Horrible experience. No way to speak with a actual person. Every email takes days for anyone to respond. They don't send out gift cards in timely manner. Still waiting after ordering on Black Friday... See more

Ordered a £30 PSN gift card took 3 hours to be emailed to me. In today's day and age that is an appalling time frame for a digital give card. Other online providers are much quicker with some codes I've ordered in the past being emailed within minutes of purchase. Why are Sony even using this company ??

Got charged twice for Sephora gift card purchase and never received the code! Horrible, buggy service!

I am writing this review to expose a consistent and documented pattern of behavior by Cashstar that borders on fraudulent activity. After attempting to purchase a digital product, I received the same generic, automated response that thousands of other users have reported: an immediate cancellation of the order due to failed "security checks," citing no specific or valid reasoning.
While the company claims to "protect" customers, the reality is a predatory loop that results in direct financial prejudice. In many international jurisdictions, like mine, banking and digital service taxes are applied the moment a transaction is processed. When Cashstar unilaterally cancels a legitimate transaction without cause, these taxes are not refunded by the local banks.
I have attempted to resolve this through every available channel, multiple emails, support forms, and attempted telephone contact, all to no avail. Being told that "the system reviews multiple factors" while refusing to provide manual verification for a legitimate payment is a clear evasion of commercial responsibility.
Legal precedent suggests that Terms of Service cannot override basic consumer protection laws. A company cannot accept funds, trigger non-refundable financial obligations in the user's home country, and then hide behind a "black box" algorithm to deny the service purchased.
This issue is not isolated. Based on the extensive history of complaints on platforms like Reddit, DevForum and here on Trustpilot, it is evident that this has been a recurring pattern for over more than two years. I am currently in the process of organizing and seeking legal counsel to initiate a Class Action Lawsuit against Cashstar for these systemic practices.
I demand the immediate manual verification of my transaction and the delivery of the product I paid for in good faith. A refund is an inadequate remedy that does not cover the financial damage already caused. If you value your company's remaining reputation, I suggest you fulfill the order and address this "validation" flaw that is currently defrauding a vast community of global users.

Left a review and was asked to respond to email , did so and still not heard a word back. Disgusting customer service and basically stole £50 from me as gift card still not working????!!

Received an email saying I sent someone a gift card. I didn't. On the phone with my bank about this fraudulent transaction. I didn't click on any links in the email to be safe. Gift card went to Lucretia Verdis.
CashStar wanted my personal information to investigate. They can look into the purchaser's name. Email ends in gmail. Figure it out.

Unable to refund two 10 dollar robux gift cards and little to no way to contact support, resent twice but the same thing happens , never knew until i read the reviews that this company is the absolute most unprofessional one to ever be officially partnered with roblox to be selling gift cards this way

Prizeout uses them to distribute casino winnings. I have an issue with an E-Card they sent me. CashStar has a support form on their site that simply doesn't work. It just keeps saying to try again. There is no way to contact them.

Ordered two gift cards for Roblox. Both flagged for 'suspicious activity' even though I have ordered things from then before. The refunds are not instant and from what I see in the replies do not happen at all. Horrible company.

Stole my PlayStation gift card and shared my real name and location!
I bought a gift card but I didn’t know you couldn’t buy one for someone in a different country. I tried to get support to transfer the card to me instead then. Email support kept telling me the issue was fixed but I could never access the gift card. THEN they sent an email with my personal info (name, location, etc) to my friend! I never wanted that shared!!
I did a chat with cashstar/playstation, and they told me they needed the number, which I was never given since I didn’t redeem the gift card in the first place. They took 10 minutes for every reply and were rude, insinuating I didn’t understand. They never resolved my issue, and said I needed to talk to cashstar- which is who I was talking to!
Absolute SCAM of a company that will steal your money, give you the runaround, and will leak your personal info! I will NEVER buy a PlayStation gift card again!!

I purchased an ecard for Sephora. It took my money and never processed the card. Their customer service number just claims to expedite the issue and nothing gets resolved. FRAUD

Bought a gift card on black Friday deal, I have never been able to access it nor the bonus gift card. It is actual theft, you can't contact them, I have tried a few different ways since the end of Nov last year and had no response at all. How they are allowed to operate I don't know. Blatant thieves.

