This company doesn't care about the…

This company doesn't care about the customer's. It ai system is taking jobs, and there is no way of getting any help from any one there. I was able to access funds off a mobil check deposit, they changed that amount to a useless amount without telling me. Then hold the check for alot longer then normal. The call the police on me because i was gettingad on the phone. That check is no different then cash, cash is a promise note, same as a check. Are they going to start holding cash deposits because of counterfit bills??????? Where is my money

I went into the bank to deposit a check…

I went into the bank to deposit a check into my account, it was a fairly large check. The teller had the nerve to ask me how I got that money. And then she proceeded to ask me what I was going to do with that money. Is this customary for tellers to ask the banks customers how they got their money and what they’re going to do with it? Is this something that the royal bank asks their tellers to do? I didn’t answer either one of the questions. I just looked at her. I thought it was highly inappropriate and none of her business.

Awful customer service

Awful customer service - it took me weeks and multiple phone calls to close a chequing account - a refund on a credit account was not released on time, one of their staff also missed a planned virtual appointment, necessitating a further phone call to sort out. I no longer have an account with them and am relieved not to have to deal with this bank.

If I could give them -1000000 I would

If I could give them -1000000 I would. Worst experience of my life with a business. Thinking back I should have taken them
to court. This all happened 14 years ago but it affected my life for that long because I just this past year built my credit back up to the point if it being decent again, able to get a credit card, et cetera. so Royal Bank, I banked with them for years, since I was a child into my 30’s. Then they seriously messed up my life and credit and took no accountability. They charged me for something & I didn't have the funds, In a normal instance I fairly should have been charged one NFS fee of $50. Instead, They kept trying to take the charge over & over & over, a total of 48 times resulting in 48 separate charges of $50..yes $2400. I live in Vancouver, a very expensive city and made just above minimum wage so to log onto my bank and see -$2400 was devastating. When I tried to resolve it they first tried to blame paypal (what the charge was for) but it wasn’t paypal profiting off these NFS fees, it was the bank, it was 100% them charging those fees. After getting the run around manyn times from call center workers, the branch workers and them finally I was able to meet with a branch manager. It was pointless, she said I had to take it up with my home branch, but My home branch was in Toronto & I then lived in Vancouver. Never mind the fact that I couldnt pay rent or buy food. So I desperately tried to resolve it over the phone with my home branch in Ontario hoping they would come to their senses and see how ludicrous this situation was. Well nope, that manager was on a leave for at least 2 months and they directed me back to a branch in Vancouver. In the end nothing got resolved, I left that bank and defaulted on a $1000 credit card, I became homeless for 8’months and here I am 14 years later finally able to get a credit card again. This company is evil and they do not care the least about people, just the dollar.

Have my rbc visa 38 years

Have my rbc visa 38 years. Went in to pay the balance. Took 45 minutes. Teller could barely speak or make any sense. Refused to take cash. Hid in managers office 20 minutes while he repeatedly peaked out of the door looking at me for ? She came back and mumbled some incoherent words then manager appeared. Stared at me then went in a different office where she disappeared for5 minutes. She came back then said I could use cash to pay my balance ? Never even counted the money then kept making nonsense statements. So after 38 years because rbc is profit driven and hires idiots to run the branch I'm taking my visa, my account and my investments elsewhere. Great job rbc. You really earned it. Ps. I couldn't give a no star rating but that's only because there's no option

RBC Doesn't Communicate

My family and I have had our personal and business banking with RBC for the last 6 years after switching over from TD. There was nothing wrong with TD, we were convinced to move over with the promise of a low interest rate on our mortgage from Nikki Hall. We also moved our business banking over and it's been a nightmare ever since. In November we applied for a loan with our "Care Specialist" Carmen Dumitrascu. Six months later we hadn't heard from Carmen, and only received a call when we left a message asking to speak to her Manager Jennifer Meyer. Apparently Carmen neglected to ask us for several documents therefore our loan application was never submitted. Jennifer called and wanted to meet to complete our application. When we explained to Jennifer that we weren't willing to work with her due to previous issues, Jennifer became rude and said "Just as well, your loan was denied.".......just moments after telling us that our application was incomplete, and was never submitted, Jennifer was more than pleased to lie to us and tell me that our "application was denied" with nothing but joy in her tone. When we spoke to Jennifer Meyers' Supervisor Devon Thompson, Devon told us that Carmen and Jennifer's service was not up to the RBC standard. The next thing we know Jennifer sends me an email apologizing that I didn't understand what she was saying. Not only did our bank fail to do anything for 6 months, but apparently it's good business to put the blame back on the client, while calling them dumb. Do not use this bank, if you do please avoid dealings with Carmen or Jennifer at all costs. If you do experience poor service, or if you concerns are being ignored, ask RBC to move you to another bank at their cost or speak to their Customer Care department. Devon claimed to sympathize as her family was full of small business owners but in the end defended Jennifer's poor excuse for an apology. RBC's failure to communicate over the last 6 months has put our business in a very difficult position. This isn't what RBC promotes with their business banking, which goes to show you, this Bank cannot be trusted. Nobody from the bank has taken responsibility for what transpired.

