I am going through a very rough patch and speaking with staff, has helped me immensely. They were far more empathetic to my situation than I was expecting and, because of this I felt less anxious as we spoke. They realise that when life becomes increasingly difficult, allowing people the opportunity to rectify their problems, gives them the opportunity to become self sufficient again. Just be truthful genuine and respectful and you will see what I mean.

I am extremely disappointed with the conduct of this company during what has already been a very difficult time for my family.
After informing them of my mother’s passing, I have experienced ongoing issues and a complete lack of empathy. Most recently, despite a new payment arrangement being agreed—at a higher amount than originally agreed —they failed to acknowledge my email and instead chose to contact a widower directly, applying unnecessary pressure shortly after he had lost his wife to increase his payments by hundreds of pounds per month.
This approach is not only insensitive but entirely unacceptable. They bypassed the person actively managing the account and caused avoidable stress to someone already dealing with bereavement.
We have complied and ensured a payment is set up that is more than the original payment yet this does not appear good enough!
Throughout my dealings with them, I have felt that we have been treated with a complete lack of compassion or basic decency. No understanding —just relentless and impersonal pressure.
This company’s behaviour is deeply concerning and, in my view, warrants investigation. No one should be treated this way, especially during such vulnerable circumstances.

Your colleague, ONTLA, was very patient, helpful, knowledgeable. It was a great pleasure to be helped by ONTLA. 5 STAR CUSTOMER SERVICE
Why do they make it so difficult to pay ?
I completed a full private remedy process with this company and served a Notice of Dishonour & Perfected Claim. They did not provide any verified claim or lawful rebuttal. This message stands as public notice that the matter is recorded in dishonour and remains unrebutted. This company continues to ignore my request.
Been brilliant with me, cleared a credit card debt nice and easy, always made sure I had the money to pay. Customer service was brilliant.
I called Westcot Credit Services last week and was passed to the team that deals with struggling. I am a pensioner and was caught off guard by this lady who bombarded me with finance questions and I found it terribly harassing. I am very very upset and my husband who looks after me has a diagnosis of acute anxiety. How could they treat me like this? Shameful.
I also have received a letter claiming that I owe over a hundred pounds to Paypal.
I didn't phone Wescot to avoid them having my number on file, and then use it to pester me by yet another means of communication!
Instead, I emailed contactusATwescot.co.uk asking to provide evidence as to my liability for the debt in question. Instead they emailed me back demanding I provide further personal details (full name, address and date of birth, previous address and postcode, other email addresses... the lot!). I used this email to report them to reportfraud.police.uk for identity theft attempt.
I hope this course of action helps others.
I also emailed phishingATpaypal.com to report what is happening but I haven't heard back, which is disappointing.
Spoke to Maya today, amazing customer service, answered my questions and resolved what needed to be done. Need more telephone advisors like Maya!
I am being harassed these days by these scammers, claiming I owe Yorkshire Water, they had no previous address of mine and tried to get me to tell them my current address. They also said I shouldn't contact YW but I know I actually closed my account when I moved out over a year ago, as I cannot login anymore to check this so-called "debt". Where can I complain against them, please? Deffo trying to scam me.
My experience is based on multiple dealings with Wescot. Every 6 months they insist on updating your file with an affordability assessment, which is great if you need help but, it always seems to end up at the end with Wescot asking you to pay more money "to clear the debt faster." Today their agent requested that I use 90% of my disposable income in to paying off my debt with them. How is that feasible in any way? the minute an unexpected bill comes along, perhaps a dentist appointment, a household item breaking, loss of earnings due to being ill, you're not going to start missing payments and you start to accrue even more debt. Wescot are a complete disgrace and their work practice needs investigating in my opinion.
I answered a phone call as my wife has a debt.
I said i want togive you an apdate on my wife.
I said she is seriously ill in hospital, she had life saving surgery last night and we dont know if she will survive, the person i spoke to, replied, well when will be able to phone us, i raised my voice and said open your ears stop reading off a script, and listen to me,i repeated the above, and again when can we expect her to call,i got annoyed and shouted at her,we dont know if she will survive, she sail i will put you on hold, came back with when will she be paying, how many more bloody times she i seriously ill,, she replied i will transfer you to someone that can help, i said again listen to me now,i dont have time,i need to be at my wifes bedside, she said, can you give me her hospital details what illness she has, what operation has she had,and her consultant details, i said are you really been serious, send the debt back to your client,i dont want to talk you anymore, your now wasting what precious time i may have left with her.
I will not answer any more calls from this number.
THEY DONT HAVE INTEREST IN ANYONES WELFARE,THEY ONLY BOTHERED ABOUT SETTLING A DEBT,NO COMPASION,AS I WRITE THIS IM SAT BY MY WIFES BEDSIDE,HOPING AND PRAYING SHE WILL SURVIVE THE NEXT FEW HOURS,AND MAYBE A LOT LONGER.
WESTCOT YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES AND YOU UNLISTENING STAFF
Very pleasant company with kind staff. Paying debts is never fun, but they make it easy for you, with helpful staff. Big thank you to Stuart in particular who set up a payment plan for me despite there being a faulty line.
They are legit they contacted me about a Paypal debt which I forgot to pay once paid they stopped calling
But they should be reported for harassment they called me 8 times in one day
Bit of a scummy company really
Sam was very helpful and talk me through everything on the phone and got my Account sorted, great customer service 10/10
I've had a random direct debit applied to my bank account this evening without my consent, to my knowledge I have no debts. I'll be calling my bank in the morning about this to figure out who this company is trying to set up direct debits without my consent.
I checked my bank account and found a direct debit had been set up on my account and I have not received any mail from them. I have cancelled the direct debit and sent an email to explain that I have an IVA in place. This has seriously affected my mental health.
Karen was so helpful and explained everything to me and so friendly great customer service if I could give 100/100 I would
This is now harassment. I am worried, and it's torturing me at night. They keep sending messages to call them but do not accept replies via messages, they say they've sent letters, which isn't true. I am worried for my safety, and this is so stressful. I have emailed them directly several times with no response. They do not have a freephone number, so I would pay full price. I did speak to someone, but she just procrastinated, knowing I was paying.
