My solicitor Abena was readily available to answer any of my questions and explained the procedure to me in due time. In her absence, her colleague Olivia would step in and support me with any queries I had. The receptionist Tina is Brilliant with her lovely smile and professional attitude.

Just purchased a house and used Holden, Tina in particular was very polite and welcoming, Alex gave great communication.

Had a great experience with Hannah at Holden Smith who managed my sale and purchase. Hannah kept me updated every step of the way with little to no chasing my part. Hannah always returned my calls / emails in a timely and professional manner. Having used Holden Smith for an another house sale last year also I would recommend and would use again. Thank you Holden Smith and Hannah too!

My contacts Sara and Tilly were very professional, always a delight to talk to and very helpful over the phone. When I emailed long lists of questions to them via email the answers were always very informative and if I didn't understand something they usually offered to have a phone call.

Overall the work was conducted to a high quality. I didn't have any issues with the documents they provided other than one small typo I noticed.

My main criticism and the reason I don't quite give 5 stars is I felt I was not properly updated with the status of my house purchase throughout the process and felt like I needed to chase them on occasion to make sure things were progressing. Holden Smith have an app that is mean to automatically update you when a milestone is achieved (searches sent for, searches retrieved, mortgage received etc.). This app did not seem to update me automatically and I had to chase for an update every now and again. However I think this is a problem always prevalent with any solicitor and I doubt this issue was any worse with Holden Smith than any other solicitors.

Overall I would recommend using Holden Smith for your house purchase.

Sukhmani of Holden Smith handled the sale of my brother in laws home from the beginning of July 2025. He was on end of life and there was a risk of everything being frozen if he passed away prior to sale, but he had strong wishes that his sale would take place during his life. Sadly, after signing the contract, he passed away a couple of weeks short of exchange. The sale was still agreed. The buyers still wished to purchase and were prepared to wait pending probate. The proceedings were dealt with as quickly as possible and the sale completed on the 26th November 2025. It was an emotional time but Sukhmani and team dealt with everything professionally and with patience, care and support. A big thank you from the family

My experience has been excellent throughout the process of selling and buying property. Ryanne and Kirsty acted professionally and communicated promptly. They alleviated much of the stress and made the process much easier

After trying to find a local solicitors firm that was both accessible and willing to witness signatures on a Statutory Declaration form I finally found Holden Smith at Horsforth, Leeds. The receptionist Tina and Leanne the solicitor were both very friendly and helpful and I was in & out in 5 minutes. Excellent service. Thank you.

I needed to make a will
Andy (Norton) went through and explained all i needed to know and made the process easy and straight forward

Joe was quick to respond to my emails and requests for information. I felt he was available for me to talk to which made the process of repaying my help to buy equity loan as easy as it could be. Holden Smith were also very competitively priced compared to other law firms. I would have no hesitation in using them again if I needed to.

I wouldn't recommend for conveyancing. On no occasion did the solicitor, allegedly responsible for the case, ever return any of my calls. There were various people handling the case and it was certainly a case of too many cooks which resulted in a lack of consistency and factually correct communication. Information was requested that when I questioned was actually unnecessary which gave me cause for concern that the team didn't understand the legal elements of selling a probate property. Unbelievably, it was my estate agent who advised of the intended exchange and completion date/s although I'd been asking the Holden Smith team for several weeks, they'd neither thought to ask if the date/s were suitable or even notify me of the proposed date/s! Poor, poor, poor. I would also be concerned in terms of customer confidentiality after receiving an email pertaining to another conveyancing case that they were dealing with; it made me wonder if details of my case had been shared with other parties.
Update 20/11/25: further details emailed to Holden Smith as they'd requested in their response.

Update 10/12/25: interesting to note that despite emailing further details, as Holden Smith had requested, I’ve received no response from them at time of writing. Again, poor!

Thank you SO much to Ryanne for helping us buy our forever home. Ryanne was unbelievable, she’s so knowledgable and professional but most of all, she was there and available for queries and general reassurance when we thought it might all fall through. Kirsty was also amazing and helped ensure we received docs and emails as expected- thank you so much too. Whilst I never plan on moving again, Holden Smith will always be our first call and I will continue to shout from the rooftops how amazing you all are.

I had a professional and courteous experience. The conveyancing was conducted mostly via email making the sale of my property relatively fast and efficient.
