Train cancelled due to strike. No other trains available all day. Refused to refund me. Raised dispute through bank and they tried to block refund. Fortunately the bank won. Absolute crooks.

Tries to top the Deutsche Bahn

The only thing that should take time to ripe is wine, not train delays.

Departure and arrival times are not relevant, they are more like guidelines and the whole system is best effort (which means basically no effort)

You should never book to trains after each other, not even when they are 20minutes apart from each other. It will not be enough.

Even if you think “hey thats a non stop train it will be on time” Trenitalia manages to disappoint with +15min delays.

So yourself a favor and take a flixbus or some kind of transportation that at best has nothing to do with trenitalia.

Trainitalia should be Tainsomalia

The worst transportation experience I have ever had. The rudeness and incompetence of the staff is impossible to comprehend.
They treat customers with complete disrespect and provide no actual assistance whatsoever proceeding to be incredibly rude when you ask for help.

INHUMANS... WE SHOULD STOP THEM SOMEHOW!!!

ALL TRAINS CANCELED, WHEN ASKING FOR A SOLUTION THEY ONLY SAY THAT THEY REFUND THE TICKET BUT DO NOT OFFER ANY SOLUTION AT ALL, THEY JUST DON'T CARE!. COULD NEVER ARRIVE AT DESTINATION AND THEY DON'T CARE. I'VE EVEN SPENT MONEY ON THE METRO TO GET TO ANOTHER STATION FOR A TRAIN THAT WAS ALSO CANCELED AND THEY WON'T REFUND THAT WHEN IT'S ENTIRELY THEIR FAULT.

GO TO HELL AND GET OUT OF ITALY YOU PIECE OF INHUMAN BEASTS.... THIS HAS TO FINISH! WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING TO STOP THEM DOING WHAT THEY ARE DOING...

0 STARS IS NOT ENOUGH, IS THERE ANY WAY TO REPORT THEM TO THE AUTHORITIES? I'M INVESTIGATING THIS.

Easy to get a fine

Everything is getting more complicated when it comes to travel because you are more likely to make a mistake for you didn’t stamp the ticket before boarding or you didn’t check-in if you bought the ticket online. There are more people fined because of not stamping or checking in than people who are not buying a ticket at all! The absurd thing is that if you have paid for a ticket you can still be fined for more complicated rules.
The paper ticket is more practical because it can be used on any local train. Once you have it you just need to stamp it before boarding. The online ticket is more practical but once you check-in you have to buy a new ticket off to miss the train. I’m constantly seeing foreigners penalised because they cannot get this system right. Nobody really understands why if a ticket is issued and paid why do you have to stamp it as well and if you don’t you are fined!

poor customer service; no answers

We were never informed that our train station had been switched from Rome Termini to Rome Tirbutina, multiple workers at the information desks even said we were in the right place as our ticket showed 15:02 Rome Termini. Fast forward to 15:10 and our train still hasn’t shown on the directory, and now the workers are telling us we missed the train. Fortunately, the man at the help desk printed out our EIGHT TICKETS, but could not provide any information as to what happened to the train because of the language boundary. Being unsatisfied, I decided to go to the website to see if someone from the customer service center could provide me with information as to where the train was! My first attempt calling, someone picked up and hung up immediately. My second attempt, I spoke with a man who seemed like he was annoyed from the beginning. When I explained my situation he told me to wait a second. So I waited, 3 minutes later he asks me if I need to buy new tickets or what the issue was. I informed him again, I just wanted to know where the train was, if I had done something myself (so I could prevent “missing” my train again). He tells me okay, one second again, and hangs up the phone on me. I have never felt so disrespected and uncared for by a CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE in my life. I have been in Europe traveling by train for over a month now in 6 different countries and this has by far been the worse. So bad to the point where I wish I could give it negative stars. What a shame that tourism gives Italy’s country a huge economic boost as it is one of its main driving factors, and to be treated this way makes me upset. I was honestly so excited to come back here, but I will never again give a dime to this pathetic company. Truly a shame.

Mean

Wow what nasty bunch. Total scam. Charged €116 for getting on a THREE MINUTE train an hour later than the ticket I bought despite the tickets being the same price and the train itself almost empty. 2 members of staff escorted me off and threatened me with the police. What a farce.

Travelled from Livorno to Florence with…

Travelled from Livorno to Florence with my girlfriend. After buying the tickets we embarked the train. We didn't know the tickets were do to "stamp" given the fact that we gave our go point and we choose also the departure time on the automatic vending machine.

Lucky for us, our "mistake" was prompt taxed with a 120 euro fine from a overzealous employee who took pride in giving us a find all through we tried to explain that to him. Clearly xenofobe and rasist due to the way he treated a colour person wanting to also embarque the train.

Thank you for showing us the other side of Italy. We were too happy after 7 days with very nice people :) Had to finally meet an A-hole too :))

Xenofobe/Rasists shoul not have a job in such a Public service.

Attention Vol manifeste - Be carefull transfert aeroport Rome

______________________________________
On our departure we asked at the reception desk (central hall) if it was possible to take the earlier 2.50pm train. The person confirmed that it was possible and that we could take the train to the airport 40 minutes before or after our ticket. This is also specified on their website. We went through the gate without any problem (ticket accepted). On the train, the ticket inspector (Mr Tiziano M. number 2950756) told us that our tickets were invalid, even though we had taken a train 30 minutes before the one we had selected. He asked us to pay him in cash, which we refused to do. He threatened us and forced us to pay by credit card 64€.
To date, Trenitalia has refused to reimburse us.

Do not purchase any of their train…

Do not purchase any of their train passes, their customer service is terrible, rude, unhelpful, and would even turn away from the windows to further help/assist the English speaking customers. Zero effort to help work out the situation. It is literally a tourist scam.

The mirror of this nation

Total scam! Be aware.
You get a ticket for 2 different train but they are always late and you will lose your coincidence for the second train. If you are late you have to make a new ticket with another company and the price will increase like s.
Today I lose 24 euro ( 1 hour trip) just because the train was late.
Pathetic

Do not travel by train in Italy…

We can not recomend to travel with Trenitalia. This company runs on chaos, with non-italians and tourists desperatly trying to get from point A to B. The Italian railway system is outdated, poorly managed, with little or none information for travelers. They have over all attitude you are an inconvenience rather than a customer. They sell tickets to trains which have been canceled and when you finally get on a train that goes to your destination they charge you extra for being onboard a train that travells faster: although being stranded for 7 hours at a station becaus of canceled trains. The app is useless for none-italians since you cant buy tickets on it, and there are no/late updates about available seats: it looks like you are going to your destination but surprise at the station: ticket machine says "error" and then; its all sold out. You can speak to the information desk but its around 30 minutes waiting with the risk of even more seats being sold out as you wait. At Milano Central they annonce which track only 7-10 minutes before the train arrives. People are running all over the platform with heavy bags in panic trying to get onboard. The railway system must be updated, its a joke to have Trenitalia to represent Italy. Its 2024 but they cant even get an app or ticket machines to work. Will not travell again in Italy because of it.
