I am not happy with IKANO
I am not happy with IKANO. I missed my first payment (by accident!) and as charged a late fee which is fine as I got my payment dates wrong. This month I then made sure payments were made on time and I'm still being charged a late fee? I received another letter about a late fee this morning. This repayment scheme was meant to make my life EASIER not harder. Emails have been sent and calls have been made but can't get through to anyone.

USELESS IMCOMPITENT COMPANY
Absolutely disgusting company and incompetent useless staff , they are incompetent and no one helps you or calls you back, I have a faulty boiler and i purchased it through a loan from IKANO, the original company has gone bust and my boiler is banging and screeching they wont help me and just keep asking for more info, I had emergency gas guy come out and he said it needs urgent parts. Its GAS and they still are useless, the warranty falls with them but they take no responsibility, I just hope my boiler doesn't blow up and no one gets hurt or my home is destroyed as they should be liable for fixing it and providing me with help, safety and customer service...........DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY

One of the worst companies I’ve ever…
One of the worst companies I’ve ever dealt with in 20 years of running my business. Always someone else’s fault, they think nothing to bombard a customer with threats, emails and calls. My experiences with this company are based on their inability to do their jobs in-correctly and then take absolutely no responsibility for their own failures and mistakes. They simply will make out that you’re at fault and try to charge you more in late payments fines. It costs me a lot of money in down time every time I’m forced to call them to sort out their bad business practices. Knowing what I know now, avoid like the plague.

Incompetent & terrible customer…
Incompetent & terrible customer service.
In 2022, after trying to pay off my balance for my DFS sofa, no payment was taken & I then had a default notice put on my credit report. I made a formal complaint & also appealed it with Equifax, there was no response from Ikano bank & the default was removed. 2 YEARS later, Ikano responded & put the notice back on.
Why do we as consumers need to provide evidence but the this incompetent organisation doesn’t?
I have seen other similar reviews too.
My advice is DO NOT have anything to do with them.

Cannot Communicate
Absolutely appalling company to deal with. We took a finance agreement to buy some furniture from DFS. Fortunately there's never been a reason to contact them throughout the course of the agreement which is about 4 years ago at this point.
All I want to do is check my balance but they are telling me they now "can't find" my account. They don't have any difficulty collecting the direct debit each month however. If I stop the DD to get their attention I will no doubt get harassed and hounded for late fees but there doesn't seem to be any other way to communicate with these cowboys.
To obtain a balance you have to complete a form on their website to which you then receive an automated response. The response comes from a no reply mailbox (of course!) and keeps telling me they can't find my account.
Any finance we need in future, if Ikano are mentioned, will avoid like the plague.
Edit - 10 days later, still no contact, rating unchanged

don’t trust them
I took out a loan with them for my Ikea purchase. Then I returned some products, so my loan instalments were reduced. They did not make any arrangements about this and did not return to me for weeks every time I asked for an answer. My problem has not been solved yet. I avoided taking a loss by switching off my direct debit, but I don't know how long it will last.

BEWARE they will ruin your credit rating
Ikano are the WORST company I have ever dealt with. Have charged me late fees for money I didn’t owe them and they just ignore all correspondence. I now have the inconvenience of having to contact the ombudsman to get my money back. AVOID.

Not far off 2 years since my last…
Not far off 2 years since my last review and ikano still haven't resolved my complaint. They ignore emails but send out letters from a Garry boon with ideal threats. Just reply to me and this can all be resolved but they won't.
So 8th may you said someone will be in contact. Still waiting to hear from someone?? Do you think it will be this year?

Good initial service spoilt by poor admin on close out
Good during loan period then when I paid off early continued to take a monthly payment so I cancelled the direct debit and called them to get a refund. 10 days later they refunded the monthly amount. A week later I received a letter stating I’d cancelled the direct debit and would default the payment! Again I called and the man said oh it’s a standard letter. Good initial service spoilt later by shabby administration. I won’t use them again.

Unable to login to my account via the app nor am I able to reset the password .
Abysmal service and sounds like a scam , approved a loan and don’t give people access to use it .
Keeps telling my post code doesn’t match .
Now you have said the credit line is available for 90 days so my best guess is you just refuse access to the credit line and it simply just expires .
Now I re apply and you do a hard credit check and it is the same story yet again .

Horrific
Every part of me wants to be able to give less that 1 star!
I have paid my loan off in full with them 3 years early, they took the payment and confirmed with me my account was clear. Then they have sold my loan and posted a default on my credit file. When I ring them they tell me there’s nothing they can do and are going to refund my payment to me! I’m sure I will be seeing them in court!

Harassing letter . .again
Have recieved twice now Compensation for mis- information by Ikano. Having being sent incorrect information A number of times I was assured it would not happen again. . The Ombudsman was involved and was dealt with . After returning from Holiday this week I have now recieved More bullying letters. Do I need a solicitor this time

I applied for an interest free loan from Ikea. I filled in all the details with Ikano and then Experia. I was refused credit and have not been able to find out why despite many attempts to get Experia to give me a report. They contacted my bank several times to share my information but nothing happened.
I filled in a compaints form to Ikano but it would not submit, again trying several times. I got a good report from ClearScore. Have never been in debt or failed to pay my credit cards on time. I will now have to ring them. Don't expect they will care that much. Shame on you Ikea for using this bank and causing much grief.
