More Than 6 Weeks Waiting – Still No Claim Decision or Proper Communication

I purchased insurance from RentalCover expecting professional customer service and proper claim handling. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing.

I submitted my claim on 8 April 2026 (Claim reference: A7GX-SFR5-INS).

On 14 April 2026, I was asked to provide additional documents, including a detailed final invoice and repair estimate. I uploaded all requested documents on the same day.

Since then, my claim has remained in “Processing” status without any final decision.

Over the following weeks, I sent numerous follow-up emails asking for updates, but most of them were completely ignored. After posting negative reviews, I received responses stating that my case had been escalated to the Complaint Management Team for a “priority review” because the delay exceeded their normal processing time.

Despite these assurances, no meaningful progress has been made.

Today is 27 May 2026, more than six weeks after submitting all requested documents, and I still have:

* no final decision,
* no proper explanation,
* no timeframe,
* and almost no communication from the company.

At this stage, I consider the handling of my claim unacceptable and highly unprofessional.

Due to the excessive delays and lack of communication, today I officially submitted a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).

Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this company to anyone seeking reliable insurance protection or fair claim handling.

Amazing experience

There isn’t anything that this company don’t do well! The process is fast, the return of money is as fast as their service and support! The only thing I would like to have is an APP, apart from that, everything is amazing.

Unfortunately i had to make a claim as id lost my hire car keys and had to pay the hire company for this
I must say I can't believe how simple it was to make the claim with no long winded arduous forms to complete
It was straight forward, simple and quick
The claim was put in and was settled fully within 24 hours
Accidents obviously do sometimes happen but it is very refreshing for an insurance company to be as easy to deal with and so prompt to settle

I had a minor accident which caused cosmetic damage to my rental car.The rental company used the additional hold on my card to satisfy the damages. Rental Cover's protection was vital to restoring the costs assessed for the damage. Thanks!