Spent $15.00 on a roblox eGift Card only to take my money and not give me what I paid for? You really need to fix the validation process if it keeps "cancelling" orders yet not returning even a cent of what was paid. I just wanted some robux.

Had to deal with Cashstar to get refunds on unused Starbucks cards.
The process could not have been more painful. One challenge is that it appears the customer service center for Canada is based in Mexico or Central America so communicating in English can be challenging.
That's not the employee's fault, these are just people trying to do their job, that's Cashstar's fault.
They were doing their best to speak English, and their English is way better than my Spanish, but it's still rough which makes basic communication and resolution much more difficult.
After giving me the runaround for a couple hours, gift cards can't be refunded, they are final sale, blah, blah, blah, you have to talk to Starbucks (Starbucks says you have to to talk to Cashstar - the old run around, works every time), they ultimately cancelled and refunded several gift cards, but only after I threatened to escalate.
They then refused to refund two gift cards that were part of the same group and said they had zero value. Originally they said it was because they were too old, but the reasons just kept changing.
Will I be buying Starbucks gift cards again? Ummm....no, and I'm going to take a couple years off Starbucks too - so 75 bucks in refund for gift cards that were never used will cost Starbucks Net Present Value - at least 10K.
Not a good trade, but hey, what do I know about business.

Purchased 2 x $25 egift cards, only one worked.....contacted tech support, they said too bad, the gift cards had been emailed.
Will not buy from them again.... do not use.

Earlier today I purchased a gift card, but I never received the gift card code. I also have not received any refund. I checked my email (including spam) and my account, and there is nothing there.
What makes this more frustrating is that I contacted customer support and have not received any response at all. The payment went through successfully, but there has been no follow-up or resolution.
I would appreciate CashStar reviewing this transaction and either sending the gift card code or issuing a full refund as soon as possible.

I bought a 100 gbp gift card for PlayStation. It worked all well at the end and the credit was added properly, but I found it weird that I was not asked for my email - I've just received a link to the gift card (if I closed or refreshed my browser it would just disapear).

EDIT (1/18/25): I have raised my rating to 3 stars from 1 after a full refund by CashStar of the original purchase price. Unfortunately I cannot give a more positive rating at this time for a couple reasons. It took more effort to rectify this than a simple initial request. Secondly the offering of the bonus value in the form of a half dozen "bonus cards" explicitly labeled as "Not Gift Certificates" so that their use could be severely restricted to a tiny subsection of theater concessions and not general use with Cinemark as was expected. I will in future ensure the missing terms of purchase and use are present (they weren't) first in general with gift cards and hope to find use for CashStar's services which in past have been good. This was a satisfactory solution on CashStar's part and I thank them for it.
__________________________________________________________
My "bonus cards" electronically sent along with my purchased Cinemark gift cards turned out to not only have a 2 month expiry period, but could ONLY BE USED FOR CONCESSIONS. Those were the only reasons I bought gift cards. I have purchased these in the past since I use them for movie tickets, and no such restrictions existed. No mention was made at point of sale. These also cannot be used for merchandise or alcohol.
Their "customer service line" never picks up, even after hours on hold, and I learned why. They did send back a prompt email via their online form request. A cheery note with tons of bizarre, irrelevant emoticons explained "Gift card sales are considered final because once they’re issued, there’s no way to confirm if they’ve been used." This is clearly untrue since both the user and the theater can check the balance at any time.

I have a giftcard from Boots.com sold by this company. I have had approximately 15 contacts with Boots via email, telephone and social media. They have refused outright to provide any assitance with serval members of staff admitting that BOOTS HAVE PROVIDED THEM WITH NO TRAINING TO ADDRESS SUCH ISSUES. they have been completely clueless, passing me from one agent to another, none with an answer or solution. they have directed me to contact CASHSTAR directly, which i have attempted to do via their website. I have clearly outlined the problem, and indicated that i just want to use the giftcard that I am legally entitled to. they have flatly ignored my correspondence. I am left out of pocket WITH NO ACCESS TO ANY SUPPORT OR ACCOUNTABILITY FROM EITHER BOOTS.COM OR CASHSTAR. AVOID BOTH.
