Their Kit is three star. Expensive and with design flaws - they rely on their past name for sales. Their customer service is terrible, worse that you can imagine for an organisation that is failing to be a premier brand. My advice is to look for for other companies. Rohan, RAB, Mountain Equipment, sea to summit, Truedark all provide a better experience and value in quality kit in my view.

I just wanted to get in touch to say how impressed I am with your coats.
I’ve now bought two Jöttnar coats, and I can honestly say they are miles better than rival brands I’ve owned in the past. The quality is exceptional — from the materials to the craftsmanship, everything feels premium and built to last. They’re incredibly warm without being bulky, and the fit and attention to detail really stand out.
You can tell a lot of thought has gone into the design and performance of your products. It’s not often that I take the time to write a review, but on this occasion, I genuinely felt it was well deserved.
Keep up the fantastic work — I’ll certainly be recommending Jöttnar to others.

Took the plunge and bought British. The jacket design is OK, not great, crap zip design / material choice on pit zips creates constant chaffing when walking which in this case has lead to premature failure. Customer service is poor, the gentleman (Morgan) I dealt with was evasive from outset, disingenuous and generally unhelpful. I couldn’t find my original order number and Initially he refused to help, despite giving him date of purchase, delivery address, name, contact details etc. I eventually found my order number and he relented, jacket sent in for assessment. He refused to repair zip failure on the grounds it wasn’t clean, despite it clearly saying on their web page that they will offer to clean it prior. So in summary, warranty is worthless, customer service very poor and I’m extremely disappointed, as others are at the quality and aftercare for what is marketed as a premium item of kit.

Really disappointed with my purchase. Firstly the quality of the item is poor. Within a month of receiving my jacket it started to fall apart. I reached out to customer service and didn’t hear anything for 2 weeks. They eventually responded and said that just part of the jackets wear. Really upsetting considering the cost. I wanted to like this brand but unfortunately will not be purchasing anything again from them. You are better off spending the same money at Arcteryx we’re the product quality is far superior and customer service is top notch. Real shame.
I would like to say that Jottnar and in particular Morgan gave me some superb service.
I had a pair of ski pants from a different manufacturer that had suspender loops built in and got nowhere in trying to source the suspenders for them.
I was told that Jottnar do almost identical suspenders that should be compatible.
I contacted Jottnar and dealt with Morgan who’s not only found a set but said they would be sent to me with no charge.
I have to say their customer service is second to none and I will be recommending them to all of my friends.
Jottnar doesn’t even bother responding to a pre-sales technical email enquiry on clothing sun factor protection. No phone number. Expensive products. Will go elsewhere. I’m not interested in giving business to hi tech companies that can’t be bothered to factor customer service into their business plan.
Ok. A couple of hours after posting above I received an apology from Jottnar informing me that for whatever reason my email had gone into their spam folder. They answered the question to my satisfaction so In all fairness I am amending the number of stars awarded from 1 to 5. Can’t comment on the product yet as haven’t made the purchase but if and when I do I will post another review
Excellent equipment tested in 100 mile trail-mountain running UTMB in the Alps.
Jottnar equipment kept me warm and dry under varying levels of output in a lightweight form, across all different weather from:
- Rain, hail and snow (using Hjalmar ultralight jacket);
- Running output in low temperatures (Asger was my workhorse),
- Layering with short sleeve Merino wool (Mar) and long sleeve Merino wool base layers (Hamr and Arvind)
Further, the team have always been immediately responsive with relevant advice from their vast experience of actually needing the performance kit.
Such a shame, small company with good kit is badly let down by using Evri and their poor delivery! When trying to contact customer service there no phone number and sporadic email responses! Have had much better experiences with using arc’teryx/ mountain equipment ect. wouldn’t order again

The levels of customer service are exceptional as are the quality of the products. I have purchased many items and have found them all to be excellent and high quality from down jackets to T shirts. They are my go to provider of outdoor gear and I hope that their business continues to be successful
Update: I originally upgraded to three stars, as the return and refund were handled relatively efficiently. But they really should change their delivery partner and not persevere with Evri (presumably because they’re the cheapest option), especially as there are more reviews than mine complaining about delivery times. But then I removed a star as I resent being asked to improve my score, which Jottnar asked me to do. They claimed it hit a small business to get negative feedback. Well, I’m sorry, but when you’re competing as an online retailer, you’re rightly held to the same standards as bigger companies. It’s not as if their products are cheap!
Just like a previous reviewer, I have to say delivery is painfully slow - frankly appalling in 2025. I ordered something last Monday and last night (Friday), it was still being sorted at the courier's depot local to Jottnar.
I ordered something from a French retailer on Sunday and had it in my hands on Tuesday. It can be done. Unfortunately, this seems to be the typical British retailer attitude of doing the customer a favour by selling something to them at a premium price, and then providing a really poor service once they have your money.

I hope jottnar remain a niche brand and don't become another fashion fad, that way i can wear my jottnar gear thats way better than yours without you even knowing.
I’m a big fan of Jottnar and love the quality , I think it’s up there with Arcteryx if not better , I have lots of clothing from these and Morgan is superb in customer service , however I have to give it 3 stars based on their delivery and refund timescales. They use Evri which get there in the end but are very slow , I received a order confirmation on the Monday and delivered Friday 5 working days , I know it’s what is promised 2-5 days but when you can get Arcteryx to deliver from Germany and receive it in 2 days it’s slow . They don’t work weekends so if you place an order after 5pm Friday expect no movement until monday and Everi not to collect till Wednesday to deliver in 2 days . Also refunds are slow . I returned a coat Royal mail special delivery it cost me £10.25 to return it fast . Received on Monday 8.38 am it’s now Friday still no refund although paypal says pending but it depends on how it was refunded . So overall great quality merchandise but slow in other areas when people want things fast . Well done to Morgan though and makes up for having no phone number .
Ordered item 8 DAYS AGO , plenty of time for a present...site says 2-5 working days del ..
Day 8, not even left their warehouse !
I stupidly took no notice of the many postings on here to avoid...
A V O I D !!!!
Avoid at all costs. I paid £200 for a waterproof jacket, that the first time it lightly rained it leaked. Awful customer service refused to refund and ignored my emails. I was really taken in by the back story but save your money and go elsewhere
I have been trying to contact for 3 weeks now via email, messenger and instagram.I am still waiting on a reply. Awful customer service and no available telephone number to call them.
My experience with Jottnar has been first rate from start to finish. I have dealt with a guy called Morgan and the issues I had regarding size and a price mix up were resolved within 24 hours. The quality and feel of the jacket meets all expectations
By the way if you think you’re missing the stuff bag look in the left hand side inside pocket. I didn’t!!
In April 2022 (approx) I purchased a jacket from two jackets from Jottner and one has only been used for no more than 12 days of Scottish Mixed winter climbing over 2 winter seasons.
The jacket is showing bad signs of wear just above the cuffs and has actually perforated on the right hand sleeve. I find this disappointing as I have a Paramo jacket which has endured 7 or 8 full winter climbing seasons and shows much less wear at the cuffs.
I reached out to Jottner who responded asking for the original order number and photos of the damage, I sent this information over. I am now experiencing radio silence!! No response, not even the decency to acknowledge my last email. I gave them one week and then mailed again to get an update and once again……nothing!!
Jottner is not cheap and for this reason I expected better product quality from the brand as well as customer service. Not the case.
