Awful.
Awful.
Signed up like many others due to the deal with Ikea, however the apps do not work. Tried to verify purchase, app says it has gone through but then it doesn't. Try to add to PayPal but doesn't work that way either. Truly awful as a feature. Which is a real shame for Ikea as their old payment system was so easy! Will avoid anything to do with this company in the future; shame Ikea and others don't do the same!
Oh dear! Another dissatisfied customer for Ikano
Oh dear! Another dissatisfied customer for Ikano Bank. I took out the IKEA credit card as I read it that I got 56 days interest free to pay off the ikea furniture I bought. But I started incurring interest after 26 days from purchase. When I raised this with Ikano bank, it took two months to respond. In the meantime I incurred interest upon interest and they have refused to waiver this, despite the fact it has taken two months to get a response to my complaint. Customer service is appalling, I don’t understand how a bank can insist you pay the interest upon interest and advise this needs to b e paid otherwise this will affect my credit rating.
Why can they not be like any other credit lenders?
Why can they not be like any other credit card supplier?? The app is completely useless (was told i was using a new device but it's been on my phone for months!) you get emailled a statement so the customer has to do all the work and the payment date changes every month. To be honest wouldn't trust them with managing a Direct Debit so just pay as I go.
An embarrassment
I have used dozens of banks, and this is by far the worst experience I have had. The app is terrible, the website is useless, and the customer service has been disappointing.
The only reason I opened this account was to use the interest-free instalments for IKEA. Otherwise, it offers no value to me. I plan to close my account as soon as the instalments are completed.
I would give them a 0 star if I could.
I would give them a 0 star if I could. This is absolutely a scam credit card company. Stay away from them unless you want to lose money.

Ikano Bank is as incompetent as Ikea
Ikano Bank is as incompetent as Ikea. The website says the customer is at the heart of their business, however the reality is that emails go to an automated address and no one ever contacts you even if you have asked for a call. I have asked to speak to someone on 5th February and still waiting! If you want to complain you have to do it in writing via post as there is no email or phone number and it can take up to 8 weeks for them to investigate. Customers are treated appallingly. I have reported Ikano to the Ombudsman. If you try to complete the complaint form online the ‘Desired outcome’of your complaint will not transcribe. Another red flag of an organisation that doesn’t want deal with customer complaints.

No help at all
Not clear. They advertise 0% but don't tell you it's only if you convert to installment plans then when you complain they defend it by saying its all in the pages upon pages of terms and conditions.
Would not use again and will cancel card.
Thank you for your patience whilst we’ve been investigating your complaint which we received on 09 March 2026. This is our final response, and we hope you’re satisfied with the decision we’ve reached.
After completing our investigation, we’ve not upheld your complaint.
Reason for our decision
You’ve said that you were not made aware that the credit card was interest-bearing.
Details of the interest on your credit card were included in the pre-contract information documents and in the Terms and Conditions of your agreement. These were available for you to read before you applied.
Before you signed your agreement, you were given the chance to read the information about the finance and ask any questions.
I was on day 13, they took weeks to respond to my complaint and they said this, no offer to move it to installments despite being only 3 days out of the conversion to installments:
"You signed the agreement to say that you understood and accepted it.
You’ve said that you thought you could set up an instalment-free plan once you had received the product.
Qualifying purchases can be converted to an interest-free instalment plan. IKEA purchases made within the last 10 days and between £99 and £2000 are eligible to be converted to instalment plans. You made a purchase of £572 on the 24 February 2026. This purchase was eligible to be converted to an interest-free instalment plan, so we sent you a message on 26 February 2026 to advise this. The message said that you have 10 days from the date of purchase to set up your instalment plan. Once the 10 days have past the purchase is no longer able to be converted.
We’re sorry if the information provided to you made you feel deceived, this was not our intent. All the information of how the credit card works was provided to you in pre-contract agreement for you to read before you completed the application."
As you can see no offer here at all to even attempt any customer service or fairly resolve an issue but happy to charge interest despite false advertisements of it being interest free.
Edit in response to Ikano's response:
They can clearly see that I've already submitted a complaint and yet are telling me to do it again. This shows how robotic their "customer service" is and unhelpful they really are. They asked for my complaint reference by trustpilot too and then asked me to submit a complaint....

Worse company ever
Worse company ever, I have been defaulted for no reason because they don’t know how to communicate over the most littlest sum. Stay away from this company or you’ll repay with more than your life.

KEEP WELL AWAY FROM THEM
Since opening the account for an Ikea credit card it’s been a terrible experience. The latest episode is honestly the worst. So due to a tech glitch they didn’t collect the direct debit. Rather than proactively communicate that to customers they left us in limbo. Customer services were in the dark but put me through to payment support who informed me that they were aware of the problem and that I should make a manual payment, but they may try to collect the direct debit again. Because of my previous experience with them, I opted to wait and find out what they were planning and I’m pleased I did. Got a very standard message to say they would collect it again a few days later, problem resolved and they did take the full amount. My statement was later produced that showed interest payment (I pay in full every month). I phoned them up to query and was spoken to like a child like I didn’t understand how to use a credit card. Only after I raised it as a complaint it was looked at and lo and behold the advisor couldn’t work out why I had been charged interest either. I was told someone from finance would look at it and get back to me within the week. 3 weeks later and I’m still waiting for a response and I have called them every week to find out what is happening. They now know they’ve messed up AGAIN!! And looking to refund the interest due but it’s being worked through…all while my statement is about to be generated for another month with that interest still there. I’m honestly sick and tired of this sham of a company. Phoning them up, they don’t know what they are doing, dealing with the functionality of the tech and its shoddy at best. Want to pay them manually, then you can’t do that without needing to memorise account numbers and reference numbers because the payment through the app is not available. It’s from one bad experience to another with this joke of a company. If you’re in Ikea and you see them advertise the Ikea credit card…IGNORE IT!!! Go and get a 0% card off another bank who know what they are doing. For your sanity don’t engage with this company because you’ll regret it. God only knows why they were given a licence to operate in the UK for because they aren’t operating within the remit of it and at times completely avoiding its responsibility to the customer.
UPDATE 16 MARCH 2026
Ikano responded saying someone from the complaints team would be in touch. The response was in its shortest form, we still have 4 weeks to reply, we’ll let you know if it takes us longer than that. No one is dealing with this situation and to make matters worse, I’m still getting charged interest because of a problem that IKANO created. I just can’t put into words how much you should keep away from this company!!

