Completing an HMRC PAYE Self Assessment Form
I had never completed a HMRC PAYE Self Assessment Form before. The Accountant sat beside me, but I did all the completion. I would certainly have made mistakes on my own and would have spent ages trying to talk to HMRC, to resolve things. I have learnt all the data I need to collect ready for next year and will only need assistance with Tax changes in the future.

We were super happy with Aston Shaw…
We were super happy with Aston Shaw when we first started using the company many years ago with a fantastic dedicated accountant for our contact who was easily contactable for advise and understood our specific business and the way we operate.
Great, then came change, our accountant left and we were moved to a central team which felt very impersonal and no direct contact.
Since raising this we were then appointed to Matthew Butcher who has been great. Meetings face to face and happy to explain everything fully.
We would not have stayed with Aston Shaw had it not have been for Matthew now looking after us directly.

Ashton Shaw used to be OK. Now it's a mess.
- Unclear costs which change without notice.
- No direct contact resulting in a very impersonal service.
- Incorrect payment reference number supplied, resulting in paying tax to a different company.
- Customer care lacking.

My company was awarded a research and development grant for innovation, a member of Aston shaws associates was the representative that made the claim on my behalf and yet several months later I am still being diverted and not called back when they say they will. I believe green jellyfish and kirbyandhaslam are associates of theirs that they divert you to for further time wasting.
Be aware of sharks benefitting from your hard work.

I've been using Aston Shaw since July 2016. I've had a few different client managers in that time but never once has the service or filing ever been wrong or late. AVOID AVOID AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I am not one to complain but need to let people know they should avoid this company doing their accounts at all costs.
My returns were late, even though I gave all info early so I would know early on how much I owed, so I was fined by HMRC, A.S said they would sort and refund me the fee...They never did.
My Corp tax unique payment number was wrong so I ended paying another companies tax and am battling with debt recovery company as I have paid it and HMRC have mentioned they constantly do it and have been a firm that is flagged for it.
I have CIS issus from years ago that they said they would look in to, they never did.
The list is endless, oh and they threaten legal action straight away even though you have only just received the invoice.
Just beyond...
Avoid avoid avoid.
