Avoid

I wish I had read reviews prior to trying to make an appointment. Very efficient in taking a £50 card payment for the privilege of making an appointment and thereafter never heard another word - no confirmation of payment or appointment when I followed it up just got a complete run around with no resolution or admission of fault - BUPA really needs to review their association - this place is bad news

Really?

Really, so not my thing to write a neg. Review, however I knocked on The Harley st Dermatology clinic door twice, the first specialist recommended 6 months of antibiotics, we all know that is a strong call 3 months later , the second specialist advised to stop this form of defence and gave me a cream. After all of this , what was diagnosed as rosacea turned out to be : spots that needed squeezing during a facial . No real care from Harley st , just another patient.

Disappointing Experience: No results, Rude doctor

The service I received from this dermatologist has left me feeling scammed. I wish I had checked all the other 1-star reviews before booking, because my experience was similar. My concerns were instantly minimised and dismissed, there was no line of questioning as to why I might have certain conditions, just a ‘what do you want’ and ‘leave the office now’ vibe. Both times I saw the derm I felt rushed, was seen for around 3-4 minutes, and was spoken to as if I was crazy or stupid. Then I got a consultation bill of nearly £200 for no results. Avoid!

Totally disengange doctor

Totally disengange doctor, who was more interested in selling us further treatments, or get us out of the door as quickly as possible. My son has two skin conditions and the doctor didn't even take a proper look at them (only glanced from across the desk). After a few minutes he wrote a prescription for 30 pounds on top of an already expensive consultation fee. I often use private doctors, but this visit was an all time low point.

Cryotherapy

I attended the practice to have cryotherapy. I was told that this would be undertaken by the doctor.

It seems that it was someone who was sat at reception who undertook the treatment, as the doctor walked into the room. I tried to confirm after who this was, but could get no confirmation. The person misapplied the liquid nitrogen to a large area around the skin issue, much more than necessary (as I have had this done with a different practice before) causing excessive burning and some scarring way beyond necessary.

When trying to discuss with the doctor, i was told that “she” could organise a consultation (despite it being a man who applied the liquid nitrogen). I was told I could do this over the phone, no phone call was received. I was then told it would have to be in person at 7pm, but i could not attend due to work demands. The bookings team then said again i could do this over the phone, and again i received a call saying i must come in person!

The most unorganised place. Very unprofessional and unable to resolve. I was originally told it would be £70, then on the day it was £200 odd. They then accepted £100 “because it was the end of the day” and it would be in both of our interests.

Will never return and hope they can get in touch to resolve.

The doctor listened and understood how…

The doctor listened and understood how I was feeling.
I left the clinic feeling reassured and grateful.
I was told I could come back but the doctor knew I probably wouldn’t need to.
I will recommend the clinic to anyone going through what I was going through with my skin.
I was so desperate for someone to listen to me and the doctor knew what I was going through.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I had CO2 laser treatment for my acne…

I had CO2 laser treatment for my acne scarring. It was considerably more painful than I expected regardless of numbing creams and injections. I looked hideous post treatment and the first few days were dreadful but now my skin looks shiny and new. Dr Rajpara explained in my follow up appointment that my scars would continue to improve over time as many still remain but look better. I have every intention of further treatment and am glad I had the procedure done.

Extremely expensive consultancy fee for NO ASSISTANCE

Extremely expensive consultancy fee for no help at all. Could have stated this over the phone. Waste of time and money. I did complain and the manager took some money off however this is not good enough. I definitely felt cheated out of my money. Will not be using them again

Great Doctor, atrocious customer service

I took my niece on Friday 3rd October for a check and on the day we decided to progress with a small procedure.
Doctor was great and explained options and course of treatment.
However the customer service is atrocious: we were told that the results of a test we paid for were going to be available on Tuesday 7th October, but nothing happened. I had to call twice a day for 4 days without being called back, only being able to speak to various operators who only take messages and pass on. Eventually the test results arrived on Tuesday 14th October.
Also, we were overcharged and again same as above, it was eventually rectified.

Good patient experience

Firstly I was offered an appointment on the day that I wanted. They helped me to check through all the consultants and suggested the one I saw. I was very pleased with the way the receptionist acknowledged me. She was pleasant and patient. Dr Ravi Ramessur was very knowledgeable and explained things in a way that I could understand. He made everything make sense.

Dermatologist - Do not attend

Dermatologist, was rude, uninformative, not fully knowledgable about the treatment he was giving (went elsewhere and received proper advice) and only suggested most expensive treatment. Should apply more care and consideration to his patients. Won't be back.
