Insured with AA last year for £414, renewal quote came in at over £600! Exactly the same details, exactly the same car, no crashes, no claims made, still zero points on license, +1 years no claims bonus...results?..45% increase!!! Just insured elsewhere for £311.. Must have "mug" tattooed on my forehead. Highly recommend you opt out from auto renewal with the AA if you go with them.

My insurance policy will be sent on paper [Another wonderful !! ] as I do not like important documents to be only seen online . Altogether an example to many other companies.

So far the buying process has been what I would expect okay hence the 3 stars but the real proof will be if I have to make a claim. It's people who have to make a claim you should be asking.

Prices and customer service
I have been with Aa for just over a year, i had a few cars insured with the company but never too satisfied. Prices were always out of ordinary and overpriced compared to other companies but i couldn't cancel the policy because i would lose my no claims bonus. Just Today on 14/05/2026 i have went to buy a new car and was ringing customer service to change over my insurance to a new car that i was buying. Before anything i still have 2 more months until my renewal so i could have gotten insured easily as a novice 20 years of age and full year of holding my licence. But then i get told the car is too old well itbis still a car road worthy and as an insurance company you are to do your very best to provide a policy to your customer. I get called an hour after, after i gave up on buying the car for first cause "no response on the phone line" was waiting for answer for over an hour and i never ended getting one so i got the call back an hour after, being told that i can't insure the car that i would lose my no claims but for what changing my insurance to a different car? never hear of that in my life. And i had got quoted 5,700€ if i was to change over and keep in mind i pay way less as i on my current car (novice, 20yrs old, full year of holding the license) overall very unhappy and as soon as my insurance expires and i receive my years no claim i will be changing my insurance company and hope for way better experience than AA i would highly suggest to avoid big NO from me!
