DO NOT TRUST THESE SCAMMERS

DO NOT TRUST THESE SCAMMERS! Upon taking a quiz, I had to submit my answers a few times (not a problem related to me - they either have a glitch in their system or they make sure something goes wrong) and they said I've had too many failed attempts and told me to re-register (basically purchase the course again?!) they don't give a refund either. I'm sure they do this on purpose. Avoid this company, TOTAL SCAMMERS!

The American Safety Council's Life and…

The American Safety Council's Life and Health Insurance Certification Program is an absolute disaster. From start to finish, my experience has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing.

Firstly, the content is severely outdated. The examples provided still use dates from 2015, making the material not only inaccurate but also irrelevant. This is unacceptable for a certification program that is supposed to prepare you for a current and competitive industry.

The user interface is extremely old and clunky. Navigating through the program feels like stepping back into the early 2000s. It is neither user-friendly nor efficient, which adds unnecessary stress to an already challenging certification process.

One of the biggest flaws is the testing system. You are allowed to take only one practice test, which you must pass to be eligible for the official exam at a testing center. This is incredibly limiting. The inability to take multiple practice exams hinders your preparation and increases the likelihood of failure.

My nightmare didn't end there. After completing the life insurance portion and passing the exam, I moved on to the health insurance section. Upon completion, the exam did not appear in the Pearson Vue queue for scheduling. I have emailed the American Safety Council three times and received no response. There is no accessible phone number for direct contact, leaving me in the dark with no way to resolve the issue.

When I finally reached a customer service representative, their lack of knowledge and helpfulness was astounding. They suggested I create multiple accounts with Pearson, which is not only impractical but also indicative of their complete misunderstanding of the problem.

In conclusion, I will never purchase anything from this company ever again. The American Safety Council's Life and Health Insurance Certification Program is a waste of time, money, and effort. Save yourself the trouble and look for a more reliable and up-to-date certification program elsewhere.

This testing site is not what it appears to be.

This testing site is ridiculous. It is setup for you to fail. From the very start you are required to answer 20 security questions. Yes TWENTY!! You are also required to provide voice recognition also. During the testing you are asked one of the security questions. If you get it wrong you are blocked out of further testing and the only way to restart is to pay again!!!
While watching the videos for the test, it repeats itself 2 or 3 times. After each section you are given a quiz question. It is a 45 second timed question. You have 3 chances to answer correctly if not….,you’re blocked out. Only to be asked to pay again to restart.
Calling customer service for help is useless. After being on hold for a least 1/2 hour, you speak to someone about getting a refund for this bogus course and they hang up!!
Don’t waste your time or money on this site. It definitely should be reported to the BBB.
It is a very sketchy operation. I would leave 0 stars if I could. Please beware.

I wish I can give 0.

I wish I can give 0.
Why are you charging for giving the certificate that I already paid for? This is a deceptive and immoral practice. Please arrange to email me the safe driver course certificate that I already completed.

Would give it a zero if possible

Would give it a zero if possible. Completed a mature driver's course (and passed) almost 1 month ago and never got the certificate. I have called at least 3 times and keep getting the same answer, "We don't know what happened to the first one" Claim they sent another one out (2 weeks ago), still haven't gotten that one. Considering filing a claim for scamming seniors!

Don't waste your time! Horrible

Don't waste your time. Horrible! System is old. Customer service rep was unprofessional and just doesn't care about the company. To speak to someone it takes almost an hour. I've used the company twice prior in 2018 and 2021 and this is the first time I've had issues. Also the first time I've called customer service. Whole company needs to be shut down. Online requests for help is possibly a two day turn around. I don't even know why they bother. If you're not passionate about what you're doing then don't do it. Medioce at best.

Wish I had read these reviews prior to paying. Don't waste your money using this company. They said I didn't answer the test correctly and I have to pay again.
Rude customer service.
I'm going to to use IDriveSafely.com instead.

Program has glitches

Program has glitches, asking many times security questions, voice recognition has lots too be desired, doesn't recognize voice recordings. Locked me out there times. Wanted me to restart course. With I didn't. Contacted fusion, they informed me that I had failed the course, that the restart was a curtsey. I asked for a refund, they refused. Took course at my local library, much cheaper, and no problems, got my certificate. Don't be bother with fusion. As far as I'm concerned, they are scammers. Don't wast your money. I would have given them a lower reating but it doesn't go any lower. I would have given them a negative star.

Don’t know what to believe

I thought the course was ok until the next day, when i did some research to verify what they taugtet. They said in nys, a driver has to stop for 3 seconds at a stop sign. That is not true. What a driver must do, according to nysdmv is come to a full and complete stop. I don’t appreciate the course instructor lying about nys law. And if he wasn’t lying because this is what he wishes the law to be, which is possible, get rid of m.l. (Instructor initials) and hire someone who will not mislead people paying money for this course. How dare you? Another thing this instructor said was something about the cannabis law and driving. This person said that if you’re a user of cannabis, the drug will stay in your system for 3 or 4 days. If an officer tests you, you could go to jail for driving under the influence do to that test. My research shows that a user of cannabis, which is legal in nys, should wait 6 hours before driving. Otherwise, nys might as well not have legalized it, if a driver has to wait 3 days to drive. Apparently, this may actually be true (just did more research). So then i ask nys: why legalize if it’s not legal to drive 3 days later? Also, at the end of the course, but not before the six hours are up that you paid for, is the request to complete an evaluation of the instructor. I don’t take surveys, so i asked the instructor on the side if this was voluntary, and got the answer of yes. Because i didn’t fill that out, i was the third person out of there. My comment is, i don’t have the desire or the time to spend making your company better by rating you. You could have at least included it as part of the 6 hours. Everyone else sat there filling out the paper, as if they worked for the company, because that’s what they were doing-working for the company; for free, no less. To the instructor’s credit, that person did mention that another thing said would not be found in the driver book. Meaning that it was this person’s opinion that it was the safest thing to do, but it wasnt the law. You shoukd have done that about your stop sign statement. I don’t appreciate being lied to.

The American Safety Council is a Sham

The American Safety Council is a sham, in my opinion. Their course material is amateurishly written, the web site is painfully cumbersome, and they are impossible to communicate with. My account was locked and I have been trying to reach them for two business days. They do not repsond to their chat system. They don't answer their customer support phone number. And finally, their internal messaging system reports an internet error 404 (directoery not found) and the message will not send. I suggest using AARP or a more reputable service.
