I’d been a loyal customer for years…
I’d been a loyal customer for years however the company and customer service has recently gone downhill. They used to ship same day (which is still stated on website) they took agesss to post my item. I followed up with an email politely asking if they could ship ASAP and I’ll pay extra for next day delivery but I didn’t get a response. Ages after, my item arrived when I was on holiday along with a response to my email stating item had been delivered 😵💫

Customer service is always friendly, helpful, pleasant and quick in response. What makes rat and boa unlike any other brand is that it gracefully bestows an aesthetic which is unique, beautiful, striking and is so easily distinctive by it’s signature animal pattern,fluidity and colours. The clothing this brand produces suggests that this is definitely a brand that proves longevity of classic fashion as an example I keep coming back to my rat and boa dresses years later.

Lack of communication
I have written to rat and boa several times now (first time was 15th June) as an order I had in my basket which said it was available turned into a pre order once I got the confirmation order. I want to cancel the order (13348500341109) as I well before the delivery date (August) but I have heard nothing after emailing multiple times!!!

This is my absolute favourite brand
This is my absolute favourite brand! I purchase their dresses every year for my holidays and I receive compliments everytime and get asked ‘where is your dress from’. The dresses are so flattering, unique and amazing quality. Delivery is also super quick!

Excellent clothing, poor communication and order support
I have mixed feelings about my experience with Rat & Boa.
On 30 May I ordered two items: the Red Sonni Trousers and the Adah Shirt in red (Order #329537). At the time of ordering, the Sonni Trousers were clearly marked as a pre-order item, but the Adah Shirt was showing as in stock and available for normal purchase.
The Sonni Trousers have arrived and they are absolutely gorgeous. The fabric is fantastic and they fit beautifully. However, the Adah Shirt never arrived and my order status remains stuck on "Confirmed - We're preparing these items for shipping."
I emailed customer services on 9 June to ask for an update, explaining that I had received the trousers but not the shirt. I received no response. I then tried contacting the company via Instagram message but again received no reply. Eventually I commented on one of their Instagram posts and received a DM on 11 June saying that if I had pre-ordered the Adah Shirt, it was expected to ship in July. The problem is that I did not pre-order the shirt - it was listed as an in-stock item when I purchased it. I replied to explain this but have not received any further response.
What makes this particularly frustrating is that the shirt is now sold out in the size M I ordered, so I'm hoping my original order will still be honoured. If not, I'll probably have to contact my bank to try and retrieve the £145.
To be fair, I later placed a separate order for the Juniper Dress and it arrived quickly. The dress is stunning and the fabric is amazing. In fact, there are several more pieces I'd love to purchase, including the Sabine, Santino and Rodeo dresses, but I'm holding off until I know what's happening with the Adah Shirt.
It's such a shame because the clothing itself is genuinely beautiful and the products I've received have been excellent. My issue is entirely with the customer communication. A simple response and clear update would have made this a much better experience.

Thank you for reaching out and please accept my apologies for the delayed response and thank you for bearing with us. We have recently experienced a significant increase in customer enquiries, which has resulted in longer response times than we would normally expect.
I’ve taken a look into order #329537 and can confirm that this was placed as a pre-order for the Adah Shirt Red and the Sonni Trouser Red.
I can see that the Sonni Trouser Red was dispatched from our warehouse on 5th June and was successfully delivered on 9th June.
The Adah Shirt Red is currently still on hold as a pre-order, with an expected shipment date of 24th June.
Please note that as soon as this item has been shipped, you will automatically receive a dispatch confirmation email containing your tracking information, allowing you to follow your delivery and view the most up-to-date estimated arrival date.
If there is anything I can do to further assist you in the meantime, please let me know as I am always happy to help.

This was the perfect dress for my elopement. I was struggling to find a dress for weeks leading up and decided to pull the trigger on buying this 4 days before the ceremony (yes 4 days.). It came super quick and didn’t need any tailoring! Beautiful material and such an elegant design. It also photographs beautifully.

I bought a dress in May (order 329077)
I bought a dress in May (order 329077). I did not receive a single update to delivery time for weeks, I messaged customer service several times over several days and no response. I have used instagram and commenting on their photos (check other are doing the the same). Eventually, someone replied to my DM asking for the order number and then complete silence. I will continue to escalate but so far this shop is not recommended at all.

SCAM Cannot return dress because their portal doesn’t work! Customer service does not help respond!
I ordered a dress form rat and boa and it was too small, I tried to return it on their return portal and it was not working. After contacting their costumer service 5-6 times and getting no reply, the time to return the dress has now ran out.
Bearing in mind this wasn’t a cheap
Dress it was £365. To charge such premium prices for polyester dresses and customer service that doesn’t respond is ridiculous this company is a scam! I saw other customers have gone through the same thing.
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM !!!!

Whilst a genuine, legitimate company, returning items is an absolute nightmare. The returns portal is very poorly designed and customer service is unfortunately very slow. For such an expensive shop, I'm surprised they aren't hiring more CS reps as this issue seems to be very common... I've emailed customer care 4 or 5 times over the last few weeks to help with a return QR code/label, I received one reply which told me to do things I've already done, and I anticipate having to wait another few weeks now for the next response. I am really hoping that their delay in response doesn't push me beyond the returns threshold...
It's a real shame as the dresses are beautiful, but I definitely won't be ordering from here again, and I'd probably recommend others to look elsewhere as it's quite stressful having issues returning such expensive items!
Rat and Boa: please sort out your returns portal and improve your customer service!!!

Dress ripped - no refund given
Within 5 minutes of wearing the dress it ripped at the seam with normal wear. This is unacceptable for the price of the garment. I emailed Customer Service who said it didn’t meet their faulty criteria and nothing can be done. Very expensive for awful quality, will not be buying from there again.

I have rarely experienced customer service this poor.
I ordered a dress from Rat & Boa on May 7/8 and was told it would ship by mid-May. Mid-May came and went with no update, so I reached out to ask for information. My emails were ignored. It was only after I posted a review that someone finally responded, telling me the dress had been delayed until early June.
Now, after waiting again and receiving absolutely no proactive communication, I emailed to ask where my order was. Only then was I informed that the delivery has been pushed back yet again—this time until the end of June. Had I not contacted them myself, I would never have known.
To make matters worse, they are once again ignoring my follow-up emails.
Delays happen. What is unacceptable is the complete lack of communication, transparency, and accountability. Customers should not have to chase a company for basic updates on an order that is weeks overdue. The only gesture offered for this experience was a €20 voucher, which feels completely inadequate considering the repeated delays, wasted time, and frustration caused.
Rat & Boa may have beautiful designs, but their customer service is among the worst I have encountered. If you are ordering for a specific event or timeframe, be aware that delivery dates appear to mean very little, and you may be left completely in the dark unless you repeatedly chase them for answers.
Extremely disappointing experience. I would not order from them again.
