Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Absolutely horrific!
Firstly, the vet was not empathetic, she refused to use our insurance and made us fork out nearly £500 after bad mouthing our insurance! Vets now works with Waggel so much throughout the year, and I have reported the bad mouthing to our insurance.
Not only this, but the vets took down my partner’s details instead of taking down my details as I am the account holder. We explained this a couple of times and they still refused and said it had to be my partners details as he called it in.
They also chose the wrong practice, so our vets never got the notes and had no idea what happened when we went for the follow up appointment.
Moreover, when we called to advise our vets did not have the notes and to find out what was going on, the agent was more concerned about saying she’s just trying to help instead of actually helping. I’ve worked in customer service so I kept saying I wasn’t frustrated with her, and I knew it wasn’t her fault that this has all gone wrong, but she just wouldn’t listen and also gave us the wrong advice. When we called our insurance they were so confused with why she was asking us for things that we do not need to provide. Our insurance called Vets Now and resolved the issue. No thanks to you guys!
I hope I never need to take my pets to your vets again! If possible, and there is not risk to my pets, I would rather drive far away than have to use your services again!

Very quick response to the emergency call
The vet took her time and made it clear on what she was doing and why, she suggested the immediate treatment required and what could be a next course of action to respect the costs involved

Compassionate, explained everything fully, dealt with the issue confidently. Reassured after the procedure.

Friendly staff. Vet explained what she was doing and was gentle with a very old dog (16). She put my mind at rest because I thought my dog had broken her leg. Thank you

We rang really late for an emergency appt with Vets now. Both the vet that treated our dog and the vet on reception were so friendly.
Only 4 instead of 5, because over the phone they spoke so quietly we couldn’t understand what they were saying.

I cannot say enough about Vets Now, Tunbridge Wells. Our dog was very ill and sadly had to be put to sleep. We were quickly seen and the Vetinary staff acted throughout with care, compassion and very honest advice. We were given all the time we needed to consider our options and nothing was too much trouble. Absolutely lovely team of people who made a very difficult time fo us more bearable. My warm thanks to the team on duty that night.

Dreadful service - aggressive and abrupt. didnt really listen to what i was saying. said my dog had eaten something but she was not sick or diarrhoea. she had neurological signs suggestive of a mini stroke/vestibular/or a some sort of seizure. given charcoal and told "the dog is intoxicated".She is actually T total ! what a very strange experience. She never was sick and recovered after a week the neurological signs slowly got better. The cost was astronimical and was trying to persuade me to leave my dog even though blood tests were all normal. £1700 for this choice! As it is i spent £650 for a total waste of time and would not risk this service again.

I had to take my poor dog to Vets Now on Saturday afternoon because my normal vets were about to close. The service I received from the staff was absolutely brilliant, we arrived and were shown to the waiting room and left for about 45 mins before we were seen by the Vet, not too bad for a Saturday night at all. My boy needed an x-ray to determine what the issue was, which I immediately consented to as I needed to know.
I was flabbergasted to see the charges. £330 just to be seen. £270 for each x-ray, they had to take 2. I had also been charged £35 to admit him to the hospital just so he could have an x-ray and £25 so I could claim on my insurance. It's outrageous the fees that are bundled on for an out of hours service, and it wasn't even that late (we arrived at 5.30pm).
The final insult to this already stressful journey is that I have today been told there is a 2 weeks delay in getting insurance forms completed. So I am now going to be out of pocket by almost £1000 for weeks while first the vets and then the insurance company do their thing. On top of that I am going to have to find the money for the operation he is going to need. Absolutely awful and all those poor animals that will suffer because of these exorbitant fees and the VERY slow turnaround time to get a one page form filled in.

Sadly we had to take our beloved Whippet there on a Sunday to be PTS (he had not been right for a while but went downhill sharply on the Saturday). They couldn't have been more caring or kinder and were very reasonable regarding pricing. They also suggested what they thought might have been wrong with him, unlike his normal vets in Uckfield (who I will not use in the future) who despite numerous tests still had no clue what the issue was and wouldn't even venture an educated theory.

Brought our cat Batman in out of hours, blocked bladder emergency. I cannot thank the vets now team enough for the care they gave Batman. Thank you very much and highly recommended. We are very lucky to have this wonderful service on our doorstep when our pets need care out of hours.
