provided Haart with several alternative slots. After hearing nothing for four days, I contacted them to check the message had even been passed on. I received a vague response from Ashley, which made it clear the matter hadn’t been chased at all.

Upon leaving Haart, I was provided with a list of 12 people who had apparently been “introduced” to my property. Given that I was only aware of three of these, and only two actual viewings ever took place, I’m left questioning what arrangements — if any — were made for the other nine. One can’t help but wonder whether, had those introductions been handled properly, my property might have sold by now.

I could list many more examples of how this company failed to meet even basic expectations. Overall, they have proven themselves to be completely ineffective and unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone and would never use them again — either as a seller or a buyer.

Avoid.

I rarely leave negative reviews

I rarely leave negative reviews, and I always try to see the positive in any situation—but unfortunately, my experience with this real estate agency has been the worst I’ve had in three years as a landlord.

Communication is practically nonexistent. Emails and messages go unanswered, and there is no sense of accountability or professionalism. Despite taking their fees and a percentage of the rent, there is little to no actual service provided in return.

One of the most frustrating issues is their failure to collect rent on time. As a landlord, you expect this to be handled efficiently, yet I’ve repeatedly had to chase tenants myself—something that completely defeats the purpose of using an agency in the first place.

Overall, the lack of commitment, responsiveness, and basic competence is shocking. This has been an incredibly disappointing experience, and I strongly advise others to think twice before using their services.

I’m relieved that this contract is finally coming to an end and will definitely be looking elsewhere. Avoid at all costs.

WORST EVER

A week of chase up as one of the agent was away. Called even 2 times in one day. Promised follow up which never existed.
I have received also a rude email - from the agwnt saying “ did not see i was on Annual leave, my message was clear!they basically pick up clients if they like it or not. Stay away.
Countless emails were sent, the agent clearly told me on the phone “ the property is NOT finish to build by end of april. “ now she is saying that the people needs to move by end of april. I dont know if they are scam? I thought they had a GREAT reputation but they are biggest scam ever! And for people like me who needs to move and need ahouse is just a lor of stress frustration and lack of trust ! Stay away

Poor Customer Service - full of promise then silence

I had a very disappointing experience with this estate agent due to their poor customer service. Communication was inconsistent and often delayed, leaving me to chase for updates. When responses did come through, they were vague and unhelpful, which only added to the frustration. No acknowledgement of emails only to be told passed to another colleague who was on annual leave (helpful).

What stood out most was the lack of professionalism and accountability. Issues were not handled efficiently, and it often felt like my concerns were being dismissed rather than resolved. For something as important as buying/selling a property, I expected a much higher level of care and attention.

Overall, the experience was stressful and unnecessarily difficult. I would not recommend this agency based on my experience, and I hope they take steps to improve their communication and customer service in the future.

Concerned about reliability of cars but unwilling to provide their own

I would never ever rent a house out through this company, or buy a house through them

I do tbf, live in Manchester and earn a "middle to higher income" too. The only reason why I even upgraded my car was because I wanted cheap electricity and to get that, I needed an EV of some description. This happens to be under 10 years old

The company I work for, doesn't bill expenses for cars over 10 years but they do allow you to expense them for train + taxis. If a car passes it's MOT, has no mechanical issues etc.., there is no reason why the car isn't seen as reliable. The 10 year cut off is an arbitrary rule. There are two year old cars that are less reliable than 15 year old cars.

If the company truly cared, they'd refund the taxis / public transport expenses by employees but instead, they refuse to employee 18 year olds who have high insurance costs anyway, just simply for the age of their car. Their 2014 car has also done half the mileage of my 2018 car. In theory, my car should be less reliable due to added wear and tear

When looking to buy a house, I didn't care about the car that the estate agent had. I cared about the service they offered. It seems that this company also is one that's terrible to tenants and great for landlords. This is tbf the norm but it shouldn't be this way. If I wanted to rent a house out, I'd want an estate agent who would be good for both tenant and landlord. These arbitrary rules are part of why people hate estate agents. If they were that concerned, they'd provide a company car but they don't. Apparently they wish to socialise the cost of their running expenses by forcing it on their employees , whilst privatising the profits they make
