Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 6,864 reviews, local reviewers overwhelmingly had a truly great experience with this company. Customers frequently praise the incredibly helpful and exceptionally friendly staff who make the entire car purchasing process completely smooth, transparent, and completely free of pressure. Many people truly appreciate the detailed guidance, patient answers, and professional support offered from the very moment they first step through the front door. However, some reviewers were not happy with the poor after-sales support and unexpected vehicle problems encountered shortly after driving away. Consumers reported dealing with severe mechanical faults, faulty parts, and frustratingly slow communication when trying to get necessary repairs sorted out.

Synopsis of events from purchase to today

Synopsis of events from purchase to present day (brief bullet pointed list)
•I went to ats automotive because I was hearing a blowing sound coming from my exhaust and they said there was a hole in the catalytic converter and the clutch was very high and about to give out and that 2 cv boot clips hadn't been fitted properly they were just swinging on the bar even though I had too wait an extra day to pick the car up after I purchased it so they could fit them
• I phoned trade center in February about the issues I was having on the vehicle
•I spent about 1-2 months going back and forwards with trade center and startline motor finance trying to get the vehicle sent back for a rejection.
•got told I had to give them one chance to repair the vehicle which i did.
• after it took another month to repair the vehicle i finaly got it back supposedly in working order
• then a cupple weeks later as a estimate I took it back to ats because I wanted to make sure the vehicle was repaired correctly.
•to find out the front lower suspension arm was bent because of an after market bolt they had fitted before I purchased it and the ball joint had excessive play in it and there was wire showing in the front left tire were the tyre had rubbed because of the proplems with the suspension arm and there was screws undone from the air filter box what halfords changed under trade centers life time warranty service and the anti freeze was a brown merky substance which has been there since I got the vehicle and we was advised about driving it when the anti freeze is that colour because its bad for the engine and needs to be changed but trade centre said that it was ok in the 99 inspection and they are still refusing to sort it even though its been there since i picked up the car and the gearbox was not working correctly as it was not allways wanting to go into reverse.
•told trade center about these issues and the finance company and it was another month before anything started happening.
•they told me to bring it in for an inspection to see if I had the right of rejection which took another month for me to be told what was going on with that.
•they said the only issue was the front lower arm was bent and nothing else was wrong with the vehicle which is not true and ats mechanics showed me the problems my self and I've got photo evidence for the anti freeze condition.
•they said I had to get intuch with the finance company to try to get the rejection.
•the finance company supported my claim the whole way through but trade center was not communicating with them so I was told the best option was to get in contact with the Ombudsman about the issues once they closed the case.
•I contacted the Ombudsman and they said I will be contacted in about 6 weeks time to be given a case handler which I'm still waiting for.
• so I contacted Trade Centre to tell them that and asked them if there's any updates on my car and they said no because how I got the Ombudsman involved they couldn't do anything else.
• I got a phone call from trade center 2 weeks ago to tell me they have repaired the front suspension arm with out my permission saying the finance told them to fix it as a good will gesture but i was never told about this.
•now they want me to pay for the other issues with the car because my 6 month warranty has expired which is not right as the issues was there fault and not from wear and tear because I've only done 450 mile in the car.
•but they have contacted me and pressuring me to collect the vehicle saying if i don't then it will just get classed as abandoned and towed back to startline motor finance which I told them I'm not picking it up because I want the rejection of the vehicle because of the problems with the car and the hole in the tire if I get caught driving that by the police it can be 6 points on my licence and im only a provisional driver which would mean my licence gets taken away from me and I rely heavily on travelling because I have to travel alot for work as it is quite far.
• the trade center and the finance company don't care so im not contacting them no more till I get incontact with the Ombudsman about this issue

Longest refund process.

I returned a car on 15th July 2026 for a refund due to constant issues with it since April 2026.
But now I am having further issues as they have not returned the money back to the Finance Company (GoCarCredit) which is delaying me even further getting a refund and purchasing another car.
They have done nothing but drag their heels to make the whole process even more frustrating as time goes on.
Feel free to contact me.

Misleading online valuation

Website valued my car at £6700 but on arrival it was only valued at £4300, very misleading and limited my original budget.
Staff were friendly and helpful once a purchase was made, Leah was very helpful in finalising everything and assisting me with tax and insurance.
Quite a long wait afterwards for the car to be valeted

Harry was really good

Harry has completed the finance bit beautifully, explaining everything through and checking everything is in order, even stayed overtime to finish the paperwork and see us getting the key to the new car. Thanks Harry!
