I purchased my new car on Saturday, as we arrived home it came up with a fault “front radar blocked” as we have looked at the radar we can see that there is a large crack on the front bumper where the radar is. I spoke to the manager Matthew Broadhead at Sheffield he was no help at all. I have logged a complaint and still waiting for a call back from head office, all the while my car is sat on the driveway and I’m scared to use it because the radar system is a big safety element of the car. I also don’t want it to be used against me if I use the car. Not happy with my experience at all.

From the moment I walked in yesterday 07/08/26 I was welcomed by 2 very lovely people on reception and got me in the right direction to the car I was looking to buy
My sales assistant was Adam and he was extremely friendly and helpful and had a handful of knowledge of the grey bmw 1 series I was buying he made the whole process as smooth as possible from start to finish the service held to a high standard compared to other garages I have been too this review doesn’t do any justice the staff were brilliant and went above and beyond too meet the customers expectations I will defiantly be a returning customer in the future

purchased a 2021 Vauxhall Corsa from Big Motoring World on 19 July 2026, expecting to buy a reliable vehicle that had undergone their advertised 200-point inspection. Unfortunately, within around two weeks of ownership I began experiencing problems with the vehicle, including difficulty selecting gears. I arranged an independent vehicle health check, which identified concerns with the wet timing belt, clutch, front brake discs and tyres. I also had to replace the front tyre immediately at my own expense after being advised by the garage that it had a dangerous bubble and was unsafe to drive.
Since reporting these issues, I have spent days making phone calls, sending emails, obtaining independent reports and chasing updates. Every time I provide the information requested, I seem to be asked for something else, which has made the whole process incredibly stressful and time-consuming.
Although some members of staff have been polite and tried to help, the communication has been inconsistent. I have spoken to multiple different advisers and have often been given different information, meaning I have repeatedly had to chase my complaint myself.
I was also surprised to discover that the advertised 200-point inspection is not an RAC inspection carried out by RAC technicians. When I requested the inspection record for my vehicle, the only documentation available was a generic pass/fail checklist with no technician notes, photographs or measurements, despite significant issues being identified by an independent garage shortly after purchase.
I was particularly disappointed by the response regarding the wet timing belt. After providing an independent garage report recommending replacement due to its condition, I was told that because there were no warning lights on the dashboard, their technicians considered the vehicle safe to drive. I did not feel this properly addressed the independent garage’s assessment or explained why they disagreed with it.
I have also had to pay £80 for an independent health check and £65 to replace an unsafe tyre while trying to resolve this matter.
At the time of writing, my complaint is still ongoing. I hope Big Motoring World resolves the matter fairly, and if they do I will happily update this review. However, based on my experience so far, I cannot recommend buying a vehicle from them.

We had arranged to have a car delivered (£129) to Norwich branch. We arrived on time and had to wait more than half an hour before someone came to see us. The person who worked with us was excellent and this poor review in no way reflects on her.
The car was a mess and should not have been put up for sale by Big MW. There were many deep dents and scratches inside two of the doors. There were scratches on most of the body panels. One of the rear seats was faulty and unsafe. A protective flap in boot area kept falling down. In the driver footwell the hard plastic matting was torn badly. I could go on. The price of the car was in the middle range for this model despite manager saying it was priced for its condition.
Because of the state of the car we were told the transfer cost would be refunded. It hasn’t been.
We expected much more from BMW. Disappointing.

Please do not purchase warranty from this company. I purchased a car in January the salesman in the shop was lovely! No issues with him. However after around 2 months I started having issues with the car, I was advised to take it for a diagnostic which I did, I’ve had back and forth emails with the warranty company, it is now August and my issue has not been dealt with. I took my car to Vauxhall for the diagnostic and the mechanic stated the car had multiple faults including the break and timing belt. I wish I would had read the reviews before purchasing my car. If you use this company do not purchase the warranty, save your money for any future repairs. They will not assist you or pay or for any repairs it’s a con!

Excellent service. Not too pushy. They give plenty of time for decision making. Aneesah, our sales person was very understanding and knew when to move on from a sale of their extras.

Friendly, professional and caring staff. The purchase process was straightforward, with clear communication. I'd be even happier if they could consider offering a small discount on the final price.

Brought a car Dec 2025. Car was damaged while waiting to be collected (dent in the wheel arch) they refused to sort this. We had waited over an hour to collect by this point so I let it go. We were offered the warranties 2000 insurance and we said no at first due to them refusing to pay out with a car my husband had brought. We were assured that BMW had “brought the company” due to this issue and wouldn’t have any issues!!! Well an auxiliary battery made my brakes fail almost causing a massive accident (Range Rover sport so heavy car) and they have told me they DONT pay out for batteries as they are wear and tear. Why sell me a car that’s a hybrid and most of the systems in the car are powered by auxiliary batteries. Shocking customer service. 40 minutes plus each time you try to call. Been left with a £460 bill and nightmares about a near miss an accident. Don’t go near the company
Update * you have already had a complaint from me to your after sales team and you will not do anything about the repair or the damage so I am not willing to do another one! You are clear that my policy DOES NOT cover auxiliary batteries which I still feel is ridiculous giving the fact that my car is run mainly by a system of batteries. The car has broken down again since writing my review and needed to be recovered from the A24 on Saturday evening so I am again without a vehicle and properly about to get another repair bill! Quite frankly I am so stressed out about the whole thing.

