The mechanic wrongly
Diagnosed a faulty alternator and replaced it. He then diagnosed the new alternator was faulty. It took 2 days for a new mechanic to fit another new alternator, to decide that it too wasn’t working right so realised that must be a different reason why the car had experienced power loss. Vehicle eventually recovered to my local garage who diagnosed the problem was a dead battery. So I paid £500 to fix my car on the same day, to find that I’d paid to fix the wrong problem, and not to have vehicle fixed at all by the RAC. Will be raising a formal complaint and asking for a refund.

Fantastic service from the RAC guy replacing my brakes and pads today. I was given an eta in the morning. He text as he was on his way. Job done in good time and at a good price. Would use RAC again.

Thanks to Dan and partner very professional good knowledge and efficient. EGR replaced. Would like also to include James in the above. The EGR took two weeks at least to be replaced after first diagnosis because a second job was raised this should have been quicker as fault appeared after a ten mile drive after first part to do with adblue was replaced

Technician Carl Melvin, who arrived on time as scheduled. After meeting him in the front yard of the house, he asked for the car keys and started to look for the issues. He opened the hood, then began dismantling part of the lower right-hand side driver of the front dashboard. As a plain driver, I technically had no idea what part needed replacing until I asked him, and he showed me the part that needed replacing (clutch master cylinder). Also, I saw that he had a plastic pump, like replacing a brake fluid. Then, in about an hour, he drove my car out of the front yard for a driving test. Then he came back and did the paperwork, signed the documentation for the agreed payment option on his portable company iPad, and everything was done in about an hour. Now my car is back to life again. Thank you for your service, RAC; you're great!

Great mechanic changed battery as diagnosed, unfortunately this revealed the starter motor is faulty
