Scam harassment company

Scam harassment company, they'll find your details somewhere (not even up to date details as people at a place I used to live years ago get harassing phone calls asking for me) then go on and on about how you owe money in voicemails even when you've had no accounts that they could possibly have bought the debt for. Very shady company and I would report them as soon as you get a call.

Harassing calls

Harassing calls. Silent line, then eventually a robot "message" for somebody with my first name and only the initial of my last name. Seems like a total phishing scam where they phone loads of numbers to see if they get lucky with somebody who has debt and a name that fits. I have no debts that I've defaulted on, and no genuine lenders have asked for money. Total scammers.

Update - now received a text saying they now "manage" my PayPal account, and need me to call them to let them "know how we can help". Apparently they will send me a link separately in a few days for me to fill in a form. Absolutely stinks of fraud.

Another update - received a letter in the post saying that the debt is for a very small amount, the kind you would be inclined to pay just to get rid of them. If they contact me again, will be reporting to trading standards, the FCA, and the police for harassment.

Amazing Customer Service

Amazing Customer Service. Spoken to Katie on several occasions and she always goes above and beyond to provide the best service. My journey to go debt free is much easier thanks to her, as I have a plan in place and I know I can call Wescot if anything changes and they try their best to help.

I am disgusted that I have to give this…

I am disgusted that I have to give this bunch of criminals one star to even post a review!
They need to be closed down by the FCA immediately!
Got home to post from them asking for me to call them, no real letter or explanation and I know I have no unknown or unpaid debts.
On the phone they admit it is nothing to do with a debt but they want to confirm a previous address. I tell them it's none of their business and they have no right to that information, I want no further contact and they are to wipe anything regards me from their records. They agree they have to do this. Cannot help but think someone more vulnerable would have been caught out. These are the lowest of the low, the FCA needs to refuse to regulate them any longer and force them to stop trading. Money saving expert and other sites are full of info on their dodgy behaviour and fishing.

IGNORE AS DEBT WAS WAS NOT A DEBT

Hopeless and they do not care about 1 Star reviews but please just ignore them. They rely on o you paying as they buy debt. Their only recourse is to go to court and they will not as they do not have the resources to do this

Not legitimate

Received a letter in a similar name to mine, but not my name, to my address, claiming I was in debt to a water company. Not true. I called Wescot - yes, they were very nice, but as soon as I said I didn't think this letter was for me, I was told that the details had already been updated to the correct person and I had nothing to worry about. The person couldn't get off the phone quick enough in order to, I presume, attend to someone more vulnerable than me. Please think twice before thinking this is legitimate.

Wescot don't listern, they just want you to pay

Had several letters from Wescot chasing me for payment of a fraudulent account set up in my name. Westcot keep insisting PayPal will not uphold my dispute and PayPal although sympathetic have escalated the problem. Still waiting a call back from them. Wedtcot keep asking me to "just " pay but I told them I won't as Its a fraudulent account. I think they hope to wear you down so Don't pay. I'm now going to ignore them and close my PayPal account. Worries me that it's so easy to set up a fraudulent account with no proof of identity and you end up being chased continously for the debt.

Harassing calls

Harassing calls, very much seems like a phishing scam. The name mentioned is somebody we do not know, and considering we’ve had the number for 8 years? 100% sure it’s a scam if you’re unsure if you actually have debt check your credit history and contact any banks/companies you deal with to check! Just block them, we haven’t been sent any letters so clearly have no addresses and are just trying their luck with random names and numbers.

How can scammers like this still get away with harassing people with phone calls yet can’t get names right? Lol

I previously wrote a review in December…

I previously wrote a review in December 21 regarding Wescot and their alleged debt I had with PayPal, here’s the final update, I reported them to the financial ombudsman, who by the way aren’t particularly useful either, and finally 5 months after the original debt letter they have written saying that my complaint is upheld and they have found that the allegation from PayPal is fraudulent and for my inconvenience they’ll pay me £50! DO NOT pay these people without a fight, they’re simply ridiculous

Sent me a letter saying I owed them for…

Sent me a letter saying I owed them for a Paypal account, oddly Paypal themselves said I owed nothing and I closed my account, Wescot first contacted me in August 2021, now in Dec 2021 they still cannot prove the alleged debt, keep sending letters apologizing that they cannot get the responses from their 'clients' and sorry it's taking so long, STOP sending letters to people without proof that they owe them, I can pretty much take care of myself but what about those who are more vulnerable? I'd be ashamed to work for these people

Wescot said they were offering me a 50%…

Wescot said they were offering me a 50% discount and that if I make full payment of the discount my account will be closed and I will no longer receive letters , unfortunately this wasn’t the case. They gave me the impression that the reduction will have no negative impact on me. However, few weeks later , I received a letter saying my account has been partially settled and closed and that this will remain in my credit file for 6years, this was totally different from what I was told. This is pure deceptive and very annoying. Avoid them if possible. Scam

DO NOT TRUST WESCOT THEY ARE A SCAM!

DO NOT TRUST WESCOT THEY ARE A SCAM!
I started to receive phone-calls and letters to my home address regarding 'debt I owed to Santander'. Barely in mind that I do not have any debt and I just have to pay back some of my overdraft. Wescot had been very pushy and unprofessional on the phone, and sent me out various letters and red letters. I then received another letter saying that Santander are offering 'discounts' and the letter had a spelling mistake on it, which I knew did not add up and further showed their level of unprofessionalism. I finally got through to Santander management, and she informed me that she receives phone-calls like this all the time and indeed WESCOT IS A SCAM. DO NOT PAY YOUR MONEY TO THESE PEOPLE. Santander will ALWAYS get in contact with you first and NO BANK WILL PASS PEOPLES DEBT OVER WITHOUT INFORMING YOU FIRST. These are little crooks trying to get money off people before Christmas. Absolutely disgusting. Always do your digging and question everything before handing your money over to companies like this.0

Today I finally managed to bring myself to call wescot which I had been avoiding. I really wish I had done it sooner. I spoke to a lovely gentleman called josh and he was honestly so so so helpful I can’t even begin. I’m very grateful I was able to call and hang up the phone feeling like a massive weight had been lifted. So thank you again

Callum is great!

I've just spoken to a gentleman called Callum from customer services, I have to say he's a great asset to this business. I really struggled making the phone call, my anxiety has very tight limitations. I was half expecting to be traumatised by the end. I can honestly say the call went nothing like I expected. I was listened to and all my health issues were taken seriously and handled with such empathy.
If anyone else out there is really struggling to pick up your phone to make the call, I hope this will put you at ease that they aren't monsters trying to make you feel worse.

BEING HARASSED WHEN I HAVE NO DEBT

Am in agreement with all the 1 star reviews.
I HAVE NO DEBT to be collected and yet I am harassed with texts and phonecalls (I don’t pick up, so I have voicemails from
a robot asking me to call them back).
The texts keep referring to a letter I’ve been sent but THERE HAS BEEN NO LETTER.!
I then started to worry that someone has cloned or hacked an account and taken a loan out in my name but I have checked my credit records and there is nothing saying I’ve defaulted on any payments on anything.

I feel reassured by the other reviews on here that I am not alone with this experience and will continue to ignore them.
I’d advise anyone wishing to use their service for debt collection to avoid them like the plague.

Polite, Professional People

I have to say,my own experience has been very positive. Got myself into bother defaultung on a credit card debt. Was fretting constantly. As soon as Westcott got involved, the stress fell away, I was honest and upfront with them, blaming nobody but myself. They were professional and polite from the off and continue to be so. If I ran a business and was owed, I'd choose Westcott to assist me. Just my 2 cents worth...
