Excellent pricing plans, and you can speak to a real person who listens and has an intelligent problem solving conversation....not a call centre person reading from a script.
Yes, it is difficult to have a phone call answered......I too was frustrated over several weeks being 89th, etc. Then I discovered on the Globird app, by searching through all possible menus and info FAQ sections that I could book a specific time for Globird to call me, so I did so for the following day. Chris G. called at exactly the specified time, listened and quickly understood the issue, with the result that my plan was changed to a rate which had been offered two weeks earlier at a huge saving to me. In almost 60 years as an energy client, I have not had better service, better rates or felt more in control than with Globird Energy. Well done and thankyou.
Not impressed after just 2 days
Not impressed. GloBird have captured my battery and are forcing me to pay premium rates, as I can neither charge nor discharge the battery.
Called the help desk and was 79th in the queue. Opted for a call back and crickets 4 hours later. Should be illegal to behave this way.
Postscript - you can regain control via their App, which is actually not terrible. They don’t tell you this but chatGPT can help. After not calling back when you need them, they then inundate with attention (at times convenient to them, not you). I am going to give them a month and see how it goes now that I understand the offering.

Chronic inability to contact the Contact Centre
Today was my 3rd attempt in under a month to try and speak to somebody to resolve a couple of billing questions. I called at 8.31am (1 minute after they opened) and was told that I was 83rd in the queue. I was offered an option to be called back when I got to the top of the queue - as at the time of typing this (10.07am I have still not been called back).
2 weeks ago I went through a similar process. After holding on for ~15 mins, I was informed that I had progressed from 84th in the queue to 83rd! I then requested a callback, and was called the next day (but I was un available).
About 4 weeks ago, I called and abandoned the call after a couple of hours.
I am beginning to come to the conclusion that perhaps for consumers, the choice is smaller energy retailers (who offer better deals), but at an an additional cost of poor customer service.
I have now been at it for over a month trying unsuccessfully, to get questions answered regarding the enormously complex billing process GloBird uses.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE
Their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced with power accounts! Every time you ring the message says you are no. 65 in the queue which is impossible every single time? When you email customer service they don't answer it either? Extremely frustrating and a waste of anyone's time
What a rort
Just received my monthly bill to find a blurb saying -
"Based on your past usage, our glosave plan may cost you up to $72.80 (GST Inclusive) less per year than your current plan. The glosave plan is available for two weeks from the date of this notice. If this plan has the same name as your current plan, you are on an older version of the plan which has different rates. You
can still save money by switching to a newer version."
So I looked at my bill and I was on the Glosave plan but obviously at the older, higher rates. Looked at new prices and found I could have been saving $15+ per month. Found that Alinta Energy was cheaper so moved my account. What a rort by Globird.
As soon as there is a rise they adjust your rates but if it goes down they keep you at the higher rates and make you contact them to get the cheaper rate. There needs to be some regulation regarding this.
Very bad experience with Globird
Very bad experience with Globird, they consistently fail to do a meter read and then grossly overestimate my usage. When I send them a photo showing that my usage is low, the next bill again includes a grossly overinflated estimate of my usage. Effectively they are always overcharging and relying on customers to do the meter reads that they are responsible for. By using grossly exaggerated estimates of usage, they are effectively asking customers to prepay for their gas. Suggest avoiding at all costs.
My application was rejected
My application was rejected, and although I appreciate they have a right to pick and choose their customers, an explanation would have been appreciated. Instead I was given vague answers about potential reasons. When I pushed for a specific answer, Chris, a senior representative explained that they have no regulatory obligation to give a reason. He could find out a reason, but didn’t have to or want to. Not helpful and reduced my trust in their ethical standards.

Initially when I contacted Globird to switch suppliers I was 45th in the customer service queue. I requested a call back. I was called later by Mark Hardy so i have absoluetly no issues with that. Mark answered all my questions completely and to my satisfaction. He sent me the link required to sign up. The sign up was completed in 10 minutes. A very good experience. I used AI and my software knowledge to analyse the 88 options presented on the energyassistance website to come to my final choice of new supplier.
Just the worst
Just the worst. So many reviews say they have great customer service - if by that they mean that the people on the phone are nice then yeah, true. Sadly the company and policies behind them are woeful. If nothing else, the fact that they have a 'pay now or else!' policy and threaten disconnection after 3 weeks is vicious practice. I have lived long enough to have dealt with many power companies and they are by far the most rabid at this. Not everyone can pay a bill the moment it is issued, especially these days. I am pretty well versed in consumer rights so I can handle their scare tactics but many wouldn't be able to and misery would ensue.
Mainly, though, they screwed us over with our solar install, gave us really poor information and then tried to charge us nearly 2k as a result. When communicating with them about it they pulled out those scare tactics and both threatened us under laws that don't exist and with things that don't apply to consumers. Anyone less well weathered than me would doubtless have crumbled and sold a kidney to pay for their mistake. I got them to halve the bill (mainly coz I was tired of arguing, we really shouldn't have been liable at all) and they set up a payment plan, which didn't even pay off all the money. The moment the payment plan THEY designed ended they started again with demands for payment of the remaining amount, threatening disconnection etc. I stuck it out on the grounds that drip-paying them til the bill was cleared felt like a salve to my anger, but now I'm out.
Globird charge like a wounded bull and with as much concern for their customers' mental health.
Oh, and with a 1c/kwh feed in tarrif, they aren't even competitive.

BEWARE AWFUL SERVICE
AWFUL SERVICE - Beware. Waited all day for technician to attend for a meter read - didn’t show. Sent them a photo of the meter as instructed.Sent me a final account which I paid but I am still being sent “estimated” gas bill EVEN THOUGHT THE SERVICE HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED. Very Shonky

long wait time with their call centre. Their chat are always offline. Finally got a call back from them to their Customer Service, the call disconnect after two minutes wait. Poor aftersales! Hope my connection wont have too much issue as it will probably take very long to reach them!
Globird’s customer service is frustrating and ineffective
Globird’s customer service is shockingly poor. They have no problem issuing bills on time, but when something goes wrong, there is no accountability and no meaningful response.
I had a meter issue and contacted Globird more than 10 times. Instead of fixing the problem, I received generic, copy-paste replies that had nothing to do with my actual request. It was obvious no one was reading the emails properly.
There was no follow-up, no ownership, and no coordination with the metering company. I wasted weeks chasing the same issue with no progress at all.
This has been one of the worst experiences I’ve had with an energy retailer. If you’re looking for a reliable provider that actually responds to customers, look elsewhere.
SCAM SCAM SCAM
Just a bunch of scammers.
This company was recommended as the cheapest in my area by the government’s Energy Made Easy web site.
The plan that site identified as their cheapest was not visible on GloBird’s website. So I emailed their customer service who then sent me a quote that matched the government’s web portal recommendation.
I entered all the data to apply online which was accepted and I received a welcome email and an invitaiton to create an account, which I did.
The the next day I received a SMS and email rejecting my applicaiton for an unspecified reason beyond a link to a generic list of possible issues.
This is NOT good customer service.
This company now have all the data from me that someone would need to commit identify fraud, including my credit card details that I entered for direct debit. I am beyond unhappy about their conduct.
Be warned - steer clear of this mob of unscrupulous corporate chisellers or prepare to be disappointed (or ripped off as shared by the other reviewers).
