The rating is correct. Avoid Safelite at least the Central Avenue, Albany location. Kishaun was without a doubt the worst person to deal with. Multiple wasted trips to this location, just to find out they ordered and received inadequate parts. Corporate has been non respondent. Upon filing a police complaint against the rep and the establishment, I was informed that I was not the first to do so. Avoid Safelite!

ONE STAR — DO NOT TRUST THIS LOCATION WITH YOUR VEHICLE.
Safelite replaced my front windshield on August 18. Just seven days later, on August 25 and 26, rainwater poured into my vehicle. This was not a minor drip—the windshield leaked profusely into the interior immediately after the work Safelite performed.
I took my car to the dealership to rule out other possible causes. The dealership specifically confirmed that the sunroof was not leaking and that the newly installed windshield needed to be resealed.
On September 8, I returned to Safelite expecting a straightforward warranty repair. Despite the timing and the dealership’s diagnosis, Safelite refused to repair the windshield and refused to provide a refund. They took my money, returned my vehicle with a windshield that allowed water inside, and then declined to correct their own work.
Mistakes can happen. What is completely unacceptable is refusing to take responsibility afterward. A warranty is meaningless when the company will not honor it after an installation fails.
I am now forced to dispute the charge and find another company to correct Safelite’s work. Save yourself the aggravation, protect your vehicle, and use a different glass company.

The initial encounter with the technician was great then about 20 minutes after leaving my vehicle I got a phone call from him. He told me he accidentally severed my dash cam wire and they are not responsible for replacement. Now I have to purchase a new camera because that wire cannot be replaced. Then later while picking up the vehicle I noticed both A pillar had dirty fingerprints all over it. I am highly dissatisfied and upset about the service I received at this facility. I would never recommend or use them again.

Safelite installed a windshield in my DAV van, but has refused to recalibrate the camera, leaving the vehicle too unsafe to drive. I am so emotional I just can’t get into details. It has been a month and no solutions. They said they would recalibrate it when I scheduled the appointment. I plan to seek legal counsel if this is not cleared within the next 7 days. This company is the worst company in the business.

They came and replaced the glass on my vehicle that had been on my vehicle since 2015. I have seen rocks not pebbles but rocks come up and hit that old glass and it not even leave a mark. Literally the first time we drive it on the interstate a tiny tiny pebble about the size of a grain of rice hits the windshield and cracks it. I’m thinking to myself “this has to just be poor quality glass” they will definitely replace this since it’s the first time I drove it on the interstate just 2 days after getting it replaced. But no safelite came out today and looked at it (the crack is now almost all the way across the windshield) and said they are not responsible for any damages after the replacement and will not be replacing the windshield. We haven’t even made the first payment toward the glass and I will now have to contact my bank and explain to them how I’m not paying for a cracked windshield that got replaced 2 days ago.
Highly disappointed in safelite and maybe they should use some of the money they spend on advertising to actually get some halfway decent quality glass.
Do not use safelite at all I highly advise against it.
Very very poor quality glass and very bad Costomer service. I think I heard them say “we are not responsible for the glass after the replacement” probably 15-20 times. During the phone call.
Just do yourself a favor and get literally any other glass business to replace your glass.

