Sub par quality

Delivery was fine, but the wine is terrible. We have tried 4 of the wines and 2 we did not even finish and the other two were 2 buck Chuck quality at best. Can't believe all the people who rate their wine as 4.5 stars.

They need to take responsibility for their mistakes

My issue is not necessarily with the wine itself (because I just got my order) but with the delivery process. I specifically requested that it be delivered to a local Dollar General because not only was I going to be out of town that week, but I didn't want it to be delivered in my conservative neighborhood. The FedEx guy attempted to deliver it to my house and when we didn't answer the door, he gave it to my neighbor who signed for it. I ended up getting it when I got home but the problem is that WineInsiders didn't take responsibility for this. They blamed FedEx. The FedEx guy just delivered it to the address on the box and gave it to my neighbor when I didn't answer the door. That sounds like a Wine Insiders issue to me.

Putrid

In a word. . .crap. Husband insists on continuing to do business with them as he likes the wine selections better than what he can get in a store. Not worth it to me tho because I have a life too and it's a pain in the ass to either go out of the way to FedEx Office to pick the monthly box up or wait at home ALL DAMN DAY FOR IT as it is alcohol and needs "an adult signature." Still who in the 21st century waits anymore all day at home for a delivery? That law needs to be changed especially since I was stupid, left the house at the wrong time to go shopping today and FedEx who along with Wine Insiders botched the delivery method attempting to deliver it here unbeknownst to me for the next to last time instead of taking it to FedEx Office per hub's request FOR HIM TO PICK UP. It never ceases to amaze me how many unnecessary errors these inept asses have made and hopefully either one day that signature won't be required or another better company and option will come along. Till then I'm waiting for Godot both for a better option as well as for the dreaded delivery which if I happen to be home and available all day will not come till end of the day most times. Thanx for being so considerate of my time.

Their customer service is HORRIBLE

Their customer service is deteriorating. I have been trying to resolve a damaged, reshipped, and now returned order for 8 days. The latest is the address THEY provide on their website for a pick up location, no longer accepts wine. What?! They are full of excuses but no solutions. I demanded a supervisor to reroute my delivery to another drop off, and the idiot did the order again. This is the 3rd redo of the same order. But FedEX site shows it out for delivery. Baffled!

wine is good but fed ex ground delivery…

wine is good but fed ex ground delivery is horrible. I have been waiting for my wine for over two weeks and nobody at this company can remedy the delivery issues. i will be moving on to a different wine delivery company

We're pleased to hear that you're happy with our wine selections! However, we apologize for the negative experience you had with FedEx delivery. This isn't the typical experience our customer have with FedEx and we'd like to investigate this further.

At Wine Insiders, we aim to process and deliver orders promptly, within 1-3 days. Order processed before 1PM local time, are shipped the same day and typically delivered within 1-2 days with FedEx home delivery. All wine deliveries must be signed for by an adult over the legal drinking age (21+). If you will not be home to sign for your delivery, FedEx will make 3 attempts to deliver your wine to you or you can have your wine directed to one of there 1000s of FedEx Hold locations, complimentary. FedEx will hold your wine for 5 business days, for pick up.
We choose FedEx as our primary carrier due to these cost benefits that they provide. However, if this was not the experience that you have with your shipments, we are more than happy to further investigate your concern.

Definitely No Scam In My Book!

In all of the years and numerous bottles of wine consumed, I have never had a bad experience with WI. There have been several times that I was either unhappy with a bottle or 2 and recently a shipment of 5; the wine was always replaced promptly, at no charge and to my satisfaction. I've been through the 'weeding out' process of trying various kinds/types of wines and have now settled on a few select favorites. This is not to say that I won't 'dip my toe' into the unknown pool again but I have every confidence about my future orders from WI. I do agree that FedEx is a far-from-perfect delivery service like they were once upon a time. Cheers!

Several months ago, we were in the processes of updating our website, and that process caused the error with customers carts. The new implementation that were added to our site repaired this issue and you should not see this problem anymore.

As for our shipping policy, orders of 6+ bottles, shipping is on us. However, due to rising cost on shipping and processing, we introduced a processing fee of $2.95 for all orders, to be able to continue to ship with the same fast service that we provide.

Do not trust this scam company. They are having a contest for the "Ultimate Wine Insider". Check this out in the rules:

These guys are total rip off.

These guys are total rip off.. They won’t deliver the package on promised date and totally spoiled my holiday plans. And when asked about returning the items they are charging more than the total order amount for the return. What a poor service!!

Wine Insiders Delivery Issues

Wine Insiders has a nice selection of wines and some very nice wine special offerings. Their only shipping carrier option, however, is FedEx Home, a subsidiary of FedEx Ground, comprised of lazy independent contractors. I would not recommend this wine merchant if you reside in an apartment building (especially without any means to travel to a FedEx pickup location). Wine Insiders' Customer Service is not helpful in resolving shipment issues with the carrier, but they issue a prompt refund to the customer once an order is returned to their warehouse by FedEx.

We apologize for the negative shipping and Customer Service experience you had. Shipping wine can be a challenge as a signature is required from a recipient that is 21 or older. Therefore, a recipient does need to be home to receive the package. FedEx will make 3 attempts to deliver a package before it is shipped back to our warehouse. They also offer an option to hold the package at a FedEx or Walgreen location for up to 5 business day, at no additional cost, and customers can pick up at their convenience.
We are glad your refund was processed immediately for the returned order but before the order was returned, our customer service rep should have offered to help redirect your package for you. We are sorry if you were not given any options or offered proper assistance. We will make sure to conduct additional training to our rep, in order to prevent other customers from having a similar negative experience.
We will continue to work hard on our delivery service and we hope that the next time you choose to place an order with us, you will have an improved experience. Scam

Scam. Many people received an offer with their AMEX card for cash back on a purchase that excluded use of promo codes. Everything on the website is always “on sale” so no purchase was valid at all. After finding out, I tried to cancel the order (2 hours later) and they refused. Was told there would be a huge restocking fee if I refused delivery. Found out this happens to many others don’t trust this site

How the AMEX offer works is customers get a one-time $25 statement credit by using their AMEX card to make a single purchase of $100 or more online at wineinsiders.com/amex by 9/30/2021. The purchase must be completed by using the link and cannot be combined with any other offers. If the link is used, it will remove any promotion that would exclude the AMEX reward from being honored.
As for canceling an order, we ship our orders the same day they are processed. Depending on the status of the order, a cancellation request can be completed, but if the order is too far along the shipping process, the order may still ship regardless of our efforts to cancel it. In this case, we contact FedEx and request the order to be returned to us. FedEx cannot guarantee that the package can be stopped, therefore, we recommend customer refuse the packages upon delivery.
We are sorry that you were misinformed of our policy and the customer service rep failed to provide a resolution to your concern. A member of our customer service team will be in touch to help make this right.