Avoid this bank

I feel like they purposely hire the most incompetent people to work for them. Whether it’s on the phone or in person at their younge and orchardville branch in Toronto, they are terrible to deal with.

Nothing is tracked, you will have to repeat yourself to every person your passed to and they are extremely rude. Avoid at all costs.

If I could give 0 stars I would they do…

If I could give 0 stars I would they do not deserve even a single star. I am trying to see my bank account however Royal shit bank of Canada is blocking it. I cannot open the app, I cannot see my balance, I cannot make any transfers. I try to log in it takes about 1 minute before it times out and gives me an error. Not to mention the debit card I have is completely different from the " visa debit" they give us for online purchases. RBC is absolute trash do yourself a favor and do not bank with them. I give them 0 out of 5 id give a negative score if I could. Worst bank in existence. Also it takes over 24 hrs for them to post a transaction. For example, if something comes out of my account it just says interac purchase for 24 hrs+ before they post who charged it and where it came from. Every other bank states who it came from immediately. Absolute garbage pathetic excuse of a bank. I effing hate RBC I am closing my account with them and I will never bank with them again or recommend them to a client

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!

We had to go through RBC for our mortgage to get the incentive my husbands work was offering, otherwise we would have absolutely NOT wasted our time! From start to finish and beyond, it was the most stressful, and frustrating experience! The person we had to deal with out of Ontario, did not answer questions clearly, if at all. We had told them we wanted to pay our vehicle off with the equity in the home we were selling, that was forgotten about until the day before the deal had to be done, even after repeatedly mentioning it. We asked multiple times for an outline of numbers, which we never got and was never clearly explained to us. Then we needed a bridge loan.. welllll they didn’t know what it was, kept asking us how much we wanted and kept saying we could just take the full equity amount for the bridge loan. When I mentioned I had never had to get one before and needed it explained and what was included in consideration for a bridge loan, she could not explain anything to me. Had to have someone at our local branch reach out to us to complete this process… after not responding to our emails for over a week, I had to find a way to get her office phone number. When we finally made contact, the new person made it sound like she was confident in her knowledge of a bridge loan. Nope! She wrote us a loan for $11,000 more than we needed. And to top it off, it was not processed in time as promised. We sat outside our brand new house for hours waiting for our money to go through, only to find out that the money was not there. We ended up going to the branch to see what was happening as she was not answering (her day off) We got the keys 5 hours later than we should have because of all of this, and only because we promised the seller the money would be there the next day. I spoke to a manager and she called and checked in once and said she would reach out again once I was a little more settled into our new home. Haven’t heard from anyone since. We also asked about a LOC as we were told we weren’t able to write a higher mortgage amount to help with costs of appliances, fence and things that would add value to the home and were needed, 3 weeks and haven’t heard back. RBC was a nightmare. Nothing about this process was smooth and it was added stress to an already stressful but supposed to be exciting situation

Stop hiring incompetent, rude people to answer calls or at the very least train them better before putting them on the floor. Extremely frustrated with the phone Visa customer service. The representative was misleading, refused to accept my identity verification via debit card, and ultimately locked my accounts without solving the issue. With RBC for 42 years, they nearly lost me as a customer

I have banked with RBC for 42 years in 4 countries. I have had a positive experience with this Bank 95% of the time.

2 weeks ago I went to the branch at Park Royal and met a Banking officer. I had a specific request and gave the bank one week to respond. Did they respond? No. I called the customer service line and I spent 55 minutes on hold. That agent promise within a half hour the same Banker would get back to me. Did she get back to me? No.

By now I was completely angry and I went to the branch and I met the most capable teller I know, Hourivash. With some profanity added, I told her I'm about to close my accounts with RBC for good. This lady quickly called the right people. They listened and apologized.

A few days later my problem was resolved with a new financing package. I am happy with that outcome and I must thank Miss Hoda and Shahla who resolved my issue. They did a good job and addressed my concerns.

I have opened an account with RBC…

I have opened an account with RBC online. They asked me to go to the nearby branch and show my ID. I went to the 8135 Wyandotte branch, they checked my ID and removed the restrictions. Then, I provided the Direct Deposit info to my Employer so my pay goes to RBC account. On the day I get payed, I checked my account, there was nothing, I thought it was a new account so it may takes a little longer, waited to next day, there was nothing in my account , went to the branch informed me they have no further information. I contacted online advisor and informed me that there is a restriction on my new account and asked me to go to the branch to show my Id. I have informed him that I have done that already , and the branch employees have no clue for such restrictions. However, I went to the branch and informed me that all restrictions have been removed. This is the worst banking experience ever. Customers services is terrible, very disappointed so called one of the biggest bank in Canada.