Awful experience. Reported that my brakes were faulty whilst car was under warranty. Car was taken to two garages for diagnoses. Company ignored advice recommended by mechanic and are refusing to fix faulty brakes.

***DO NOT BUY OFF THESE SCAMMERS***
Bought a car off Big Motoring World in Sep 25 and went to the Leeds depot to view the car. When I arrived the reception asked a manager who was dealing with me and I quote "Don't know just give them to someone". Test drove the car and everything seemed fine so bought it. Minor issues : I was told it had Sat Nav (the nav card turned out to be missing) and they valeted the car which took an hour and it came back in worse condition (used some kind of cleaner that turned the trim white). Major issues: The cars timing belt tensioner started to fail in the Oct 25 which in their defence they booked me in to a AA rated garage. However the 'fix' failed and it reoccurred in Nov 25. This time Big Motoring Works techs said the noise was normal and part of the car. After some arguing they agreed to put it back in the garage where it was found the tensioner needed replacing. After this, the virtual dashboard started failing in Dec 25 with complete failure in Feb 26. They said and I quote" Don't take it to main dealer as it'll cost too much". The car spent Feb - May in and out of the garage trying various fixes that was done out of my own pocket as Big Motoring Worlds communication was poor or non-existant. The fault was finally rectified after taking it to VW main dealer. Big Motoring World did pay for some diagnostics and refunded my costs but only after sending a legal Letter Before Action and getting the CEO involved. Fast forward to Jul 26, 8 months after the timing belt tensioner issue and it's failed again. I've emailed Big Motoring World but basically been told that they aren't interested despite it being their repair that has failed.
I've had the car for 11 months and it's spent the majority of its time sat in the garage or on the drive waiting to go into the garage. . Once you give them your money they simply don't care, they only respond and take notice when you start legal action against them.
My experience isn't unique seems they have form for selling cars that have multiple issues and then make it as difficult as possible to get anything done to rectify it in the hope you get so frustrated you do it yourself.
Save yourself the hassle and buy somewhere else.

Very bad experience of purchasing a vehicle with them.
Wrong and misleading information on documents during purchase and hand over the vehicle. Pushing for collection but the vehicle is not ready. i cant use the vehicle more than a week after collect it with full paid. issue till now still not yet resolved.

Worst experience ever, do NOT buy from this company!!! Having to take them to court after being misled and miss sold, having raised 6 mechanical issues within 14 days of purchase they still haven’t taken any accountability and have ignored all consumer rights acts.
Company should be shut down, absolute shambles and pretty much just a massive scam.
Save yourself the hassle and stress and buy from an actual dealership because I sure wish we had now.

Lucas was amazing for the handover . We almost didn’t buy the car because we weren’t told about the luxury Tax at the time of purchase ( which was 2 days before the handover ) . The manager Mayla also stepped in to help and sort things out and was amazing . The Volvo xc40 .. so far is a dream car and ticks every box . So thank you Lucas and all the best in life . Thank you Mayla as well .We didn’t buy any extras even though they kept steering us in that direction .
Will definitely recommend Lucas .
Thank you .

Yet to collect the car but a word about the ridiculous high pressure attempt to sell a warranty, paint and fabric upgrades.
Refuse to participate in their scripted sales techniques. They cut our trade in offer in half but added it back on again if we bought the paint upgrade for £1 a month. Presumably so they could claim commission. It's all very unprofessional and potentially illegal.

Please do not fall for purchasing a warranty through Big Motoring World.
Unfortunately, the all singing, all dancing warranty (warranty 2000) was missold to me when purchasing my car two years ago. It added £2000 to the car, and I've tried to claim three times and have been rejected each time. I may aswell have thrown the money away. My last issue is the air con not working. The warranty has a tick at the side stating it's covered, and when Ethan sold me the warranty, it was stated " this is the best cover you can get, it's the most covered warranty you'll find, anything that goes wrong with these parts are covered"
My air con repairs that are £600 to fix are apparently not covered as it is the condensor that's leaking, and it could have been caused by a foreign object whilst driving? Could have been, not definitely the reason? But, they will not pay.
I have been unable to claim anything through this warranty and have had numerous issues with the car since day one.
My only option was to speak to Big Motoring World direct, as surely they would help. How wrong was I. Apparently After Sales doesn't exist either!
After clearly being told, that they had to change warranty companies, as they were having too many complaints from customers, and do not use Warranty 2000 anymore, they still wouldn't help.
I stated that I genuinely believe I was missold this product and have wasted £2000. Still no help!
This is so disappointing from a company as big as Big Motoring World, and especially after feeling like it's been promised I couldn't go wrong buying the warranty.
I really don't want this car anymore, but feel nervous about changing it with anyone, as my trust has been abused, and although I fully understand, the company is about making money, there should also be some customer service too. Very upsetting!
Thank you for your reply. Just to confirm that I did already speak in person to the manager of Big Motoring World (Paul) who told me there was nothing they could do, even though I felt like I'd been missold the warranty. I did state that I would check with the Motoring ombudsman and he said that I needed to do what I felt was right.
I feel it's right to let others know what experience I have had.

Awful company - stay clear. After sales awful after reporting an issue the minute I drove away. Won’t help or resolve anything that is within the warranty and customer service absolutely terrible. Will never buy from them again
