Initially I received some unsolicited calls and emails from this company, despite the fact that I had no contract or any arrangement in place with them and had never heard of them before. The most recent email was very threatening in nature and has forced me to report this company to the FCA. The threats made included the suggestion that they "may" contact "Moorcroft Debt Recovery Ltd" and described them as their "doorstep reconnection partner" - this is the modern-day equivalent of threatening to "send the boys round". I have now emailed them informing them of my lack of appreciation for their approach and the threats they have made against me. I also pointed out that they may also be guilty of attempted extortion and blackmail, both of which I take very seriously and also accused them of demanding money with menaces and making threats with menaces. Having researched this company further, I see that they have a very poor reputation and seem to be in the habit of threatening members of the public for alleged debt they owe to the PRA Group, without any proof of said "debt", no documentation showing evidence of said "debt" and absolutely nothing legal nor lawful to back up their claims. Companies like this use fear, intimidation and threatening language to extort money from innocent members of the public but I will not hesitate in pursuing all legal and lawful remedies available to me. The most threatening email was received from one "Carissa Rae" who seems to think she is above the law and is entitled to make threats and demands without providing the legal and lawful documentation and evidence to back up her claims. Avoid these people at all costs and do what I did, report them to the appropriate authorities as soon as they make contact with you. Unless you have a legally and lawfully binding arrangement with them, then no contract equals no claim. After sending them an email yesterday calling them out on their harassment, fraud and attempted extortion, they called me today at 8:30 in the morning! On a Saturday! This tells you all you need to know about the kind of people they are, unprofessional, infantile bullies.

Logged into my email at approximately 10pm on 01/04/26. Saw email from PRA offering 65% discount for payment to be paid by 05/05/26. Accepted offer. Next day acquired the funds to make the payment, logged in during lunchtime to make the payment to find that the offer had been removed and case transferred by Carissa Rae. Called immediately to question this, was told I had to make contact by today 02/04/26. Explained that it is 02/04/26 and that the offer which I opened yesterday stated that it was active until 05/05/26. Was told my case was transferred out today at 11:52am. There was NO SPECIFIC time to contact them by just that contact needs to be made by 02/04/26. Have raised a formal complaint with PRA GROUP UK. Appalling sent an email offer with a different deadline whilst Carissa Rae is sending email with differing information and NOT honouring the original offer!

Had a lovely phone call with Alexander, with very informative and understanding of my student situation and my ‘non awareness’ of the situation, and very quick to help and get it resolved quickly. Lovely guy, made me feel very at ease at what seemed a scary situation at first.

With the current cost of living crisis I was worried about reducing my payments on a payment plan I had . I chatted on line with Abbie , who assured that everything was so simple .She was very sweet making sure I could afford the payment plan .She checked all my priority bills were being paid first. She made it very easy , talking me through it . Abbie was very professional , quick in responding and a pleasure to deal with .

I would give no stars at all. My long-standing partner of 28 years died on the 6th of December very unexpectedly. He had a debt with this company via step change. I notified them of his death on the 8th of January with a certified death certificate. Noting that I am not liable for his debts. They have been hounding me ever since I have had five phone calls today alone I have emailed them I have phoned them but still they persisted. Upon my phoning a couple of days ago the ridiculous girl on the line couldn’t even spell my name. Whether they’re hounding me to try and get money out of me, I really don’t know but it’s bad enough that my partner died in such terrible circumstances so unexpectedly And now I have this from them to be honest I have emailed them spoken to them several times on the phone and still they carry on if it doesn’t stop I will be making a formal complaint to the FCA. It is harassment. They are completely unscrupulous and are acting outside of the law and should be held to account truly disgusting. I am unwell myself and going blind. I have told them this over and over again. They need to cease and desist otherwise further action will be taken.

Robin whom I dealt with was such a pleasure to deal with, she was very understanding, a great listener, and made the process straight forward stress free and not shameful. Obviously not wanting to publish reasons why we are dealing with but the care in which robin offered my mum (the client) and myself surprised me but in a good way. In my opinion ROBIN is an assest to your company and if there is reward scheme or a customer service agent of the month (I was a Team Leader in call centres) then I highly recommend this for ROBIN.

This company is rude and very odd. This comment relates to the Canadian location (I assume since they called and I'm located in Canada-actually British Columbia Canada. Called me in the past and since I have never had the need to conduct business with them, I ignored the call but blocked it as well. It appears they might have quite a few numbers for their outgoing calls. Today (Feb. 12/26) I got a call to my number which is a Manitoba one and I chose not to answer it. I called back and heard their outgoing greeting as "PRA Group." Easy enough to quickly Google it and note what it is their company is known for since yeah, some people do have skills other than simple people whose job entails using a phone to call people. So I decided to call the number to verify this wasn't a scam or spam call. I advised the rude woman that they've called before, I have NEVER had any dealings with them so they should stop calling this number. The woman asked "how do you know we don't want to talk to you, you don't even know who we are." Uh yes, I actually do, it's a debt recovery company or business, a person is first greeted with "PRA" so of course anyone with a brain would know how to lookup such a name. Apparently once they get fixated on someone's number-most likely the former user-owner of a number, they assume that they can keep calling to proceed with whatever it is they are thinking is their right. So, this can now be left online to advise others as I have: tell them (if you don't actually have dealings with them) "remove the number, stop calling." If they don't, report it to the CRTC as they are to respect the Do Not Call List and requests by citizens. Those employed at such places aren't very intelligent from what I gathered during my short conversation as I also stated that they're calling my number which is from 1 province but I'm in another. The woman went on to advise "you do know that we call numbers elsewhere in Canada?" Of course BUT since I requested they don't call me for whatever their reason might be, it's advised they stop doing so immediately. I told the woman I don't have any dealings with debt or collections so perhaps they are antagonizing the wrong person. Note PRA if you ever call again since this phone number is definitely on the DNC List, I'll pursue legal action since you seem to be located in Canada, most likely in either Ontario or Quebec and you are as annoying as those involved in scams or pushing spam onto unsuspecting citizens. UPDATE YOUR DATABASE, ASAP since my name is now noted somewhere after today's call! Brian Taylor

If you are so unlucky and end up with credit, and they are creditors, try to pay it off as soon as you can and be done with it. They are completely hopeless at customer service, they don't give you the information you are entitled to

These nasty little scammers have now written to me saying they will not be chasing this ‘debt’. Why not? Because it never existed and they have zero proof that it did.
Maybe they should have checked BEFORE sending threatening letters.
Never take a debt collector’s word that you owe them money. Always ask for the evidence.

Pra group took over my credit card debit from tescos. I have anxiety so I was always worried when I had to talk to people. Especially after hearing so many bad things about debt collectors. But every time I spoke to someone from Pra group, they were amazing. They were so kind and just wanted to help. They made sure I had enough money to survive and enjoy life a little bit before they asked for payment amounts, making sure I didn't get into more debt. I never got anxious when I had to speak to them.
I have recently paid off my debt with Pra group. I was speaking to a lovely lady called Sue. She was so kinda and made me laugh. My favourite person of the day and out of all the people I have spoken too over the years.
In the nicest way possible though, I hope I don't have to speak to you again 🤣 But if I ever do, I know you will help. Thank you!!!

I spoke to Laura this morning with regard to a review of my account. She was very pleasant and understanding throughout our conversation and I felt comfortable with all the details of my repayment plan. I was not pressured into agreeing to an increase in my monthly payment or to make any additional payments. My overall impression of dealing with PRA Group has been very positive.
