Not happy

I requested cancelling my SIPP since 02/02/2026 by email, phone, chat. I keep getting told migration is in place so can’t do much. I do not even get updates. How long does migration take I have been told it’s 20 days process. This is ridiculous

Hi Zakyah,

Thanks for your review.

I can see that you requested to terminate your pension scheme membership with us within 30 days of account creation. This is permissible under the law and therefore also within our own T&Cs. I see that a member of the team was able to share the cancellation form with you, and that you were able to sign and return that form to us. Please note, that the process of terminating scheme membership is never instant, since funds need to be liquidated and settled, tax relief needs to be refunded and reported, and diligence checks need to be carried out.

In your particular instance, the timing was unfortunate, since by the 2nd of February it would already have been too late to finalise the process before we enter a 20-day pause on activities, as we migrate existing pension customers over to a new administrator. Activities have been subject to an ad-hoc and one-off pause between February 6th-20th to ensure a smooth migration process for our pension clients. By February 2nd, it would already have been too late for this process to have been resolved and final by the 6th of February deadline.

We have the relevant forms, and have already shared these with our administrators so that this can be carried out as soon as possible after the pause is lifted on February 20th. Rest assured that we will have this completed for you shortly after February 20th and within the cooling off period. In any case, it is the request to terminate membership which must be received within 30-days; not the termination itself which has a time limit of 30-days once notification has been given. That said, we are of course striving to get your funds to you as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding.

MoneyFarm have failed to transfer my…

MoneyFarm have failed to transfer my pension as requested on the 1st December due to some 'technical failure'. I requested the transfer as Moneyfarm Pension scheme, with Embark, is moving to the MFM Pension scheme, with Quai Investment Services Ltd (QISL). I am now being told that there is nothing they can do until after their internal transfer and with no date in sight.

A pension transfer you would imagine would be a basic task for a pension provider which raises serious questions about their processes and capabilities. I will stay well away if I ever get my money out. Appalling practices.

Hi there,

Thank you for sharing your feedback.

We have been unable to locate a client account matching your name or the details provided in this review. We would very much like to review your specific situation and provide the information you’re after.

We’re sorry that we couldn’t complete your Pension transfer, there are a number of reasons as to why this is the case, such as details mismatch between us and your ceding provider or them not using the Origo method of Pension transfers, or the Pension being a type that is not easily transferable, such as a defined benefit pension.

We of course aim to transfer every Pension that is requested, and will do our best to make this happen. However, sometimes, due to factors beyond our control this is not possible.

On your second point, you are correct in that we are currently undertaking our Pension migration, in that we are switching our back office administrator from Embark to Quai Investment Services Ltd (QISL). This process will have no impact on your Pension transfer request, all transfers submitted under Embark will continue with Embark, and all new transfers will continue with Quai.

Please contact us directly and we can clarify in more detail what the situation is with your Pension transfer request.

The good and not so good

The good: The website is a comprehensive information source for checking up on performance, but perhaps it's become slower recently due to trying to pack even more in. They are easy to deal with and very responsive to comments (so I expect to be grilled after this).
The not-so-good: I've been a customer for almost a decade and feel qualified to comment on the 'time in the market vs timing the market' argument. In my experience, Money Farm has not been a particularly astute manager when it comes to market movements and my net returns (on upper-middling risk profile) have probably been the same as I would have obtained from risk-free cash savings, but accompanied by much anxiety. They want investors to hand over money and forget about it and I'm not like that. In fairness, all investment managers are probably the same in that respect - we ordinary folk are just milch cows for their fee income - it's just an occupational hazard of being a plebeian investor. If you are truly wealthy, you use wealth managers and pay accordingly. If you invest at the Money Fram level, it costs less and you should expect less in return.
In summary - OK if you can relax and put your trust in them, but don't expect miracles.

I have been investing with Moneyfarm for 2 years and I am very happy with the performance. Moneyfarm is easy to get in contact with on any working day for advise. They also keep you well informed on changes to the market and future out look. There app is very easy to use and you can clearly see any changes etc to where your money is invested. I would highly recommend Moneyfarm to anyone wishing to invest.

Even though they have your money they do not produce figures on time and are slow in responses and I will be surprised if they hit advertised figures. Low returns are blames on the markets ? I thought you were the experts.. ?
I would look elsewhere if you want a good service. I have a case number 00630559 I have tried ringing you before ... no answer for over 10 minutes....

Moneyfarm are top notch

Have been with Moneyfarm for several years and although like all platforms your money can fluctuate while ultimately giving very good returns, I have always found them excellent to deal with if indeed you have any questions etc. I particularly like their Liquidity Plus product as it is nice to have a steady % especially in a short term pot you may be drawing from.
