We recently purchased our new home from David Wilson Homes, and the entire experience has been outstanding from start to finish. As a developer, they have truly set the standard for what buying a new build should be like. From our very first visit, the sales team was incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely caring, keeping us updated throughout the entire journey and making the process feel incredibly smooth. The house itself has been built to a phenomenal standard, with an exceptional level of finish and attention to detail across every room. Even when it came to the expected minor snags that come with any new build, the team handled them promptly, professionally, and with zero fuss. We couldn't be happier with our new home and would highly recommend David Wilson Homes to anyone looking for a premium property and a seamless buying experience.

The team have been excellent right the way through. They really helped me with the process of buying my first home, explaining everything I need and always able to answer questions. Once I moved in, the after care support has been excellent- with emails and repairs being completed extremely quickly, the same day in some cases

We knew what we were getting and although we did not have any input to choices of kitchen cupboards and worktop, or having a shower fitted in the main bathroom, the house is proving to be an enjoyable experience.

Moving into a new home can be both exciting and stressful, but the customer service team made the entire post-completion experience seamless from start to finish.
From day one, every member of the team has been professional, friendly, approachable, and incredibly efficient. No matter what questions or issues arose, they responded promptly, kept me fully informed, and always followed through on their commitments. It's clear they genuinely care about providing outstanding customer service, and that gave me real confidence throughout the process.
A special mention must go to Kerry, whose leadership and dedication have been nothing short of exceptional. Her communication has been outstanding—clear, proactive, and reassuring at every stage. She consistently kept me updated, managed every query with professionalism, and ensured that any concerns were dealt with quickly and effectively.
It's rare to encounter a team that combines professionalism, efficiency, and genuine care so well. They have exceeded my expectations in every respect, and I couldn't be more grateful for the support they've provided since moving into my new home.
Thank you to Kerry and the entire team for making what could have been a stressful experience such a positive one.

Trying to speak to someone about a problem regarding the onsite sewage pumping station. Have spent hours trying to find any suitable numbers without success. Calls to sales offices about an existing home are dropped. A call to their head office was dropped after waiting for 15 minutes with a repeat message of ‘your call is important to us and the receptionist is on another call and will be with you shortly’ What nonsense. Only one switchboard operator for their HO!!?? Busy on one call for 15 minutes!!?? Sorry I don’t believe it. Why won’t they speak to customers????

If you would like your road still not to have tarmac applied to it, with crumbling drive ways and nothing but fob off excuses as to why they have not tarmacked the road 2 years after the development is finished, then this will be the builder you want ! AVOID this builder at all costs if you are sensible. They say they are "chasing it" and this is all we have heard for the last 2 years. They will still allow you to be paying services charges for these roads too !

Mark was polite and good at what he was doing he said he would organise a revisit for painting and other jobs to be completed. However not his fault heard this before without follow up.

