All of my kids friends want to get rides from us in "the big bike" now. It's a thrill to see the kids so excited when they hop on for the first time! And the parents are always impressed at how far/fast the bike can take 3 big kids and how much fun they've had during the trip.

Amazing way to be on the road with a child, especially for a family like ours, who live in a city and do not want to own a car. Now we use a Maxi-Cosi adaptor for our baby, and we cannot wait for him to start sitting in the little bench. We are super happy with the Urban Arrow. Highly recommended for all families!

I have a 2012 UA that I got second-hand from a bar owner. He used it to transport crates and goods between his bars. I repurposed it for little passengers and have been running with it since.
Mechanically speaking, the frame is indestructible, other components are very high quality and still running strong 14 years later.
Personally, it is a bliss to travel with kids. It has become their vehicle of choice (beats a ride in a car!) and they can have snack as we roll. I use it every other day in Barcelona.

Excellent cargo e-bike. The kids love it, and we as a family love it. It's very stable and convenient, yet super flexible in turns.
Worth every penny.

We were reslly looking forward to having this bike. We have a newborn and a toddler, which means getting somewhere is slow (because it can get really windy out here) or in a car. Since we have our Urban Arrow my husband and I fight over who gets to pick our children up from daycare. Its wonderful to have a few more moments 'outdoor', compared to being in the car. My toddler loves watching every animal and bicyclist. We are very happy with our bike!

Our little six-month-old loves looking around while we’re out cycling, taking in the trees and watching us. Heading out on the bike really feels like a fun outing. Plus, it’s good for the environment. Because the cargo bike is so spacious, we often use it for grocery shopping; the stroller chassis fits inside too, so we frequently cycle into the town center to enjoy a coffee or do some shopping. I hadn't realized I’d end up using it so much.

Update – 2 July 2026:
Urban Arrow contacted me after this review and informed me that the process is continuing in the background and that the dealer would contact me. I have now received an email from the dealer as well. For this reason, I am updating my rating to 3 stars for now.

I appreciate that there is finally communication and follow-up. However, at this stage, there is still no clear commitment regarding a concrete solution, such as a temporary replacement bike or a full replacement of the bike. My main concern is still the safety issue and the fact that several repair attempts have not resolved the problem.

If my issue is fully and properly resolved, I will not hesitate to update my review again and reflect my satisfaction.

Original review:
I purchased an Urban Arrow Family Active Plus in March 2025. Towards the end of the first year, the bike started to suddenly lose power while riding. The display shuts down with a “bye bye” message, and the motor assistance cuts off completely.

This is not just a technical inconvenience. It is a serious safety concern, especially because I use this bike to carry my daughter.

I first tried to resolve the issue through the dealer, Het Zwarte Fietsenplan, where I bought the bike. Over several appointments, different parts were replaced, including the power cable, battery and motor, but the problem continued. I had to leave the bike for repair multiple times without receiving a replacement bike, which caused practical difficulties for me and my family.

I then contacted Urban Arrow directly and clearly explained the full history of the issue. Urban Arrow replied that they would contact the dealer and come up with a plan. However, after that, I did not receive any concrete solution or clear timeline.

At this point, several repair attempts have already failed, and I no longer feel safe using the bike. I also worry that the repeated sudden power cuts may have affected other components over time.

For a premium cargo bike brand, I expected much better after-sales support, especially when the issue involves the safety of a child. Instead, I have been left waiting without a proper solution.

Very disappointing experience.

Our Urban Arrow Family bike (purchased in 2019) has survived over 30.000km across 7 years of abuse without any major parts replacements. This might be a positive outlier, but that's simply amazing. It's been our family workhorse for ages, saving us tons of time and effort, shuttling the little ones around from hobby to hobby and doing groceries (good to know: the hold happens to fit about one shopping cart -- perfect!).

Our UA even served quite a few times as a people and cargo transporter on the very very bumpy and sandy backstage roads of a major, very well known international Belgian festival.

Great quality products! Excellent way of transporting our two little ones. It has had a big positive change on our lives.

Phenomenal bike, well made and exactly what we needed.

We are truly happy with our Urban Arrow. One negative is that our kids always want to go by Urban Arrow to school... And not by bike themselves 😜 Without jokes, our car makes much less km's, wich is good for us and for the planet, on which our kids will (eventually) ride their own bike.

Its a decent bike with a beautifull design. We use the bike for almost every movement with our two kids. But that seems the maximum capacity. So compared to other transport bikes the space seems to be just a litlle lessen.

Feeling of freedom! Not having to take the car but instead taking the Urban Arrow is a way more relaxed ride for the kids and for me! No hussle with parking in the city, fresh air, kids looking outside enjoying the ride!

Even the dog loves it!
We use our bike all the time in stead of the car to go anywhere within our city limits and beyond. no more looking for parking spots or paying for parking.
Our 2 kids love it and even the dog (our labrador) gets to ride with us and the kids when going for an outing.

We’re so pleased with our UA. Really convenient to move around quickly in the city with all of our kids. Quality wise, the bike is really reliable and the support for repairs have been quick in our situations.

We should have bought the urban arrow already with 1 child. It makes your life so much easier when bringing the kids to school and daycare. Say bye to the traffic jam of cars at school. No more walking with the baby, just use the babyseat. I feel so much more freedom with the urban arrow.
The fun part of having the urban arrow is that I can pickup the oldest from school and her friends for a spontaneous playdate or picking up birthday balloons. Our next adventure is to go camping and see how much can go in. I biked more km then that i have drove in my car.

Since buying our Urban Arrow, family trips have completely changed. Gone are the endless traffic jams and stressful travel days. Instead, every ride has become part of the adventure. Our children absolutely love being in the cargo bike, watching the world go by and enjoying the journey as much as the destination.

What we love most is that there are no more wasted travel days. The holiday begins the moment we hop on the bike. We spend more time together, enjoy the outdoors, and create memories along the way.

The Urban Arrow has brought so much fun, freedom, and convenience to our family life. We highly recommend it to any family looking for a more enjoyable way to travel.