Well, I’m a little bit upset and pi**edoff today. I normally don’t post because well my life is none of everyone’s business, but I feel that I need to write this as a warning back in July, I had my windshield replaced by Safelite auto glass. Well their technician pushed too hard on the corner and cracked it so I had to take it back in in August in order to have them replace the windshield again. It was determined that it was their technician that messed it up. Now from July until August it had rained a lot down here. I had a clogged roof drain, which I was able to get running a little bit during that time that a gentleman had told me about on the second visit for that windshield. I went back in a couple weeks ago because I had noticed that there was moisture all around the windshield nowhere else in the car, just the windshield and underneath the driver seat where the moisture had been coming down the pillar through my dash and into the floorboard I asked them to look at the seal on the windshield and acknowledged that I was still having problems with the roof drain and not to mess with it as I was having a tech come and look at it. Their technician dumped three bottles of water up there in my sunroof drain to show me that it was clogged, even though I knew it was clogged, which made the problem worse he never looked at the windshield seal. The moisture that was caused earlier in the year started a small smell. I thought I just had something on my shoes and I needed to clean the floor mats more so I put air freshener and vacuumed the floors only to find out that mold had been underneath my seat where it had been constantly draining down because of the first windshield replacement. I have went through their warranty department to set up a inspection at the facility in Mobile, Alabama. I went to the place in Mobile. The gentleman opened the passenger side door, acknowledge that he didn’t see anything closed it and said it was a waste of my time to go through their warranty department, but he would put it up just to satisfy me. I told him that is correct because all of the damage is on the driver side, which he never looked at. I just got off the phone with the safety person at Safelite for this area who advised me that it was my fault that it leaked and that it was not their fault for adding water to a area that he knew was already having problems causing more damage. He advised that three bottles of water that was dumped into my drain that ran down my pillar into the floorboard and has been sitting and over 100° heat index for a week or so is not responsible for the mold that has developed in my car which the insurance agency this morning deemed a total Loss I am having to come up with the money to get another vehicle. If you look it up mold and mildew can be established in a thriving environment of hot and wet in a matter of 24 to 48 hours therefore the fact that it spread only in that area under the seat where that drained out is on them for introducing more water into an area that was already having problems. They have told me that they are not going to even appease me and that everything is my fault and to not contact them again about the issue. Now I have full coverage on the vehicle. The insurance is gonna take care of the payoff. I just wanted a little bit of accountability for their actions. They obviously don’t give a damn about their customers or disabled veterans that come to them. So beware. I was also told that it was the car dealership that I bought the vehicle from it was their fault. I’m currently sitting in the car dealership that I got it from looking to get into another vehicle and talked with them and they showed me where they checked everything. So I’m looking to seek legal representation to go after them. At first, I just wanted someone to acknowledge that they could be at fault and say I’m sorry now after having to max out several credit cards for a down payment. I want my down payment back and if the attorney wants to go for more he can have it. I apologize for the rant, but I feel that everyone needs to be warned about these locations and this company.

They were supposed to give a refund on a chip repair they did once the new windshield was installed by them. They mailed the regions to a business parking lot. They do repairs everyday and this should not happen. I'm currently on the phone with customer service. It's been 2 months and still no refund.
The windshield has held up the past 2 months and think they did a good install other than that.

Over priced and would not fullfil their own warrenty. Stay away
Placed an order said they would be over in a week. The day before the scheduled appointment they called said the glass was defective and I would have to wait for them to order a new one. Well a new appointment was set. Tech showed up did the installation and was watching him from my security cameras. Well he came back to my home handed me my key and that was that gave him a tip. I did notice that he was redoing something on the window and I asked what were you doing? He said just making sure everything was aligned correctly which was not a true statement after I discovered what he was really doing. Well I went to my vehicle the next day opened my door and saw my glovebox was open and a razor blade was sitting on my seat. I tested the window went up and down no problem but what I discovered was a defect in the glass that he was trying to get out but couldn’t. So instead of telling me the truth he lied. Plus why was my glovebox open? A razor blade left on my seat not exactly professional. I will be contacting this company to replace the defective glass or I will dispute the credit card charge.
If you use the safelite facility on 4238 Boadway, Oakland, CA . The Manager Alvaro Aleman is great. I had a chip in my windshield . He fixed it in less than 30 mins. Gave me a great deal on the windshield protection for Rain and I was out of there in 30 mins. I would highly recommend.

They failed to complete the service as promised and were unapologetic about causing me to wait 3 hours for a repair that they could not do.

I would not under any circumstance recommend using safelite. I used them in Feb of 2026 to replace my rear windshield. Safelite came out and replaced my windshield I paid almost $600. On approximately August 8/26/26 my windshild spontaneously burst for no reason. I figured it must have been defective or had a stress fracture since it was only 6 months old. I contacted Safelight that night and they sent someone out the next day under their warranty service. The the guy sai d they wouldn't cover it because how do they know someone didn't just throw a brick through it. Basically they put me in the position to prove their windhild was defective which obviously I couldn't do and they said they never heard of a windshield bursting spontaneously for no reason. I said i find that hard to believe because i can go online and google it and videos will pop up of it happening. Bottom line their warrant is woth anything because they can just say it wasn't their fault and then they won't do anyhting. I fould another place sand this time got it done for $400.

After Safelite just did not show up to my appointment did not call me nor text and after dealing with their customer service and a service technician my prediction is they will soon be out of business. They used to be great and now they have horrible business practices and customer service. Sadly I guess I will never be using them again despite formally being a loyal customer.

