Absolutely awful company
Absolutely awful company! They allowed many transactions go through my account which turned out to be scams and cost me thousands of pounds. They did insufficient checks to ensure was suitable, I even told them who I was paying, so could have checked themselves whether this company was scam or not, even though I checked originally as to whether noted anywhere as to scam or not and they came back clean. Closed my account, then keep emailing me to verify my account
Never trust your fund for this scammers!
This company are absolutzely…clueless
This company are absolutely unbelievable! They let so many transactions go through my account which turned out to be scams and cost me thousands of pounds. After this they blocked my account and now I want to close the account they won't let me. They keep asking for a self picture but my arguments is this would prove nothing as I could take a picture of anyone as they have no idea what I look like! If they had asked for a picture of my driving license or passport this would make much more sense.
If I could give zero stars I would.

Revolut was great until I encountered a problem updating my old link bank card with a new one.
I thought it'd be simple to update an expiry and CVV - I was wrong. I kept ending up in a bank - revolut authorisation spiral. I sought help via chat and that's when my experience went 100% from bad to worse.
I was passed to 3 different agents whose suggestions have now caused me to be totally locked out of my account..unable to access chat support via the app at all or access my money.
Automated responses to my emails and no reply in 3 days. I feel like my money has been stolen by Revolut and there's no way to get help. I have numerous vaults with money in them that I can't access.
Absolute nightmare. Users beware - great app till you encounter a minor issue and then boom - despite sending security pics holding a piece of paper with my name/date/revolut and a code etc what started as a minor problem with a card update has left me totally frozen out of my own account unable to access MY money.
Read Revolut Article 'The Guardian' newspaper
Please, Please read the article published today 10/04/2024 by Miles Brignall writing for The Guardian regarding Revolut. Shocking and Terrifying. You have been Warned. Ship Out or Suck it Up.
Xcover Insurance & Revolut: "Simple, Stress-Free Protection"? Don't Believe Their Lies!
If you're considering Xcover through Revolut, be warned: their marketing is a cruel joke. My experience has been the OPPOSITE of "simple, stress-free protection." Xcover's claims process is a nightmare of denials and insulting "depreciation." Their latest email blatantly lies about the items I owned, proving their dishonesty or incompetence.
Here's the kicker: Xcover's website claims they have "instant payment" and a "friendly support team." What a farce! After weeks of battling, I've received nothing but pennies and patronizing excuses.
Revolut is just as culpable. They chose Xcover, knowing their shady tactics. I sought help, and they deflected all responsibility, leaving me to fight alone. Turns out, the only thing I paid for with my premium was the right to be scammed twice.
Don't think you'll be the exception. This is their system! They bank on people giving up after facing their bureaucratic stonewalling. I refuse to be another silent victim. I will fight Xcover and Revolut tooth and nail, and I'm determined to expose their scam to everyone.
Advice to Travelers:
Avoid Xcover & Revolut like the plague. Their promises are worthless, their business model is built on lies and exploitation.
Don't fall for slick marketing. Research insurers METICULOUSLY, and trust negative reviews – they're likely the truest picture.
If you suffer a loss, be ready for war. Lawyer up if you can. Force them to justify their cruelty in court.
Never let companies like Xcover and Revolut win. Share your story, warn others, and demand better.
Prctical for small day-to-day…
Prctical for small day-to-day transactions, but given my experiences with support when something is wrong I would never trust them as my primary bank. For years now I had issues because I'm resident in Ireland but I'm a UK and Italian citizen, with them asking me to provide tax details for those countries I don't live in or I can't do this or that. I flagged to them multiple times through the years that I'm on a UK IBAN, but every time it ends with "you'll be migrated soon" or "you're not eligible"...
Avoid Revolut
I am left in France without the ability to use my Revolut card as they cancelled my card without any notice or giving me any reasons.
The in app message service is a joke.
Do yourself a favour and if you absolutely have to use this company have a back up card with you since if you end up needing them there is no help.
Only bank with Revolut what you can…
Only bank with Revolut what you can afford to lose. Poor comms and little to no comeback if you happen to be a victim of fraud.
Reading more complaints
Reading more complaints made about revolute recently and realised again how bad they deal with customer complaints and the non return of money taken from revolute accounts. I still have received no refunds from them and probably never will are worse than the scammers.
What annoyed me the most is that the deduction never showed up in my normal revolute account until a fraudulent action/complaint was started with revolute and then the dodgy transaction showed up. This leaves me to believe that revolute knew about the transactions before I did and tried to hide it from plain sight and then refused to reimburse the stolen funds saying it was my fault. Avoid with a passion.
Revolut GDPR NONE EXISTENT
My wife received 50-60 euro from a name she wasent sure about but sometime later we were away & she received a threatening text to abasically say "the money was accidentally sent to you & I am going to contact my solicitor if this money is not returned I have received your name & address FROM REVOLUT customer service" ... we contacted Revolut & they tried to deny it etc etc we have text communications from the out of pocket person & Revolut, .... monies returned NOTE whilst the credited money was NOT FIRST EVER requested ... but Revolute gave out sensitive personal info without prior contact or permission ... if your Bank or any business did that what would they be subject to ??? exactly.
They restrict your money and put a hold…
They restrict your money and put a hold on your account for no reason. I lost access to my life savings for no reason. DO NOT USE REVOLUT TO KEEP YOUR MONEY AS YOU CAN LOSE ACCESS TO IT FOR NO REASON
An extremely immoral and callous company
I don't have words to describe my total horror and extreme stress when trying to deal with these fraudsters.
They should be examined and closed by the Financial Regulator. They are criminal and callous in their operation.
They withheld my own money from me, and accused me and my recipient of being scammers. 20,000 was at stake. For a MEDICAL EMERGENCY.
