Great way to give money for UK taxpayers
This is the easiest way to give to registered charities. Gift aid automatically included. And makes admin super easy for higher rate taxpayers
I don't object too much to the 4% fee but thought it could be a bit lower
Most bad reviews are for CAF Bank - just ignore these if all you are doing is giving. I suspect the rating is 4.5+ for donations only
Found a bad review for donations where a guy was complaining about his user name. Because he and two of his brothers shared the same (anglicised) first name - so common! Another one was where a dormant account had been closed. Ignore ...

I have had a CAF account for years
I have had a CAF account for years, its what I use for (almost ) all my charitable giving. It is straightforward for me to keep an eye on my account, knowing that a Gift Aid claim has been made on my behalf. And it is straightforward for me to make a donation to the charity I wish to support, including the choir I sing with, as well as local and national charities.

Bad practice
I used my CAF account to make an emergency donation for relief work in Nepal. I had no idea it would take so long for CAF to make the transfer and had no choice but to make the payment again directly.

You know it is a registered charity and not a possible scam.
Verified charities.it is so easy to donate to a non registered charity, annd then wonder where the funds have been used,
Easy to find a registered charity, verify and donate.
Permanent record of all transactions and the tax refund gives extra funds to donate.
You can donate anonymously, but let someone know by email that you have donated to a charity that you said you would support. Very useful for donations following a death.
