What a horrible company!!! They charge for items that haven’t been shipped to you and then never get the items back in stock. I’ve been waiting for 2 shirts for 4 months!! I cancelled one of the shirts 2 months ago and still haven’t received a refund. They are a fraudulent company that steals your money. I finally had enough and filed fraud charges with my bank. DON’T ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY

Undelivered Merchandise
I ordered a t-shirt. It was never received. I tried contacting Territory Ahead by phone. Spent several minutes on hold before a message came on and said email them. I emailed and the message was undeliverable. I think I'm out the price of the t-shirt and the shipping cost. Too bad. I'm finished doing business with them.

Update: Several more emails w/ "customer service" and they responded that a refund would be issued. Weeks passed with nothing. Had to open a dispute w/ credit card company and they issued me a refund.

Needed to give it one star when 0 is best
Needed to give it one star becuase it would not let me rate 0. I oredered a T shirt 12/7/24. It was not in stock and I waited. I called in late January and it was still not in stock and they offered to give me a credit (please note I had to call to find out). I called again in Febraury and they said sorry about the slow credit. I called again in March and had the same response. Note agsain I initiated all contacts. I used to like this company and over years I probably bought over $5k in clothes from them. But for a lousy $49.50 they have forever lost my business. Unresponsive - even though acknowleding every time, they owed me the credit. teribble

The Path of No Return
My wife ordered two items (shirts) online for me at Christmas. One item was sent but she never heard one peep about the other item. After Christmas she contacted Territory Ahead and they informed her that they had sold out of the shirt; neglecting to tell her. Well, the other shirt was not my cup of tea so I returned it on Jan 4th. I received a confirmation that TA received it on the Jan 9th. We waited for our reimbursement....and waited...and waited. I contacted customer service on Feb 3, 4, 19, 25 and March 3rd. Each time I had to recreate the entire situation - telling them that their return department and received the return on Jan 9th. Without exception, each customer rep assured me that they would personnally make sure that I would get reimbursed within 3-5 days (the last rep told me 24-48 hours). It should have dawned on me that that assurance was part of their script. Well, I called on March 12th and asked for the customer service supervisor. I was told that she was busy, but she would call me within an hour or two. It is 24 hours later and I am still waiting for that call.
Never shipped shirt. Won't refund my money
Ordered an item 6 weeks ago. They immediately charged my card. Still don't have the shirt. Tracking number they provided 5 weeks ago indicates the item has never been shipped. Have made multiple phone calls and sent multiple e-mails. I get a different story every time I call. Told me they would 're-ship' the item 4 weeks ago, but they never did. Never responded to my e-mails. Have requested a refund but they haven't refunded my money
Do not buy from Territory Ahead/JP Outfitters
I've been a customer of TA for about 20 years. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE FROM THEM AGAIN! I purchased items from Territory Ahead/JP Outfitters on 11/29/24. I sent one for a refund that was received by the company on 1/20/25. I have called them 6 times to track down my non-existent refund, to no avail. I had also exchanged an item that I then returned. The quality was inferior and shape of the item was lumpish. It was received by the company on 2/19/25. A refund has yet to be received for that item either. Every time I call I am told the items were received but they are waiting for the refund to be processed. No supervisor is ever available to handle the problem. Call center goes to the Philippines. I have registered with the BBB. I highly recommend that you steer clear of buying from this company or its affiliates.
Scam -- beware
I placed a Christmas order 12/8 and they immediately debited my account. I received two items before Christmas, the other four were MIA and when I called they said they were indefinitely backordered. I canceled that and returned the other items on 12/21 and was promised a full refund. It's now March 6, and I'm still out $400. I have gotten the runaround for three months now, empty promises, etc. I have email records as proof of their empty promises that my money will be refunded. I'm determined to fight this, so I've just reported this to the Ohio Attorney General's office as they're based in Cincinnati, and urge you to do the same! It's a simple online form to fill out. I can't include the link here, but easy enough to google.
Never credits returned items
First of all, I've been a customer of Territory Ahead since the 1980s (before the Internet!), buying things from their once beautiful catalogs. They are now a far cry from their former self.
I cancelled two orders BEFORE they shipped, received verbal confirmation that they were cancelled, but Territory Ahead shipped them anyway. .. And why did I cancel one of the orders? Because even though their website showed the item in stock and therefore would make it before a birthday for a gift, after I ordered, it now showed the item as "back-ordered" on my account page. Great. So I cancelled. But then a week later, the item shipped anyway.. and you guessed it, was received too late for the birthday.
In addition, they said the initial shipping charge would NOT be refunded. What? It was your mistake! I intended to dispute that issue, but I never got to that point, because they won't credit any portion of the orders!
Back to the story.. after the cancelled orders arrived, I returned both, which TA received in early Jan 2025. It's now March and even though I've called multiple times (what a pain to have to explain this over and over to each new representative!) and they acknowledge the returns were received at their warehouse in OH, they always say the returns are, "In process."
I finally had to give up and dispute the transactions with my credit card.. they left me with no choice.
Terrible experience
I have ordered from TA many times over the years and enjoyed the quality of the clothing. Something has happened in the last few years. The quality of the merchandise still seems to be good, but fulfillment and customer service are horrible. Seems to be hit or miss. Most recent experience was ordering a shirt and receiving a shipment notification with a tracking number. After 7 days UPS still reported that they had not received the package. After 2 emails TA customer service acknowledged that the item had been "lost in transit." Lost in transit between their warehouse and UPS? They promised reshipment with the following disingenuous message: "Please rest assured that we are actively monitoring this, and we will update you as soon as I receive any further information." After another week still no notice of reshipment or any other communication. Checking the site, the product I had ordered no longer appears except in one size. I have requested a cancelation and refund. Fingers crossed.

This company return policy is ABSOLUTELY the worst. They sent the wrong size. I followed policy with a appoved return. Return was mailed January 12th and it is now February 27th and no credit to my account. Customer service whom I have called twice put you in hold and then you speak to someone based in a different country.
This used to be a good company
This used to be a good company, selling high-quality clothes with prices to match. I have bought quite a few pieces over the years and still receive compliments when I wear them. I assume they were sold to private equity, though, and now they are an expensive shell over a s***show. The customer service reps seem to be doing the best they can, but they are basically unequipped. No communication of stock issues, no communication on backorders . . . if you have too much money and enjoy surprises go ahead and order, because someday you may get something!

BUYER BEWARE!!! The owners of Territory Ahead are scammers. I have proof of delivery they received a shirt I retured for credit on January 17. It took 38 days and 3 phone calls to get get my money. They share the same Cincinnati warehouse as J. Peterman, a company that scams the same way. Probably both are owned by the same sleazy private equity firm who uses your money.

Customer service claims there is a glitch in their returns process and expect a six week wait. Really? Why would I ever buy anything from them again if they are actually staying in business. Filing dispute with credit card company.

Do not buy from this company
My wife bought a sports coat in December. The coat did not fit so we returned it a couple of days after Christmas. We were told the refund would be made shortly. We have called customer service 5 times without any satisfactory answer. We are told the refund is 'in process' but it has been six weeks without the refund being made. I filed a dispute with my credit card company. Avoid this merchant! UPDATE: I contested the charge through my CC (Citibank) and Territory Ahead told them that they had, in fact, shipped the jacket. No mention of the return or lack of refund. They really are a dishonest outfit. I have appealed again to the CC with proof of their return acceptance. Avoid this merchant!! UPDATE: The CC dispute was settled in my favor.