They held it for "review" by their "systems" which would take 14 working days and might require more information from me and they said they might even block my account. My recipent was even asked for her tax information, which I don't believe is there their remit. They are not the Revenue Commissioners. Despite her having, even, complied with this illegal request, they blocked her account for 17 working days.
Trying to get any fair, humane or decent treatment from their customer service was impossible. I estimate that I spent no less than 30 hours fighting with them. I had to threaten to sue them and report them to Conor Pope, Consumer Rights Correspondent for the Irish Times.
EVEN THE FACT THAT A CHILD'S VERY LIFE WAS AT STAKE DID NOT MOVE THEM TO BEHAVE PROFESSIONALLY. IT WAS HORRIFIC. HIS MOTHER, MY RECIPIENT, WENT INTO TOTAL EMOTIONAL COLLAPSE BECAUSE OF THE APPALLING, CALLOUS AND NEEDLESS STRESS THEY CAUSED.
They were, simply sending, "copy and paste" answers. I could predict each answer, word for word, by the end of it. Many of these "answers" were even plain lies to try to keep me at bay.
They were so callous. Honestly, I couldn't believe the disgusting, nasty and immoral way they conducted themselves.
It was horrific.
Avoid like the plague.
Revolut Business Ireland:
Revolut Business Ireland:
I would have serious concerns about the conduct of Revolut Business. I opened a business account when Revolut first entered Ireland. The app is excellent: fast payments and cheaper transaction rates than other banks. Banking was good until I needed customer service assistance (There isn't any). Your account hangs off your email address; I needed help to access our account. I've tried resetting my password via laptop/phone and QR code, but still no joy; the issue is that Revoluts security confirmation emails are not received to our registered email (Yes, I checked spam/junk file/server etc. I contacted Business Revolut; I did receive a reply with two links. The two links are everything I have already tried. I've repeatedly tried to contact Revolut for further assistance. They refuse to reply and have disappeared, leaving me no access to the account. Revolut Business do not have a phone line or a complaints procedure in place (Email only). Any business owner reading this review should consider that Revolut can disappear on you at any time and without any reason and will bring your business to a standstill. If you use this app, ensure you have a backup plan and do not keep any wealth in your account other than what you are prepared to lose.
I now have to take this to the Financial Ombudsman, which is time-consuming and annoying.
Terrible experience.
As others have stated
As others have stated. DO NOT USE THEM FOR YOUR BANKING. If you have an issue it won't be resolved, they have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. A bank would resolve your issues in a day or a couple of days. I am on chats with them weeks!!! They are incompetent, nothing gets resolved. Do not use them for you banking needs!
Great experience until something goes wrong, incompetent customer service
I was the victim of a scam when paying for services online. I transferred money from my bank account to the fraudsters Revolut accout, which is still active. I reported the fraud to my own bank and also to Revolut. The Revolut team were not interested, and refused to investigate the matter, even though the account I transferred the money to, is an active Revolut account, and this remains unchanged even though it has been highlighted to Revolut that it's being used for fraudulent activity. I had a very lengthy discussion with Revolut customer service (online chat) and found them to be completely incompetent. It's an eye opener for me, that a banking institution are "OKAY" with this. It makes me wonder how many other fraudsters are using Revolut and go unchecked. I'll be closing my Revolut account asap, and moving back to my local bank. On top of this, I'll be submitting a complaint to the Irish financial regulator. The principal of Revolut digital banking is great, until something goes wrong that is, then it's just no fun anymore!
Despicable treatment of customers who have been victims of crime.Having been the victimof an elaborate scam I lost…
Having been the victim of a scam I lost a lot of money through fraudulent Revolut accounts. Having contacted my bank and the gardai I contacted Revolut, who the gardai also contacted. I explained what happened to the agent who immediately blocked my account. I then received several emails, all of which were accompanied by a yellow warning triangle, requesting my tax number. I advised Revolut that given the fact that I had just been the victim of an elaborate scam I was reluctant to divulge any personal details. Revolut would neither confirm or deny these requests came from them and when pressed I was told my account had been blocked as it looked like I was attempting to make fraudelent transfers. I explained that I was the victim not the perpetrator. Agent after agent just repeated the same thing and each one requesting a detailed account of what happened followed by individual screenshots of the whole conversation leading up to the scam. After weeks of frustration and desperation I emailed their complaints dept. I received a reply advising that my complaint had been upheld and as a gesture of goodwill they would transfer €50 in to my account, I just needed to send my bank details. When I queried why they needed my bank account when they could lodge it to my Revolut account I was met with what can only be described as a hostile reply advising that their decision is final. Other than one agent who sympathised with my predicament and the distress this was causing ,promised to look into it no one has cared. Every agent required the same information with the same detail because apparantly agents dont have access to any previous chats. I have been blocked from my account and been made to feel like a criminal instead of a victim. I have been told that I need to request that my money be returned and when I advised that these are persons unknown to me they agreed to ask on my behalf. This was in March / April and to date I have heard nothing and my account is still blocked. Today I received another email, with the same warning , advising that my account had been frozenn as I failed to submit my tax information. I cannot find anywhere on Revolut that it says I have to give my tax information and furthermore when I checked with the Central Bank I am only obliged to submit this if I am requesting a loan or mortgage. I have never sought or been offered a loan by Revolut and as my account is registered in Ireland they are only required to request this if the account is outside your country of residence. It is now apparant that if you are a legitimate user of Revolut then you are required to sign away your life but if its an illegal account run by criminals then they need nothing as they can set up as many accounts as they like under as many names as they like. I have a lot of family members who have now started to question the legitimacy of Revolut and I think the Central Bank here responsible for the regulations need to be made aware of this
