Unfortunately I have pre existing…
Unfortunately I have pre existing health problems so travel insurance can be a nightmare. A lot of the Travel insurance firms I have used in the past they only see the £ sign not the individual. Saga came to me very highly recommended and that's for a reason they are extremely FAIR it's not about the greed it's about you. I have non hodgins lymphoma and I can state here that I won't be going anywhere else for Holiday insurance.

Problem solved by Saga
Had problems getting a single trip travel insurance policy on a search engine but didn’t know why.
I was also refused on Saga’s web site. Spoke to Saga on the phone and was given the probable reason for rejection. I arranged travel insurance to include existing conditions.

Appalling Service
Called to register power of attorney and they supplied an email address. The POA was promptly sent as the advisor stated they would call back in an hour. No call received! I called the following afternoon to progress and the advisor stated they called the previous day but when challenged stated maybe I didn’t. My 82 year old mother had moved house and I needed to update her new address and register a high value item. After spending another 20 minutes on the phone I as asked to wait on hold for 5 minutes whilst the spoke with the loss adjuster. . I stated please call me back, just as well as it was over 15 minutes later I received the call, the advisor stating she was out on hold by the loss adjuster. It then transpires they have my email containing the POA but cannot now find the attachment!! This is a very sensitive document and should not be misplaced!! I then decided it to proceed with the amendments and cancel the policy as I have little faith in the advisor nor their systems. This is not acceptable service for anyone and especially not for seniors. I was advised my mother would be charged £35 cancellation fee for the appalling service and the balance of the policy credit left £4.88 owed. I stated at least the outstanding balance should be waived but advised only if I stayed on the line for a further 8 mins to raise a complaint, I declined. Needless to say 10 minutes later my 82 year old mother received the demand for £4.88. Please don’t worry Saga, I will ensure this is paid tomorrow.

Received my car insurance renewal…
Received my car insurance renewal today. Noticed the card payment details referenced my expired card. Called to amend only to be told they could only update the card if I made the full payment now.
This means I have to call back again in a month - really!?

Excellent customer service
The premium was comparable with other providers but it was the personal service on the phone that made SAGA stand out. I have a few health problems but Darren talked me through things and explained everything very clearly. He was very patient and considerate when I explained a few things and made sure I got the cover that would be needed.
