Rejected car
We bought a Fiat 500E online after receiving a video from the Oxford Fiat main dealership showing a lovely condition, low mileage car.
We collected this vehicle from the forecourt of the showroom, even though it was raining heavily. We had the car cleaned when we got home & noticed damage. We sent them a video of the damaged areas that we could see, which they said they had been unaware of.
We took the car to our local insurance approved Fiat main dealership bodyshop, on their advice, who advised that there was damage that had been badly repaired. They quoted a repair bill which was not far off £2k. We do not understand why the problems with this car were not noticed by a Fiat main dealership before it was sold to us.
Throughout this whole process, it has been nigh on impossible to speak to the person who sold this car to us. We are busy people, but our calls have been ignored on multiple occasions. We had to send multiple emails.
After speaking to Citizens Advice we eventually asked for a refund, as according to the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the car we received should have been as described and should have been of satisfactory quality. We were able to meet the criteria for the 'short term right to reject', which is 30 days.
We took a day off work so that the car could be collected by them. We were refunded our deposit before collection. The car was part financed, and the dealership had advised us that the finance was cancelled. This was not the case, the direct debit was still due to be taken from our bank account.
We are back to square one with no car. We had asked for reasonable costs to be reimbursed to us and the Director of Unity Automotive has covered £100 of the costs we have incurred due to their selling us a damaged repaired car that needed further repair. This does not cover all our costs, nor our inconvenience and stress, but we wish to move on. We have also had no choice but to rent a car for two weeks with the hope we can source another car in that time, more expense :( The finance agreement was finally cancelled.
Thank you
I want to say a huge thank you to the service team at Balsall Common. I bought an 9 year old XV from another dealer & it had a number of faults, but the team at Unity have rectified them all quickly & affordably. Thank you for your great customer service.
Excellent
Stuart Wood. Fantastic Sales and his colleagues were equally helpful when he was away. We wouldn't hesitate to use this dealership in the future even though we are over 100 miles away. Thank you!
Just brought my new Jeep

Unity MG - Coventry (Avoid)
The sales process was fantastic, and when we got the car, the hand over was awesome, and that where it ended.
The MG ZS (23 Plate ) broke down in the first 6 weeks, no problem it can happen to any car, the customer service department then took over, had car for 6 weeks, and I had to chase for updates, since that repair, it has been in another 5 times, to give you an idea, we do about 12k miles per year, we have just cancelled contract and got a vauxhall, the MG has 5K miles on it, this gives you an idea how long its been there garage.
Customer service is very poor, you have to chase to get updates, to be told they waiting on China.
We loved the car, but could not take the chance of breaking down again as it was a motoability vehicle, and the service is terrible.
Great support from dealer in getting foc replacement part
My FIAT 500e 2021 is a great car but after its 1st service developed a fault with the navigation unit. FIAT said TomTom were dealing with it but the situation had not changed by the 2nd service and then the fault got worse. Unity tried all they could but considered that the navigation unit needed to be changed and persuaded FIAT to provide the part change it free of charge and UNITY fitted it free as well.
The "Service" department at Unity Oxford overcharge and underperform.
The oil change advisory message illuminated 3 months after an extortionately priced full service and only halfway to the next 12000 mile service interval. I called for advice and the "service" department at Unity Oxford said they wouldn't be able to reset the oil service warning light and suggested I bring it in and pay over £300 more for another oil change! Hmmm this would mean an oil change every 3 months? £1200 per year? Seriously? It's a 2.0 diesel not the space shuttle! I sent an email asking them to complete the service properly and reset the service interval light which of course went unanswered. I'm not going to waste any more of my time and hard earned money at Unity Oxford. Avoid this place! (£45 for an oil filter! c'mon!)
Had great support for warranty work
Had great support for warranty work for Fiat 500e, start to finish nothing has been too much trouble and Paul has gone above and beyond many thanks.
I purchased a brand new Ssangyong car…
I purchased a brand new Ssangyong car in 2019 with 7 year warranty in Leicester. This year 2024 A/C is not working and wanted to book an appointment but they said that Leicester office does not do service work and we need to go to Coventry. This change was not known to us and also to repair by another garage, it is not possible to find parts as Ssangyong is not a known brand. This is giving us more cost and stress to repair.
Zero after sales support
I purchased a Jeep Wrangler from Unity Automotive Oxford in June 2023. The engine warning light came on for the second time in Jan 24 and the vehicle became unsafe to drive. Because there was no service history on the vehicle and the diagnostic tests were returning 100 potential faults, Unity agreed to a replacement. It's over 8 weeks and there's been no progress, despite me emailing them a variety of potential replacement options.
They respond to some negative reviews advising to contact their owner and/or management – all of which I’ve done. I purchased the vehicle in good faith and have been extremely patient however the after sales standard is poor with zero pro-active engagement to resolve issues.

I was looking for a new car for our firm and searched online. Found Unity Leicester offering the car at a great price and following contact with Stuart had great service and easy purchasing experience. Car delivered today. Can highly recommend based on my experience.
Delighted customer of Unity Automotive Fiat, Leicester
I want to say thank you so much to Russell Gregg-Boot and all of his team at Unity Automotive Fiat in Leicester. They made the purchase of my new Fiat 500 a really excellent experience. No pressure, no lengthy sales pitches just common sense and all at an amazing price, beating local-to-me dealer prices by literally thousands!
I am also delighted at such fast and positive responses out of hours - I really wasn’t expecting such outstanding customer service. From my initial enquiry right through to the vehicle being transported to me everyone was professional, friendly and extremely helpful. Nothing was any trouble. The dealership is over 100 miles away from me but that wasn’t a barrier at all. Clear communication from the Unity Fiat Leicester team made everything simple.
I have already recommended Unity Automotive Leicester to 2 friends who are searching for their next vehicles. To summarise; outstanding service from Russ and the Unity Automotive Team, including their transport delivery team. Very happy, thank you.

Excellent communication and admin help after 9 month old Subaru XV battery would not hold its charge. Grateful thanks to Richard who fitted the battery on his day off.
Brilliant cars, brilliant people
I bought my Skoda Octavia VRS 3 months ago and it’s been faultless. Wonderfully well serviced and presented, I’m thrilled with it.
The guys here were friendly, helpful and super flexible to my availability. The car even came with 6 months warranty which was a nice added extra. A very happy customer here.
Bought a VW Touareg for £16K
Bought a VW Touareg for £16K. Lovely car, but when I got it home & got to grips with all the operating controls (it has stacks of electronics), discovered rear screen wiper wasn't working (motor was burnt out), and parking sensors also not working (one faulty sensor disables the whole system). Complained but Unity insisted that all checks of functionality had been done prior to sale and so both issues must have occurred after sale (i.e. on the drive home ? I don't think so). Unity Automotive thus washed their hands of these problems which cost £1,270. to repair at a VW main dealer.
This is a great place to buy a car… and…
Unity Oxford… This is a great place to buy a car… and unlike any other I’ve been to in the past. A great relaxing environment where you’re free to browse anything from an electric bike to a 707BHP monster truck, they have everything here with numerous great brands on a huge site with representation of literally everything. New Fiat 500 or a pre owned Ferrari in the showroom you’re free to sit in and dream, what’s not to love… and the coffee is great too!!
Great experience
Great experience, thanks Rob :-) The V class arrived exactly as described and on time. Happy customer, thanks, Nick
