I decided to renew the policy and got an AI nightmare instead of service.
I decided to renew the policy, and RAC Insurance attempted to claim the money from my nominated credit card. Unfortunately this coincided with its renewal date. The bank sent the replacement card to my home address, but I was abroad at the time. This meant I could not make a payment somewhere so that I gave my PIN and so make the card valid for contactless payment. I tried to pay with a different card, but the AI responder at RAC insurance could not cope with this, and repeatedly threatened to cancel the insurance. After a long struggle I eventually managed to contact a human and pay the premium - with a fine for late payment. But I seriously doubt that I will use RAC Insurance again as it is so utterly unresponsive.

Good policy, Good Price and Good service!
The renewal was close to perfect in many ways and i am happy with what i have renewed. I am a little concerned however that when you are sent a renewal and in that message asked to check all your details that a simple change of estimated mileage potentially discharges that renewal price and a new policy quote is needed with much higher price even though mileage reduced and potentially claim exposure also - it just seems strange!

£25 fee if you cancel within the cooling off…
If you cancel within the cooling off period, you still have to pay an arrangement fee of £25, even though everything's automated so I don't imagine there's any real cost their end... The last time I cancelled car insurance within the cooling off period I did NOT get a £25 fee, I got a full 100% refund.
EDIT - you state "We aim to be as transparent as possible and clearly disclose at the point of sale" - well I think you could be a LOT clearer, as I didn't even see that small print.

We aim to be as transparent as possible and clearly disclose at the point of sale, before a policy is purchased, that an arrangement fee will apply if the policy is subsequently cancelled once it has been arranged and administered. This information is provided before purchase so customers can make an informed decision.
We appreciate that practices can differ between insurers, including how cooling-off period cancellations are handled, and we’re sorry if this was not what you expected.

Was very very shocked that by only informing RAC of change in my office job from secretary to archivist my policy went up significantly!!! It's no wonder people don't come forward in reporting minor personal changes!!
