Excellent Experience
Respose to my question was super fast and Rachel was able to tell us exactly what we needed to do for our unique situation.
Great Customer Service Today
Great Customer Service Today! I had an amazing experience this afternoon with a Security Matrics staff member while discussing our renewal and annual compliance survey. Martin couldn't have been more helpful. He was efficient, easy to understand, kind, patient and absolutely wonderful to work with on all technical issues.
Essential service run like a scam
This service seems essential but is run like a complete scam. The shopping cart monitor NEVER works for me. If it 'fails' then they start charging me fees. They won't help me fix it but they are happy to try and upsell me on the $30/month automated service. They said my booking software is blocking their IP addresses which theoretically is an easy fix but why wasn't this mentioned months ago when I signed up with Security Metrics? Because they wanted to take their time to squeeze out as much money as they could and scare me into buying the premium service ...

We are a Mom & Pop fish guiding business. Most of our bookings are made through our third-party scheduling app on our website. I got an email saying it was time to renew Security Metrics. I called, spent 45 minutes on the phone with the rep. At the end, I was assured I was all set. A couple of days later, I had an email saying there was something else I needed to do. I called and the rep told me the previous rep had neglected to toggle some button or whatever, and that now I was done. A few days later I got another email about the shopping cart compliance. Are you kidding me? Why don't they just say: It's a 16-step process that involves the following steps? Why tell me over and over I was complete, only to receive another email saying there is more to do? I couldn't be more frustrated that they have made the renewal process so complicated!
Jesse (Intuit) and James (WorldPay) are amazing!
Called Security Metrics and Jesse was an amazing help. Could not be happier with how helpful he was. Made my day by answering questions and determining who I needed to spek with. Jesse transfered me over to James, who was somehow, if possible more helpful. By asking me just a few questions, he was able to update the type of PCI compliance my company is required to uphold to a much simpler version. He even walked me through the annual questionairre during the call so my company is PCI compliant for another year. Could not be happeier with the service and care both of there gentlemen provided me. Seriously some of the very best customer service I have received from any company.
Great Experience!
Rachel Taylor was very courteous and pleasant to speak with. She made sure that I understood all the questions and that I did not have any of my own.

This is a total scam
This is a total scam. I don’t handle card numbers nor do I take credit card numbers over the phone, all transactions are done via the customer inputting there details on the website at there end when they place an order but now I’m charge £350 per you to be PCI compliant plus they are trying to say that “I must” also pay £380 per year for “check out basket protection”.

“Rachel Taylor with SecurityMetrics was a pleasure to work with. She clearly explained the PCI compliance security standards and walked me through the different protection packages available for my business. I truly appreciated her deep knowledge, patience, and genuine effort to understand my company’s specific needs. Her guidance gave me confidence that both my clients and my business are well protected.”
Avoid this company unless you enjoy being upsold like you’re on a 1987 Jersey used-car lot.
I was funneled into SecurityMetrics through QuickBooks, even though my business does NOT handle or store any customer cardholder information. Their team insisted I needed $190 worth of “PCI compliance services,” including an $85 SAQ questionnaire and a mandatory $70 online security training.
When I asked why similar businesses only pay $85, they claimed the $70 online security training was “required” for me - and they negotiated my payment down to $155.
After doing my own research, I learned the truth:
The $70 security training is absolutely NOT required for businesses like mine — those that never handle client credit card data.
It took two phone calls and two chat sessions before a representative finally admitted this. Only then did they refund the $70.
The reality is simple:
If you don’t handle card numbers — and many QuickBooks users don’t — you only need the bare minimum, which can be done directly and independently online. No third-party sales pitch required.
Yet SecurityMetrics aggressively pushes unnecessary services and fees, counting on people not understanding PCI requirements.
Some companies may genuinely benefit from specialized PCI services.
But for the rest of us? SecurityMetrics feels like a scammy sales machine trying to squeeze as much money as possible out of businesses that don’t even need their services.
If you do need PCI help, I’d strongly suggest finding another provider. If you want to feel like you’re buying a used Buick from a guy named Vinnie, give SecurityMetrics a call.
I could not have completed my PCI Compliance Without Security Metrics
I could not have completed my PCI Compliance SAQ Questionnaire without the help of Nathan from Security Metrics. I was completely lost in the PCI Compliance language and wanted to make sure that I was answering all of the questions correctly, so I called for help. Nathan walked me through each question, explained the meaning, clarified everything for me in a way that I could understand in order to answer each question. I couldn't have done it without him and it only took about 10 minutes! It was a very pleasant experience and customer service!
