I bought this pump on a bit of a whim after having a really rough day and not being able to have time to pump much at all with my hired Medela symphony due to my boy being really unsettled after his jabs. After researching more post purchase I stated to really worry that all the positive reviews seemed to have been left by people given the freestyle, and those from purchasing customers seemed to be negative. However! The pump is brilliant. I’ve had it a week now and I consistently get the same amount using the freestyle as I do with the symphony, and I can cuddle my baby, wash his bottles, walk the dog, even give my boy a bath while wearing! I do still have the symphony for night pumps, but next time it’s due to renew I imagine I’ll send it back. The freestyle is comfortable and to be honest I forget it’s there. It does fog up as others have said, but you can’t leave the milk in the cups anyway so you soon see what you’ve got once you tip it out. I tend to pump for 15/20 mins as I find I don’t get more after this. But I can see if you’re pumping til a set amount this could be frustrating. I also read a lot about milk spilling from the holes where you pour out. Maybe it’s just because I’m tall so I always squat down to do things anyway, but I’ve never lost a drop. I’ve emptied the dishwasher and washing machine with no trouble. Like I say even bathed my boy without losing any milk. My only two negatives are that I wish the screen locked. I wear it on a lanyard provided in the box, and sometimes it will bounce against my tummy and alter the settings. I wonder if this could just be fixed with a software update from Medela? I would hate to buy a whole new pump to get this feature if it’s ever available! Also you need to have a well fitted bra and no breast pads on, I find that the cups slide on the pads and if the bra isn’t tight the cups feels a bit wobbly. But this really doesn’t affect the milk transfer I’ve found, just makes me feel slightly worried. Overall a brilliant pump and means I can do all the other things a mum needs to do in a day! Also very quick delivery.

I have both rented the symphony hospital grade pump and bought the new swing maxi one afterward. The rental process is smooth and the pump arrived super quickly. It is a powerful pump that does the job, the only downside is that you have to hold them with both hands but you can get the bralette for it or use your nursing bra to help. I definitely recommend renting the symphony pump if you need a powerful machine. I then bought the new swing maxi hands-free pump, and overall I am happy with my purchase but there are a few things I'd change. The pump is quite loud (especially compared to symphony), not sure how it compares to other brands. The measurement indicators are impossible to see and understand as they are transparent within the plastic, so can only measure once I pour into my own container. But these are not deal breakers. Otherwise the cups are super light, it's all easy to clean and use. It does the job for me at 3am pretty well so I am content with my purchase.

I ordered the freestyle electric breast pump and unfortunately had a problem with the battery after first use. I contacted the customer service and was sent a replacement in less than 24h. Tracy at customer service was super friendly and efficient in getting this resolved.

I had very high hopes from my Medela Maxi Swing and was very excited to start using it. The pump was delivered promptly within 24 hours after ordering however the tubing fell apart after 2 days of using the same.

I have been unable to use the pump for 5 days now and am still awaiting a response to my email. The customer service experience isn’t as expected given that mums are busy and find it difficult to keep following up a number of times. Other companies offer way better service and resolve the issue over a phone call. As a first time mum with a 4 week old baby this is the least I would expect.

I am disappointed with the quality given the price I paid. I hope the pump works well after the tubing gets replaced and nothing else breaks or falls apart

I ordered a replacement tubing. I'm a mom to be so I haven't actually used it for pumping. The cable seems to work but I don't know whether the pump itself works properly. The pump was passed on to me so I may or may not need a new pump.

I’ve Had the hands free collection cups just over a week now I’m a little disappointed in the design especially with how expensive they are I really struggle to open them. the flange part has a lip but then the bowl part has hardly anything to be able to get a grip!

Other than that there better than bottles as there not in the way to be able to move around, hold your baby etc and there’s only three parts to clean them

But overall very expensive for what they are I’m already on a tight budget on maternity wish I’d spent the money more wisely

Love the Medela brand. After lots of research, I chose them for our expressing journey. Can't recommend enough. (Fast delivery too when I needed a replacement tube recently).

Evil company taking advantage of vulnerable new mums. I was desperately needing a hospital grade pump to help increase my milk supply, and despite me being at home all the time and waiting desperately for the pump the delivery company somehow didn’t deliver the pump as scheduled on a Friday and I had to wait until Monday to get the pump. I contacted Medela customer service to let them know about what happened and requested that my rental period be amended as I only had the pump for 11 days instead of 14 days and for the same cost of £49. The customer service people were extremely unempathetic and unhelpful, they refused to even consider my case and told if I don’t return the pump on the scheduled date I will be charged for a new period. A
With everything a new mum is going through, the last thing you need is unsupportive companies that want to take advantage of you and your vulnerability.
There are other companies that offer hospital grade pumps -not sure though about how they would treat new mums! But my advise is to do your research and try to avoid evil medela if possible!

Bra- material very thin and after a few wears almost looks worn through. Comfortable but does nothing for support. Seems I’m also inbetween sizes- I have a smaller back size but big cup size.

Great quality product, ease of navigating website excellent with clear product information, great communication from Medela once item was ordered, super quick delivery. Would highly recommend

Of purchase. My only criticism about the Medela freestyle pump is I wish the screen on the pump would lock as it is quite easy to accidentally pause the session or change something by accident but overall very happy. The nursing bra I purchased is very comfortable and was surprised how stretchy and soft the material was

Nothing wrong with product I don't think but it just doesn't work for me. Watched videos and looked for tips. But it just doesn't do it. My electric pump is better still. I wanted this for its quiet application. I'm really disappointed as I'd read good things. But I think it might be a me thing.

Item.looks decent quality, however despite going by the size guide on the website is far too small. I purchased the 3 in 1 pumping and nursing bra. The straps are so short it barely pulls down (yes I extended to their fullest). I am returning.

Clear and easy to use website. There was a slight issue with my order but the customer service team contacted me very quickly and helped come to a satisfactory resolution. The products received are all great (hand pump, electric pump and pumping bra). I'd definitely recommend!

We had a Medela solo breast pump stop working after about 4 weeks of use, it stopped taking charge and wouldn’t turn on. Called Medela customer service who answered quickly, the rep was very nice (Chris) and a new pump was sent out for next day delivery with no quibbles at all. Really impressed.

The parcel was shipped after more than 10 days of purchase!!!!!!

We already had a single Medela pump but when the twins came along it was a no brainer to upgrade! The rechargeable battery is really handy to move around but it should come with a belt clip and sling option or its pointless for mobility when pumping. We brought additional head units as we originally tried to use our older Medela ones (don’t do it) as they are not sealed units and can cause milk to work its way back into the pump. The newer “personal fit Flex connectors” as they are sealed head units and don’t have this problem, however because they are white and grey plastic you can’t see if the milk is still flowing (Medela please change this part to a clear plastic so its possible to see the milk flow). Other then these minor issues/ ideas its a great pumping system.
