A lifeline in my Darkest Hour.

It's been a privilege to receive support from The Criminal injuries helpline during one of the most difficult and vulnerable periods of my life.
I only discovered this service after searching online and I was guided by an incredibly intelligent, compassionate and informative officer.
For the first time,I felt able to share my experience and be truly heard and understood. This guidance about my current situation has helped strengthen my mental resilience and shown me the real value of Criminal Injuries Helpline.
The support I've received has made a big difference in managing my PTSD and has given me renewed hope for the future. It has truly been a positive and impactful experience.
Thank you.

No wonder victims don’t report domestic…

No wonder victims don’t report domestic abuse. The criteria is narrow and
naïve at best. ‘We are looking for broken bones, dislocation, serious physical injury’. Domestic abuse is not prescriptive, it is insanely complex and the mental abuse, control and coercion is far more damaging than anything physical - and I speak from the stance of a victim who suffered strangulation. Don’t bother with this company, it is incredibly distressing to have to go over terrible and life altering past events, to be told basically your experience isn’t bad enough to make a claim. You have to have a formal diagnosis from a psychologist to prove how damaged you are. I have PTSD but I’m not willing to be dragged through all the mud again for a claim. It’s not worth it.

Chaymae made the starting process…

Chaymae made the starting process extremely easy and really made it feel like she cared and I was listened to, with no judgement passed at all. All I had to do was explain what had happened.

Thank you again

They do not respond to emails when…

They do not respond to emails when asking to cancel a claim with them way before the 14 days allowed.

Felt pressured into accepting as I was told I wouldn’t be able to get a claim without their help, this is untrue due to my situation.

I have tried to call multiple times off my own phone and others and their phone number no longer calls.

I have emailed asking for a call back and wrote an email signed and dated to say I want to cancel my claim and I’ve had no confirmation.
