Stay away from RAC Online Insurance
I took out RAC car insurance 3 years ago when I renewed I explained I would be changing car to electric - they said that would be no problem - when I changed the car they decided they could not underwrite the new car and if I wanted to cancel the policy I had to go online and chat to someone to do it - as my policy was now an online only policy. Absolutely awful service and when my breakdown cover comes up for renewal ill be moving that too - absolutely disgusted

We can certainly appreciate how frustrating it must be to find out a switch to an electric car couldn't be underwritten after previously being told it would be fine, especially when dealing with online-only support channels.
When a vehicle update is requested, our underwriters assess the adjustment based on a range of factors rather than solely looking at how the car is powered.

Great service
From the initial quite to setting up the service it was hassle free, i left my previous insurer that i had had for several years but the price, service and speed of setting up has been fantastic.

This was a "No Hassle Renewal"
This was a "No Hassle Renewal". There was naturally a price increase due to the age of the car and my age, it went from £367 for a 2019 Ford Fiesta, approximately to £1067. I don't know if this is just the value of the new car a Mazda, worth about £10,000 or my age clocking over to 77. Which, Insurance-wise, puts me into the "Death on Wheels" Category. I cannot be bothered to investigate that: could anyone "enlighten me", just for interests sake. I like to moan about "Agism". If I was "Jack the Lad" at 22 years old what would the premium be then for a Mazda Sky Activ.
I suppose it is weighing up going to sleep at 55MPH at 77 years old and ending up in a blazing wreck, and the young Traveling Salesman going into fog at 95MPH.on the M1 and evaporating in a massive "fire-ball. I don't know how you work out the statistics for that.
I don't understand Insurance risk. I used to have a Private Pilots Provisional Licence, I think that put me up with Wall of Death and Isle of Mann TT Riders category. Generally Amateur Pilots don't kill anyone else they just end up dead plus a £25,000 wreck! Insurance is a mystery to me!

You hit me with a penalty charge
You hit me with a penalty charge , because my bank refused payment on the card you had as my logged details. This card was cancelled when i was scammed and a new card given to me. If you had just sent me a message asking me why the card was declined i would have explained and gave you the new card details. This caused us to be well pissed off and probably will not renew with you next year. Unless you can see sense and re-imburse me 😩
