Rented a Mitsubishi Eclipse for our 10-day Ring Road adventure from Zero Car and couldn’t have been more pleased. Pickup was incredibly easy with the provided passcode, the car was clean and performed great and staff was very friendly and helpful when I had to pop back in to get some assistance with the Apple Play. The cord I had wasn’t working so they very nicely sent me out with one of theirs. As I had zero liability coverage I didn’t have to worry at all about any possible damages (thankfully there were none!) and drop-off was the easiest ever - in and out in less than 5 minutes! Highly recommend Zero Car if you’re renting a car while visiting Iceland as they provide peace of mind along with a great vehicle!

It was a super easy pick up and drop off, and not having to worry about the insurance was a definite bonus.

Easy pickup, quick drop off. During our trip we got a flat tire 200km from the capital on a Sunday, but we called for assistance and they helped us to find an open mechanic, booked us a time and within 1hour we were back on track.

Excellent experience. Quick pickup/drop-off, clean car, no hassle. Probably the easiest car rental experience I've had. Car seemed just as new as booking directly with Blue.
We were going to book another car agency I get a discount at, but after reading reddit stories, decided to go with full insurance from a local company in Iceland. Didn't end up needing the insurance, but glad we had it for peace of mind.

the car is pretty old model and condition is not good, the window of the right seat has something wrong and can't roll up smoothly.

This was by far the easiest car rental experience ever! No lines, no inspections, no stress; I wish zerocar was available worldwide so I never had to use another company again! We also loved our rental car itself; we had an AWD Byd suv that got fantastic mileage, was very comfortable, and we felt really safe in all road/weather conditions.

The handling, communication and overall service was outstanding. We had the option to check in online beforehand, received a qr code and were ready to pick up the car once we arrived in Iceland. This was great as we observed long queues in the arrival hall for other car rental companies.

The only small minus point we give for the state of the booster seats we rented with the car. They were really old, torn and really not appealing. I think that upgrade would not cost the company an arm and a leg.

Nevertheless we would hire again on a future trip.

We had a great experience using Zero car rental. The price included all required insurances with zero excess giving us a piece of mind driving under the extreme Icelandic weather. The picking up location in Reykjavik was easy to find and instruction was easy to follow in order to get the car. The car model was the exact type as I chose, the car was clean, new and equipped with winter tires. During a drive to Vik, we encountered a storm that might have caused minor damage to the front bumper area, we reported this incident to Zero via the Blue rental website, the online assistant was helpful to ensure we were safe and the car didn’t need extra assessment so that we could continue our trip with no delays. The return process was easy, we dropped off the car at Blur rental in the airport, the assistant checked the car noting the damage I reported previously but with zero excess we didn’t have to pay anything extra before we left. They also offered a shuttle bus to take you from the office to the airport. I will choose Zero car rental again when I come to Iceland. Thank you!

The car rental process was simple and easy to understand, with helpful reminders during check-in about things to keep in mind for the trip.
This time, I picked up the car at the Reykjavik city office. Following the instructions in the email, I found the key box. Although it took a bit of time to locate the car in the parking lot, the fully contactless process went smoothly overall.
The car was in good condition and drove without any issues.
When returning the car at KEF Airport, I handed the key to a staff member, and after they confirmed the details, the return process was complete.
I would consider renting through Zero again in the future.

I loved how easy the check-in and check-out process was! I really liked the car and the whole experience. When I return to Iceland, I’ll definitely rent with Zero Car again!

Process was all very simple, well explained, slick and efficient. And the car, a Dacia Duster, was excellent - perfect for Iceland's terrain and climate.

The rental process was fast. And the vehicle is in excellent condition. We have comprehensive insurance coverage.

I opted for zero excess. When I collected the car, I can tell it was just washed and cleaned. Normally you can’t tell about a rental car’s service till something happens. Well we were stuck while driving through a stream and had to contact the Emergency service. They looked for someone to help us and tow the car out. The car drove without any issues after that incident. When we returned the car on 4Oct25, they just asked if the petrol tank was filled up and any issues with the car. It was really fast. Will recommend them to anyone who want to rent a car in Iceland.