On writing the previous review I have now been sent a copy of the letter which DW claim to have sent 1000 residents on the development on the 19th June.
However there are 3-4000 residents here affected by the current road closure extention to 6m - implying 75% of people were not provided with any appropraite upfront consultation and communication forming the basis of my original conplaint with you last week where I requested a copy of the letter and dates for when the road works will most impact our stretch of the road to enable us some notice to make plans or avoid plans as approval has been given for 8-6pm 7 days a week works for 6m.....
The packet arrived yesterday containing a copy of said letter allegedly sent and a cover note.
Secondly, the covering note makes a clear bullet pointed statement that this letter was 'hand delivered prior to works commencing' yet there is no evidence of this:
- We don't have the letter confirmed as delivered
- We have cameras showing there has never been a delivery
- Letters DIDN'T go to 75% of people impacted
- Shambolic comms planning which didn't prioratise groups impacted meaning we would have been a priority group due to our location.
- the other information requested is missing entirely, pertaining to the timeframe/phase for the works scheduled to be at our location of the road, this would be the correct notice of disruption to us, so as to enable some management of noise levels as we and many here, work from home and weekends will be disrupted with 8-6pm drilling and shouting as its just 1 year since previous disruption digging up the entire length of the road - disrupting a second summer with 8am - 6pm works 7 days a week.
- the letter also confirms driveway access will NOT be impacted yet this is contrary to what I was told on the phone last week that driveway access may be impacted.
Explicitly stating this letter was 'hand delivered prior to works commencing' with no evidence of this is nonsense.
Gasslighting was made a criminal offence in 2015 and carries a hefty penalty, I trust you seek to follow facts and evidence before making claims which are unsubstanciated or evidenced. No one is entitled to invent facts. You state yourself that 75% of the residents here were not supplied with any communication what so ever as you confimed in the call last week to have supplied 1000 letters (for 3-4000 homes) to a construction company to deliver them, yet no one here appears to have recieved anything.
This really is unacceptable behaviour from any organisation, given my outrage stems from the fact you have never engaged with the public on your actions which Oxforshire Country Council have confirmed don't meet the laws for the extention as they don't meet the legalities required to shut the road for 6m. This involves safety aspects and disruption to the public, businesses and the wider aspects raised in Calum Miller MP's address to both you and Dorchester. Details of this letter are now available online. Oxford mail, news 26268983.bicester-mp-complains-housebuilder-closure-road
Not to mention planning consent was for 60 houses and you are now building 160.
Wholey unaceptable behaviour from large organisations who choose to breach our countires laws and carry on regardless bankrupt of ethics and integrity.
We purchased a new-build home from David Wilson Homes expecting the high standard associated with their “award-winning” reputation. Unfortunately, our experience has been the complete opposite.
We exchanged contracts over two months ago and reported numerous defects within the first week, providing a detailed report to the site manager. Despite repeated attempts to have these issues resolved, we have still been unable to move into our home because the workmanship remains unacceptable.
The defects include a damaged upgraded kitchen, uneven and damaged upgraded bathroom tiling, poor joinery, uneven plastering, damaged doors, scratched kitchen windows, poorly fitted carpets, loose paving, and poorly laid turf to keep it brief however our list goes on. Much of the remedial work carried out has been disappointing and has failed to resolve the underlying problems.
As a result, we have been paying mortgages on two properties while waiting for our home to be brought up to an acceptable standard. The financial impact, inconvenience and stress this has caused have been significant.
We expected a home ready to live in, not one requiring extensive remedial work before we could even move in. We heavily regret this purchase.

I purchased my property just over 2 years ago but have waited til now to post a review so I could write an honest review of my experience of buying a David Wilson home.
On moving in, found lots of issues, mainly from very shoddy workmanship , things that should have been noted and put right prior to us moving in. These issues were addressed but it meant over 3 weeks of workman of some description being constantly in the house. After a couple of months
, site manager informed me that I would receive a questionnaire and asked me to say yes to question about if I’d recommend DWH to friends, which I felt I had to do as there were still issues arising with the house and I didn’t want to upset the site manager. Perhaps this is how they get the 5 star builder status?
In our experience, issues are addressed readily in early days but the nearer to the end of the 2 year period of putting things right, the harder it is to get them rectified. When contacting after care service, we were sent links to information of how to rectify issues ourselves. After the 2 years and once the sales office has closed, it becomes even harder. DWH are great at giving excuses as to why it’s not their responsibility and , if you do get a response to emails, especially from employees higher up from the initial customer service, the tone can feel intimidating. It can take a long time and you have to fight hard to get them to address issues at times, mainly after you’ve been in a while.
One major issue DWH refuse to address is the rear garden becoming waterlogged in one area in the winter. After I responded to a curt email telling me that because I’d put in some flower beds and a patio, I’d null and voided the warranty, and me challenging this, they sent an ex site Manager, not a groundsman, to ‘inspect’ it. The ‘so called ‘ report that ensued listed reasons why it wasn’t due to lack of drainage and a very uneven lawn that was the issue but various factors that were not their responsibility, including heavy rainfall, leather jackets and sheds in neighbouring gardens which are no where near the area that gets water logged. The house is on a slight hill and we have a drain that runs along the side of the house on the driveway. I was asked by this site manager if we had put this in ourselves! Seems the site manager didn’t know it was put in during the build! The house is in an area prone to flooding and DWH have put in various measures around public areas of the site to combat this but refuse to assist with preventing a waterlogged garden.
If you do decide to purchase a DWH property, be very cautious about the protection of covenants that they tell you are legally binding. Once you’ve paid your money, you get told DWH don’t enforce them, so we can’t understand why they exist.
My advice is think very carefully before buying a DWH property. Although we have only had minor issues with the actual building so far, once they have your money, they lose interest.
Update following comment below from DWH.
We have supplied information requested but note review has not been verified but marked as unprompted. The review was prompted by the attitude from DWH regarding issues with the drainage in our garden . Deliberately waited until after first 2 years to be able to write an honest review.
