HOTEL was not at a good standard,rooms…

HOTEL was not at a good standard,rooms too small, refused 1st two offered, 3rd room was larger but still not what I call 3 star,mold around window and walls , carpets were dirty bathroom also not cleaned more ingrained dirt around shower,which I wouldnt use.Driver was not helpful parked too far away from \York so we were not able to walk into main area so trip was waste of time. Too many negatives to mention more.

Our first Shearings Holiday

This was our first coach holiday and we enjoyed every minute of it. We were impressed with how easily they got people from all over England and Wales to be on the same coach in Folkestone. We enjoyed the ferry trip and Eurotunnel trip back. Our hotel in Rouen was nice and had a pool. Monet’s House and Gardens and Rouen were lovely and the Palace of Versailles is easily the most impressive place we have ever been. Steve and Sherri were great. Steve’s driving was very good and the information he gave was very clear. Sherri was great with all of the passengers. They were friendly but professional at the same time and I have worked in hotels for 36 years. Would definitely recommend this trip. The best thing was sitting back and relaxing and not having to worry about the car or driving on the other side of the road!!

Our trip to Bournemouth and Jersey was the last ever with Shearings in…

Our trip to Bournemouth and Jersey was disappointing to say the least
The only time we were on a Shearings coach was from the pick up in Rugby to Bournemouth after that it was Bland’s coaches or the Jersey ones ( circa 1990’s). So much for that
The Bournemouth hotel the ‘EastCliff’
Is now an overspill -rooms only -for the Carlton which is 2 car parks away and is the only one with the pool, wi fi, modern 3 pin plugs, and visible staff! All meals have to be taken there. The dinners chosen in advance and trolleyed into the room while their other guests had table service
The EastCliff alas is downtrodden and shabby, and no one to come in to tidy the room on the two, two -night stays we had there.
The Hotel in Jersey was far superior
However, in spite of the general dissatisfaction of everybody on that holiday- and their rep being inundated with complaints and my own personal letter to the Managing Director there hasn’t been a peep out of them. No apology, no explanation. No giving a damn. That is unforgivable in business
Shearings, which had such a good name is being trashed by Ledger who took them over.
As for a Recommendation?
Use another company!

First Shearings trip

Went on our first Shearings holidays to London on the Abba Voyage trip & had an absolutely brilliant time. We've been on lots of coach holidays with other companies but our driver on this trip Chris Macneill was the best driver, he was so friendly, happy, funny & informative about everything. He definitely went above & beyond for his passengers. The hotel was comfortable & clean but the only thing I must say is that the evening meal wasn't what we were expecting, it was a buffet style meal rather than choosing what you want & it being served. We normally have just plain food so there wasn't much we would eat to be honest. Will be travelling wiyh shearings again in the future.

Went on trip to paris

Went on trip to paris . Splendid paris weekend break . Was amazing well organised by drivers Mark and rich . Mark was so helpful explaining everything timings and things to do . Or evening meal in Paris was excellent and night drive to effiel tower was spectacular Mark waited for tower to light up but a storm came in .. he then drove a little bit more were the tower just light up so we could get. Photo.. thank you Mark and Rich you were amazing helpful cheerfully driver

What happened to Customer Service?

Last year I had a medical emergency and nearly died. I'm 79 years old. Whilst in hospital I decided to book a trip to see the village Emmerdale had been set in which was scheduled for June 2026 with Shearings (Coronation Street and Emmerdale Village experience). However 10 days before departure received email to tell me that we wouldn't be visiting Esholt where Emmerdale had originally been set. I would get refund of £25 a person and we would be spending the afternoon in Skipton as the Emmerdale characters occassionally referred to it. I rang and explained that visiting Esholt was the whole purpose of my booking and requested a refund as the trip was now pointless. Was told I could not have refund as it was a minor change to schedule (?). Eventually was told someone would ring me back that day but no-one did and then got a call on day of departure asking where I was! No-one has rung or written to me and I am absolutely gutted and disgusted at their lack of customer service. They have £550 of my money for promising something they then cancelled at the last minute.

Warning if you have to cancel your holiday. £1 deposit only is advertised , in reality you are paying £100 as at cancellation point you are requested to pay another £99.

Pickups & Transfers

Booked a trip to France from the North of England. Did not receive our schedule until 5days before the trip.
The pickup was 0305 transfer to Scotch Corner change to feeder coach then another change to tour bus to Folkestone then approximately 3 hr wait for ferry then onto Rouen.
At the time of booking none of this was explained to us; had we been given this information we would not have booked.

Needed to cancel becuse wife is not…

Needed to cancel becuse wife is not well. What did we get a faul mouth human in the phone. Saying it wasn't good enough and even tho its life or death. Basically ur going to rip me off before the due date. Nope ur not the whole uk should never book this company of bullies especially the old who can't fight back

I rang Sheerings customer services on a…Sunday

I rang Sheerings customer services on a Sunday to see if it was possible to move my holiday dates. I had booked it as a surprise for my partner and it clashed with several family events. The people a Sheerings could not have been more helpful, I rang the wrong department but the young man who answered the phone quickly transferred me to the correct number to deal with my problem. It was all done cheerfully, professionally and made me feel at ease, my problem was No problem to them. When I had finished the call everything was done and dealt with. My new holiday dates and booking reference were given to me and I put down the phone feeling relieved and very impressed with the service. Five star rating very well deserved.
