CANT BELIEVE IT!! SCAMMERS – Such a Shame!!

VIABUY Closed My Account Without Warning, No Answer, Money Stuck, and It Seems It's Definitely Stolen!

I’ve been a loyal VIABUY customer since 2019, with a card valid until 2026. But a week ago, I discovered that my account was closed on August 10th, without any warning or notification, while I was on vacation! I have a large amount of money stuck in the account, and I can't access it.

To make matters worse, my card hasn't been working for the past month, and the app doesn't even offer an option to transfer the money. I've emailed support three times, but all I get is an automated reply saying they’re busy. Time is running out, and it seems like VIABUY has just taken my money.

This is outrageous and completely unacceptable! I demand immediate action to resolve this issue and return my money back!

Who would've guessed it'd turn out like this? Smooth sailin' for a while, then may rolls in and it's a right circus. They shut down my account and did a proper disappearing act. Promised I could send out my dosh, but weeks later, I haven't seen a single bloody quid! Do yourself and dodge these gits, they ain't worth a toss. I have since hitched my wagon to echelonis elitus renowned for its exceptional model of service. I always get my money with them.

Account deleted by ViaBuy for no reason

I've had this card for since 2018 and it was great back then, up until the last couple of years. Rejected transactions from legitimate sources, transactions carried out without my approval, increases in their cuts, and unresponsive customer service. They decided to reject my card out of nowhere. They did not provide any explanation and were quite casual about deleting my account (for which I paid fees). I used the card quite often and yet they simply decided it's ok for them to compromise all my running transactions. I asked them for an explanation but of course no response. Such a terrible service!

Viabuy cancelled my account, no reason

I am Marleen from Holland.
Six weeks ago I bought a prepaid Viabuy Card.
Yesterday, June 10 I got an e-mail that they cancelled my acound. No reason, just 2 months notice so it stops August 10. Why? I read more reviews on this site of people with the same experience at the exact same day..
I tried to find a customer service number, but they have just an online form. I filled it out, but have little hope of an answer.
I payed € 69 for the card, plus, € 19,99 per year. I want my money back, very bad company.

İt is nonsense to the bottom! somehow my card was never activated although i have written many mails to solve the problem whatever it is with a prepaid card??!!! but did not get any help PLUS they just decided to Terminate my account ? what the f!! You pay me my 90 euros right back or i will report you for Fraud!!!!!

After 1 year they close my account automatically

"They are tricky, making you pay a one-time fee of 89 Euros to open an account. Even if you don't want to pay the fee, you cannot cancel the payment. After one year, they automatically close your account. This is how they make money from customers. There are no benefits and no good feedback, so I will never use this card again. Stay away from them when looking for a debit card. They do not offer a credit card.

In case you will request the transfer of your remaining balance to another account to be made by us, you might be requested to provide us with additional legal documents in order to enable us to comply with your demand.

Totally unreliable bad service

I have used VIABUY for a few years now and had to jump through hoops and send them many personal documents to get an unlimited card last year around this time. Late last night I received an email saying my card has been cancelled with 4 days notice. As I travel quite a bit I am going to lose reservations I made for the summer months. DO NOT USE VIABUY

Out of the sudden blocked

Out of the sudden, I have been informed via email that my card will be blocked with a 3-day notice, and I need to transfer all funds out within two months. This comes after using the card for many years. Anyway, the funds have been transferred, and the card will be safely disposed of.

VIABUY decided to terminate my account

VIABUY decided to terminate my account. I have been a customer for 10(!!!!) years. Today VIABUY decided to terminate my account for no reason. No customer service. No answer. They give me 5(!) days to send my money somewhere else.

This company is really awfull

This company is really awfull. They cancelled my card without explanation...extremely rude. I don't need is as I have Amex and Visa but this such a low blow. I would like to note that card is completely useless as you can't use it outside your country.Please be wise and get it from a reputable company.

No response from Customer Service

Have been using ViaBuy for quiet a while, but I'm getting a little annoyed that they locked my account, because of a refund from eBay (??).
Been using their form to send a support ticket, which does the same as sending a email to their support, no response whatsoever.
Tried to call their Customer Service at the times they claim to be available, but I keep hearing through the whole Monday they are unavailable.

Still nothing at this point, I would have liked to use the refunded money to buy an alternative product, but now I'm even unable to do that.

Overall, the product works good, until your account gets locked for some reason, then you're struggling to contact their support...

Edit: Out of nowhere account termination.. Still no response from their customer service what happened. By email and phone, no way to contact them so far, as they simply are unreachable, and they do not respond to the emails. I've contacted their financial supervisor in Luxembourg, since I haven't still got in contact with them, even if I tried. Are they in financial trouble or something?

Update2: Through Twitter, finally figured out why they are cancelling and terminating accounts. BASEL3 is being introduced, which forces companies like ViaBuy to have liquid activa available, which it seems is a hard "pass" for them. Still no response from ViaBuy, still unreachable through phone. CSSF is contacted, but so far no update yet, will update this review when I know more.

Problem with a mistake made by me…

I had a problem with a mistake made by myself by renting a car in a wrong period. I paid with my viabuy debitcard, and was deducted. I had to make a new booking and payment. I cancelled the original booking at the car rental company, they cancelled quickly & returned the payment quick. With excellent help of the customer service from Viabuy the money was within 2 days back on my Viabuy account. Great & well done Viabuy service people!