Replaced my windshield which cracked 3 weeks later. No new impact but they claimed some tiny, miniscule impact that caused half the windshield to crack and refused warranty service. Filing complaint with State Farm Insurance and State of Arizona. Never use Safelight!!

I waited at my house all day today, from 12-5 PM for windshield repair service. I called multiple times to check on when the technician was coming, and was assured multiple times that they would be here today and send a text or call 30-45 minutes before they arrived. After receiving no texts or calls regarding their ETA, I called again at 4:36 PM. The person on the phone told me that they had come and I was not there, which is impossible. I also got absolutely no texts or calls saying that they were 30-45 minutes away. I waited all day for this, and my car inspection is next week, which I now will not pass because of my lack of windshield repair. I am angry and disappointed with this failure of a company's service today.

I was supposed to have my windshield replaced on Saturday 08/22. When the tech removed the windshield to put the new one on, he saw rust that he said would make it impossible for him to put the new one on. BUT he then said he was told by his manager that he can’t put the old one back on for “safety reasons”.
I was able to get the rust issue fixed the same day and THOUGHT I had gotten the appointment rescheduled for someone to come back out to put the new windshield in. No one showed. Upon calling customer service I was told that it had been "unscheduled". I was told that they would get a message to the manager of the local shop and someone would contact me within 24 hours.so far no one has reached out to me.
I had to get a car cover as it rained multiple times over the weekend, and the rain would have damaged the car further.
Because of all this I was left with my car exposed, at risk of being damaged or stolen. I had to take the day off from work on Monday to go to a different shop to fix the problem that your company left me with and reschedule long-held doctor appointments for my kids because I couldn’t get them there safely.
On top of that, the charge for the windshield that WASN’T put in is still showing as pending on my credit card.
I fail to see how leaving a customer with NO windshield is somehow safer than temporarily putting a damaged one back on. This company made it so I was left without a safe, useable car for 3 days.

Safelite is clearly the industry giant. But, there is no excuse for being given a 4 hour window starting at 7:00am through 11:00am and not getting so much as a phone call saying the technician is running behind. They send text messages making sure we will be ready for the appointment and then don’t show up the next day. There is no excuse for failed customer service. This is not the first time I had an issue with Safelite. You would think with State Farm insurance “feeding them” business, they would step up and take care of that account. Clearly they don’t care about the public. There isn’t even a phone number available to call and ask where the guy is. They suck

Reply from Safelite AutoGlass
This has to be the worst place for customer service. They took an hour and forty five minutes just to move the car to the garage. All the workers move at a slug pace. I was told they would take another hour and forty five minutes to change the glass. Never again!

Trying to get a person to talk to for Safelite glass is impossible the only way to do it is fill out a bunch of useless forms online that doesn't even pertain to my issue Safelite is horrible do not use them go somewhere reputable

I scheduled an appointment online. The quote provided was $281. At checkout it became $335. I used their AI chat to ask why and it only said the price can change because of taxes, fees and service model but I'll get a detailed list of charges AFTER I book the appointment. I selected to pay at the time of the appointment and hit submit. Then I get an email showing that they add fees for recycling the old windshield. No problem if they would just show you that up front. The bigger issue is I needed to install a new rear view mirror and I wanted to ask if they can provide it, if the windshield has a mirror button installed, if so, what compatible mirror should I purchase, etc. But they have no where in their scheduling appointment system to ask those questions. Okay, so I try to call them. But their system quite literally refuses to let you talk to anyone. Their phone system even says a representative will be on the line shortly. The it comes back and says all appointments are now exclusively online and they'll offer a $25 discount to say thank you. I called 3 times and tried to get to a representative and it just takes you back to the same place where it eventually tells you to go online and hangs up on you. I tried to call two local locations with different phone numbers and their phone numbers go to the same phone system that tells you to go online. I tried to call a different number listed as the corporate number and that goes to the same place. I checked online in the My Appointments area and not only is there nowhere to add notes about the appointment, no where to ask questions about rear view mirrors, no where to chat with anyone but then the price online says $295 for some reason. I had no confidence that this appointment would go well so I just canceled it. When I canceled it the online system tried to give me another discount to keep the appointment. What an absolute joke! I would pay $100 more on purpose just to not work with a company that hides their fees until after checkout and then has a service model like that.
