Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

An experience with Vets Now is something that only arises when you have an emergency with your beloved pet. It happens because there is no other service available in the Swansea area, that I could find, for a pet in need on a Sunday.
The initial consultation fee is extremely high at £302.50, but this has to be agreed upon before even seeing their vet - which to my mind was absolutely exorbitant.
I would have gladly paid that to the PDSA as a charity, but they unfortunately only treat 'pets on benefits'.
The actual place, staff and the treatment was excellent so, thankyou.
Sadly though the cost of this service means that some poor animals who are in discomfort, pain or even worse may have to wait up to 24hours to see their own vet due to the prohibitive cost of £302.50 before even being seen by Vets Now.

As soon as we arrived my cat Bertie was triaged by a nurse as they were expecting him following my call to Vets Now. She was concerned about his breathing so she rushed him through to see a vet. We were kept updated with what was happening and allowed to
spend time with him when he wasn't doing so well. He was constantly monitored and given brilliant care - they saved his life - I couldn't be more grateful

The staff gave us good advice and discussed various options of treatment, which allowed us to make the right choice for our pet.

prices are way too high, thought vets wanted to help, could definitely lower prices to make it more affordable. Still none the wiser to know what is wrong with my pet as could t afford the prices they were asking for a scan. Just had some medicine to help her with any discomfort she was feeling

I brought my dog Bella to Vets Now when she was very unwell. I told them beforehand that I couldn’t afford the costs, but they still admitted her and gave her treatment, including pain relief, fluids, and hospital care. While it has been very difficult for me personally, I am grateful that they acted quickly and made sure she wasn’t left in pain. Thank you to the staff for caring for her during such a hard time.

I had to take my cat here as an emergency. Despite being understaffed and the clinic being busy, staff were courteous and helpful. The cost of out of hours care is crazy, but thankfully I have insurance. It was 2.5 hours before my cat had treatment which in the scheme of things isn't long. But when you have a sick pet, every hour is more like a day.

My little Dog was very poorly. The vet admitted her immediately and undertook emergency treatment .
The practice was so attentive and understanding even I became distressed whilst giving my Dog the best treatment . I am so thankful and grateful for successfully treating Daisy .

I phoned up and was told which vets to go too and that I needed to let them know I was 10mins away. I did this and still I ended up waiting well over an hour, no explanation, the even had a deliveroo delivery of fish and chips and disappeared out the back to eat while leaving myself and other animals waiting £302 this would have cost if I'd stayed, fortunately I managed to get my dig to my local vet first thing in the morning.