Inconsistent and confusing credit decisions
I am extremely disappointed with the financing process handled by Ikano Bank.
I initially applied for an IKEA credit card in store at Oxford Street, as no one clearly explained that a loan would be the proper 0% finance option. The credit card carries 23% interest, and instalments are only potentially offered after purchase — which is very misleading when you are expecting structured finance.
Despite having an excellent credit history of over 25 years and a very strong Experian report, my credit card application was rejected.
The following day, I applied from home for the minimum loan and was approved immediately. However, the next morning I received an email stating that my date of birth allegedly did not match their records and that I needed to apply again. I was very surprised, as I always double-check my personal details carefully.
When I reapplied, I was rejected.
How can someone be approved one day and rejected the next for the same information? The process feels inconsistent and unreliable, and it raises serious concerns about the accuracy of the decision-making system.
Very disappointing and frustrating experience.

Going to close account as quickly as…
Going to close account as quickly as possible. Awful customer service.
They had an issue, but knowing this didnt bother telling customers. This involved them not taking the DD and the app sending a demand for payment. After calling my bank it was confirmed they hadnt even requested the DD payment. All of this would have been fine if they had immediately sent an email to customers explaining. I called customer service and they were useless. Couldn't tell me anything. After making the payment demanded I didnt want to be charged twice. They couldn't confirm anything just said they had only known about it for a couple of hours (so definitely long enough to email customers) . I sent in a complaint as I couldn't see any other way to get help. No reply still and they have taken two payments. No apology or confirmation of how this could be resolved. Awful awful company.

Scam ?
It used to be an easy experience to use Ikano but now with this credit card, it is a nightmare. I would strongly advise staying away from this scam. Very disappointing.

What are they hiding?
SImilar experience to others who have reviewed. Have been paying by direct debit for years, but no sign of a statement. I stopped my DD because I wanted to see my transactions/statement and be in control of the payments. They cannot provide a statement or access to my online account. And they keep sending letters to say that I've been charged a late payment fee, despite the fact that I've been paying 4 or 5 times the minimum payment each month. Why is it so difficult to send a statement and why am I not permitted to access my account? I lodged a complaint which apparently takes at least 8 weeks to investigate. Why??? Also, all the links they send in their letters for help functions go to 'service unavailable'. Seems there may be some scam operating here?!! Next step - Ombudsman. Please note: I have provided Ikano with the details of the complaint, so that they know this is a genuine review. I wonder if they will do anything?!!
Update: see their reply - NSS! I already said I’d lodged a complaint. The idea is to find a solution!!!🙄

I had a store card with Newlook which no longer exists the card had a small credit limit on it. I had not used this card for many years but have been paying Ikano monies every month through a direct debit. I requested a statement from Ikano so to find out how much was owing and gave them 7 days to respond and if they did not I would stop the direct debit which I did. Mean while still no statement but letters saying they were charging me a fee of £12 for late payment. Also they have contacted my partner who is not the account holder for payment reminders? They can send me these letters about non payment but not a statement ? What have they to hide

Absolutely shambolic customer service
Absolutely shambolic customer service, on going issue with heating, third party company the bank paid, then had problems with the install, orignally said the would help, this was after 3 months of me emailing with no response, the said the would treat as a priority, that didnt happen, they were then going to support a claim, the 5 months after that decided they were not going to help and i'm on my own, so unprofessional, beyond any customer service ive ever experienced, so poor, awful company, will never use them again.
Clearly just a robotic response as most of the reviews are about Ikano washing there hands of any customer satisfaction!!
Ive spent 14 months trying to resolve and issue and you're response is please contact to help. . I honestly believe your customer sevice should be renamed "we never action feedback" and thank you for your business, really are a joke company...

Trap to get you pay interset
Trap to get you pay interset on your purchases. It is nothing like a bank credit card with clear advantages of e.g. interest free purchases for so many months. There are no clear terms and conditions prior to application presented to customers. It doesn't explain that you can only have only one installment plan at a time and also that a purchase has to be over £300 to have it spread out across 10 months and not just 3. I wish I haven't applied.
I put a complaint in which hasn't been dealt with. Customer services don't know the product very well using the excuse that it is a new product - the whole experience is very strange.
Now, I have to come with the repayment money to pay off the outstanding balance before any interest is due as I didn't benefit from implied interest free intallment plan due to lack of information and lack of full disclosure.
I would never bother with this credit card if I knew how inferior it is compared to other credit card offers out there.
